Tabs congratulations on the 2 1/2 stone award and a massive congratulations on finding out that you are pg. [grin ]

marj · 25/05/2005 21:49

Congratulations Tabs on both counts!

I weighed on Monday and have lost 3lbs so I am really pleased.

Tabs · 25/05/2005 23:27

Thanks ladies .

Arabica - yes I'll carry on going to class. I told my consultant when I first joined that I wanted to lose weight to aid with ttc and pregnancy (had a m/c last year, so trying to minimise risks), so she's already given me the booklet about following SW whilst pregnant and breastfeeding. Must dig it out and read it again!

I agree about consultants. I had one years ago who can only be described as a miserable old bag! The one I've not now is much better, and the lady who covers for her when she's on holidays is also fab.

Marj - great weight loss - well done.

Fairydust - I always try to focus on why I want to lose weight if I'm feeling tempted. Do you have a particular outfit that you want to fit into, or a holiday that you want to bare all for? My consultants recommend sticking a photo on the fridge door, or drawing the item and dividing it into as many sections as you have lbs to lose before it'll fit, and then colour in a section each time you lose that pound.

Are you keeping food diaries too? Might be worth sticking up your last week or so's meals on here so that we can see the sort of thing that you obviously like, and make some suggestions for you.

im ABSOLUTELY GUTTED, i put 2 lbs ON.
Gutted.
The thing about it is ive been exceptionally good all week.
This morning weighed myself and weighed 9st 12 lbs. Weighed myself on my neighbours electronic scales 2 days ago and weighed 9 st 11.5 lbs.
As the day has gone on today, i have felt more and more bloated and sluggish and when i weighed myself at tea time i was 10 st 2lbs!!
WTF.
Give me encouragement for this next week some one PLEASE...
Am due on AF next week so possibly why but my God is it really possible to fluctuate so drastically in a day or so?

karen01 · 26/05/2005 20:27

DONBEAN- when you are due af you can gain 3-5lbs.so say you gained the 5lb you have lost 3lbs
hope this helps

well done everyone who lost.

hi there im paula i have just found this site after searching for slimming world recipies lol well i have just started this diet two weeks ago and finding it ok. need some more inspiration though for different things to cook. i live in southampton so if there is anyone out there local to me it would be good to chat.

look forward to hearing from you all

Tommy · 29/05/2005 23:08

Watch out Paula - this site is addictive (and doesn't play silly bl**dy music every time you log on like the Slimming World one does )
Guess what? I'm in Southampton too! Which meeting do you go to?

Tabs · 31/05/2005 21:29

2 and 1/2 lbs off for me tonight. Happy with that. How's everyone else doing this week - don't some of you normally have your weigh in's by now?

Tommy · 31/05/2005 22:10

well done Tabs. I'm being done tomorrow although my MIL overfed me as usual on Sunday so I'm noy sure if I will have lost! Hope so - my jeans are definitely feeling a bit looser these days

Tabs · 01/06/2005 08:35

Good luck for today then Tommy. Suggest investing in a belt for those jeans!

Tommy · 02/06/2005 09:16

lost another 2lbs!

paula1966 · 02/06/2005 09:38

hi tommy

i go to lordswood, on a tuesday night i have lost 10 and half pound so far. i live in coxford.

it would be nice to have someone near by for support

Tabs · 02/06/2005 16:40

Well done Tommy.

Paula - sounds like you're doing really well too - that's a great loss for just 3 weeks of doing it!

Well I'm experimenting with making a SW friendly moussaka at the moment. It's my favourite meal, but I don't make it often, and I've never done a SW version before, so fingers crossed it turns out ok!

BTW, if anyone likes chocolate mousse then I recommend making the one from the latest issue of the magazine. I substituted 150g of the fromage frais with a pot of Total 0% Greek Yoghurt, and it was yummy. Served it up to guests with fresh blueberries and raspberries on top, and they loved it.

How's everyone else getting on - this thread always seems very quiet?!

paula1966 · 02/06/2005 18:24

thanks tabs,

it that mousakka turns out ok could i have the recipie???? is that a green day or red.

how much you lost on your diet so far??

Tabs · 02/06/2005 19:33

Hi Paula - well I enjoyed it!

It's a red day meal, though you could make it for a green day if you used quorn mince instead.

I made the meat sauce from minced lamb (couldn't find any extra lean in shops so minced my own), onion and garlic fried together in frylight, then added mixed drieds herbs and passata. You could add some extra veggies (eg carrots, celery) to this if you wanted, but I couldn't be bothered today!

I sliced an aubergine and salted it and left it for about half an hour to extract some of the bitter liquid. (You don't really have to do this, but it always feels like I'm really cooking if I do!). Alternatively you could blanche the aubergine slices in boiling water for a few mins just to take the edge off.

I then layered the meat sauce and aubergine in a dish, and topped with a mixture made from 2 'a' section healthy extras of cheddar (would serve 2 people though) and about 250g of fromage frais (approx measurement - I didn't actually weigh it!).

Bake in oven for about 40 mins at 170 or until aubergine has softenened and top is just browning.

I've been food optimising since 4th Jan, and lost 2 stone 9 1/2 lbs so far .
