It all went a bit wrong after I posted last night. I finished the bottle of wine AND ate another 20g bar of G&B, AND had some hummus.

Today I've had
2 pieces of toast
2 pieces of bread with lots of BUTTER, oh no! and some hummus
half a fairy cake (we made them but I can resist the rest, not that bothered about fairy cakes)
an omelette made with 1 egg, a tiny amount of goats cheese and a whole red pepper, the pan was only brushed with olive oil with a pastry brush
a few strawberries
a glass of apple juice
2 apples

and tonight I'm going out for dinner with a friend so there will be alcohol involved. I'm going to walk there though, which is about 2 miles so that might mitigate last nights and tonights damage I suppose. Thanks for listening!

champs · 07/05/2005 15:47

glitter!! -- hi!! gi is meant to be really good and as you will be gyming too you'll get fit in no time. nice to be able to do it with dh will help alot.

bran -- lol@ branboy. he sounds lovely.
4lb in 4 weeks is not so bad.

OP posts:
glitterfairy · 07/05/2005 18:16

Hiya Bran branboy sounds great and I love the image of hammering on the door of the study. I went to buy my first week of GI today and was gobsmacked at the price and size of my trolley. Even my kids were impressed. It is in the Telegraph today.

WWW have a great time out tonight and enjoy yourself. HUm G&B how will I manage without it? Truth is I can have a little on GI so I will indulge with a square every night of dark choc only if I am good!

Champs hun how is the pregnancy and when is little champs due? I have lost track with all that has happened to me recently.

champs · 07/05/2005 21:08

glitter -- pregnancy going better thanks. little champs is due either 13th or 21st august

OP posts:
glitterfairy · 07/05/2005 22:34

ooooooooooooooh my birthday is the 15th! Good time to be born!

PuffTheMagicDragon · 07/05/2005 22:44

branboy does sound really sweet bran

Good luck with GI Glitterfairy, it's really been working for me.

Champs - glad to hear the pregnancy is going well.

www - I found a shop that stocks the mini green and black choc bars and have one as a treat every other day - I sit there and suck the pieces slowly - yum!

bran · 07/05/2005 23:26

Champs, couldn't you keep your legs crossed until the beginning of September? Apparently September and October babies do better at school and are more likely to go to university because they are the oldest in the class.

WideWebWitch · 08/05/2005 12:52

Cor Champs, that's not long now is it? Time flies when it's not you (i.e. me) that's pregant! Branboy does sound a sweetie. I had a lovely time last night, ate carpaccio of venison with truffle oil followed by pink spring lamb with wilted spinach and hummus, followed by berry parfait, all washed down with Champagne to start with and the white wine. And I got a lie in until 10am this morning so feel fab today. And have had 2 pieces of toast, 4 little organic sausages in a sandwich and some apple juice. Will be good again tomorrow, being out last night was bliss though!

glitterfairy · 08/05/2005 13:39

Wow mouthwatering www. better when you have been so good for so long too!

Bran you naughty thing. I have done reasonably well, have a first, a masters and am currently doing a Phd and was born in August!

Am now applying my August brain to my diet and lifestyle! Perhpas that is where I have gone wrong LOL.

moonshine · 08/05/2005 15:08

Never had venison so don't know about that but the rest sounds yummy. Was it just a normal night out in the WWW household or a special celebration?

Ah Bran, glad all is going well with Branboy. My dd is a real daddy's girl which can be quite useful in the middle of the night if she needs some attention .

Champs - really not long for you - here's hoping the summer's not too hot for you.

Well I lost 7lbs last week . I'm making up for the lack of eating by feeding up my family instead and have made loads of puddings. And I (almost) never cook puddings. Might even make a cake for the first time soon!

WideWebWitch · 08/05/2005 16:56

Moonshine, how did you lose 7lbs in a week?I'm really impressed, that's LOADS, well done! I think I might try no bread next week.

It was a normal night out, with a girlfriend (dp had his night out on Friday so it was my turn) but I don't get out much hence nice rest and Champagne. I really do love Champagne.

I've also eaten brie today and we have a tray of veg in roasting and some cubed potatoes in their skins with garlic and rosemary. There is olive oil involved so I guess I'll have to work it all off tomorrow. Lots of walking I think.

glitterfairy · 08/05/2005 18:49

Olive oil is good www. Beetroot put me on detox for a while and I ate loads of it and lost loads of weight as well. Mind you she did try a detox with lemon juice, maple syrup and paprika which I will never forget and which was absolutely dreadful!

moonshine · 08/05/2005 21:08

Glitterfairy, you almost made me gag there with the description of that lovely detox - bleurghhh.

WWW - I am on the Lighterlife diet (do you remember Woodpops - she first drew my attention to it and lost stones on it) which is basically a very low calorie diet which replaces food with shakes/soups/bars. It's brutal but tbh am finding it easy atm - fast weight loss is a great motivator! But you also have to go to 2 hour counselling session every week. Like I've said before, I am a total food addict who needed help big style, not just a different way to count calories.

PuffTheMagicDragon · 08/05/2005 21:14

Moonshine, well done on the weightloss and good luck with lighterlife, I know people have done really well with it.

WWW, that meal sounds divine.

glitterfairy · 08/05/2005 21:33

OOOh moonshine isnt that what astronauts do?

moonshine · 08/05/2005 22:09

Thanks Puff. How are you feeling these days btw? I saw a thread you started about having another you know what but forgot to post properly about how I feel practically the same!

Lol GF - being launched into space would probably be a good idea for me now!

PuffTheMagicDragon · 08/05/2005 22:24

moonshine, I was thinking about a 3rd baby a lot - I think the fact that my 40th birthday was fast approaching, was focusing my mind somewhat!

Anyway me and dh had a long talk about it. He said if I really want another child then we should try for another. He was lovely about it, as I know he is very happy to stop at 2! Anyway, since he said that, and it became a real option, I've decided perhaps I won't go for number 3 (for now! )

WideWebWitch · 08/05/2005 22:30

Puff, so maybe you don't/didn't want a 3rd, it was all just a symptom of approaching 40 and stuff? I may be way off here so feel free to ignore me, obv! Or maybe you just wanted to see how much dh loved you and would bend to your will? Could also be crap but interesting that once he said ok you backed off a bit. I hope you don't mind my saying so, I could be completely wrong of course! I absolutely don't want any more but am aware as my dd grows up that she's my last baby (she's 18 mos) and I have the odd moment of wondering if that's it. It is, of course, but ho hum, I asked dp earlier if he was totally sure he didn't want another and he said, yes, he was (ds, who is 7yo, isn't his, dd is). I am too, really.

PuffTheMagicDragon · 08/05/2005 22:49

I can see where you're coming from www - I suppose I wasn't really sure if I wanted another or not, but I was very preoccupied for a couple of months, thinking should I/shouldn't I. I had really difficult pregnancies for 1 reason and another, and dh said he couldn't watch me go through it all again, so I kind of assumed that was that, the choice wasn't an option and I didn't broach the subject. Once I knew he was ok about the idea, I stopped feeling so under pressure (entirely of my own making) about it.

Blimey, does that make any sense at all lol!

OxyMoron · 08/05/2005 23:02

My goodness - I wander off for a week (or so) and this thread goes crazy! So much to catch up on!!

www - thanks for the sweet tip, and @ shelf stacker! And your ds sounds gorgeous.
GF - glad you had a good time in venice. Sorry about your car
puff - at the bread effect. But at least the culpret's pretty clear.
Fio - are the 'you are what you eat' books any good? (and www, what's this fat girl slim thing about?) Like I need to buy more books
Fio- interesting question. I think I just have bad habits. I eat when happy/sad/bored/hungry, but most of all bored. Also my dad's way of being affectionate is to shower people (and cats) with food. My parents have two very large cats.
Bran - glad to hear your tales of branboy
champs - glad pg is going well. I am so broody atm. Think it's because it's dd's first birthday next week and I'm doing a lot of thinking back to this time last year... V. excited for you.
moonshine - 7lb!!!! wow. well done.
anyone else? apologies if I missed your post

Well, I'm back on the wagon (pretty much). Now, I'm going to be brave and share numbers with you (I never do that).
I reckon when I started this lark back in Jan that I must've been about 100kg . First 3 months or so got down to 85/86 and stuck. Then had my week off and am trying again. Goal is 75 by beginning of august - what do you think? realistic? Am about 85 just now. 75 will put me right at the top of the 'normal' bmi range (ie bmi=25). All opinions welcome!

Started on the weight loss trail again on thursday. Been quite good so far. Though did have a cream tea today . But it was after a 6 mile walk, half of which I was carrying 9kg dd in the backpack. Do you think that compensated??? Bloody lovely, though

champs · 08/05/2005 23:05

glitter -- awww you are an early august baby. ds2 is too, you are both very sweet natured.
LOL@ august brain. you have some good quals under your belt!!
bleugh, I remember that detox

puff -- ty for kind thoughts. lol at 3rd option, too real was it This one caught us by surprise. dh deff didn't want another right now, but hey we're adults and know the concequences of our actions.(got a bit serious there LOL)

bran -- thats just the point, i couldnt keep me legs crossed,PMSL!!

www -- yep really is going fast this time round although |I have a feeling that as soon as it starts to get really hot time will slow down.
mmmm sausage sandwich........

moonshine -- yep summer was dire with ds2. well done on weight loss 7lb wow!!!

OP posts:
champs · 08/05/2005 23:08

hi Ox!! not too familiar with kg but you have certainly lost lots!! heres to your goal for august.

OP posts:
glitterfairy · 09/05/2005 06:24

Hiya guys todays the day and I have got up early in order to potter about making it all in advance to take into work! Not sure whether I can keep this up but for the first two weeks I am following a strict and prescribed diet with dh. AM having porridge with blueberries for b/fast.

Champs, xxxxx. I bet when all the others are slim jims I will still be here pondering my new diet/detox/exercise regime. Perhaps that is where I go wrong I am too faddy.

WideWebWitch · 09/05/2005 08:12

Welcome back om!
Champs, yes, time will slow down as it gets hot, I don't envy you the last bit in the heat.
Glitterfairy, I'm faddy too, all or bloody nothing, hence ok all week and then eating fattening things/drinking lovely wine at the weekend and undoing all that work.

I'm wearing a linen shift dress today and have had to put a baggy top on top of it because I DO look pregnant. About six bloody months pregnant. I am really feeling despairing about this, I think I may try no bread this week, see if that helps. I so, so, so hope that losing more weight means it comes off my tummy, it really is embarrassing. Any tips welcome, can't face sit ups though. Some of it is down to dd (who's 18mos now and was 9lb8oz born, but it's no excuse), but my tummy was there before her, it was just not as big as it is now .
