Juicing - two days in and I am still not hungry!

I decided last week to start juicing after seeing my cousin who had lost a stone in 3 weeks!! I only want to lose half a stone after the excesses of the summer so I thought starting off with a diet comprising vegetable and fruit juice might be interesting (as well as challenging).

So I bought a Juicemaster book (7lb in 7 days) and started juicing yesterday. Today I worked out to one of my DVDs for an hour and have just returned from the park with my DTS. I'm still not hungry!!

I have been drinking fresh juices, which are absolutely delicious as well as exhilerating and I feel fabulous. I plan to do this until Saturday so it will be interesting to see if Jason Vale's promise that you will not feel hungry at all holds true.

Was wondering if anybody else had tried this regime?

I have the rebounder, me and the kids have a wonderful time on it. I must admit though I discovered my pelvic floor needs the most exercise of all.
It is good but I suspect a good run would be just as good, we use the trampoline when it's raining.

pinkblossom · 19/01/2009 14:47

Well I weighed myself after 2 weeks and I have lost....

11 POUNDS!!!!!!

I am really really pleased. Can't believe I have lost nearly a stone in 2 weeks. Keep it up everyone!!

bouncingblueberries · 19/01/2009 15:51

Wow pinkblossom that is amazing! Well done you!

Are you going to stick with the juices?

pinkblossom · 19/01/2009 17:19

Hi BBB, yes I am definitely sticking with the juices - it has reaaly given me the motivation to carry on. I needed to lose 3 stones at the start but now it's just over 2 - woo hoo!!

BlessThisMess · 25/01/2009 16:55

I am definitely, definitely starting tomorrow! Back from a week's hols in which I definitely over-indulged. I have bought all the fruit/veg etc and will weigh myself in the morning before I start. I'm a little nervous about withstanding the cravings, but hopeful that this time next week I will feel fantastic!!

bubblerock · 26/01/2009 10:16

Good luck BlessThisMess! Has anyone found that their tastes have totally changed after juicing? I cannot stand tea now and I used to drink gallons of the stuff! I'm drinking green tea at the moment. Still eating fairly healthy meals and managed to stay the same during week 2 which is good as I haven't exercised much DH has lost another 4 lbs and is looking good. How's everyone else getting on?

BlessThisMess · 26/01/2009 14:44

I am HUNGRY!

BlessThisMess · 26/01/2009 21:38

End of Day 1 for me. I have stuck to it pretty much, though it has been mentally hard. I have felt hungry and have had a banana, a big bunch of grapes and an apple as well as all 5 juices. I'm not looking forward to tomorrow but will stick it out!

bubblerock · 27/01/2009 08:50

Well done on your first day!! I must admit, I didn't feel hungry on it, are you reading Jason Vales book to get in the right mindset?

BlessThisMess · 27/01/2009 12:10

Oh yes, I am reading the book. I am going to stick with it. and I know I am treating my body with the best nutrition instead of the usual junk.

I did the first day a couple of weeks ago too, and didn't feel hungry that time, so I don't know why this has been different except that I've had a week's holiday with various delicious over-indulgences! But here I am mid Day-2 and doing OK.

BlessThisMess · 30/01/2009 10:23

OK so I'm just talking to myself here ... but I will report how I'm getting on anyway.

I'm on Day 5 today, and still finding it quite hard. I get hungry about an hour after a juice, so have been snacking on fruit (apples or grapes or banana) to keep me going. Yesterday I was just so craving something that was not sweet/fruity that I got some sweet potato soup from a shop to have for lunch. It tasted very salty though.

The thing I am most about is that I am really wanting this burst of energy feeling. I want that even more than I want to lose weight. And I certainly am not stopping craving unhealthy stuff yet either. I'm really wanting to break my unhealthy eating patterns and just to not be attracted much to biscuits/cakes etc but it certainly isn't working so far!

bubblerock · 30/01/2009 10:38

Hey - you're not alone! Well done on getting to day 5 that's a massive achievement! Hopefully your eating habits have changed but you just don't know it yet.

BlessThisMess · 30/01/2009 19:29

OK, have just finished off the DDs' chicken and rice in cream sauce ... that's not in the book!!! But wow, it was yummy!! Will be good from now on.

glitterfairy · 31/01/2009 12:19

Have done all these diets but my fave is juice yourself slim where he has salads, soups and wonderful ideas for pitta bread snacks. So far lost 3 stone on Jason. yes I get hungry from time to time.

I am currently doing a food replacement diet but will be going back to Jason in 10 weeks and know I will feel miles better.

I have also used a rebounder and they are hard work but good fun (the kids like them too).

BlessThisMess · 01/02/2009 15:57

I'm on Day 7!! I still haven't had loads of energy, nor do I think I've lost much weight, grrr! Will do the official weigh tomorrow morning, but at most so far it looks like 3lbs though my scales are a bit dodgy and it depends where I stand them.

Still, I got Juice Yourself Slim from the library (had ordered it a couple of weeks ago) and that is re-inspiring me not to go back to putting junk into my body. I hope/plan to carry on juicing once or twice a day and stick to healthy detox type foods the rest of the time.

ihatethecold · 02/02/2009 14:13

do i have to get all the supplements that he recommends for the 7lbs in 7 days diet. i want to start this week and dont want to waste money on unnecessary items as the extra fruit and veg is going to cost alot. thanks in advance

rainbowskittle · 02/02/2009 17:25

BlessThisMess - Well done on getting to day 7, that's fantastic. Even if you have only lost 3lbs, that's still equivalent to 6 packets of butter (or something like that) and think how much healthier your insides will be! Stumbled upon this thread couple weeks ago, bought and read the book and am so tempted, but am sure wouldn't have the willpower. Do you feel better in yourself at all?

ihatethecold - think the op said that she didn't bother with any of the supplements and still did fantastically.

scrappydappydoo · 03/02/2009 14:46

Right - I'm starting this on Saturday - I've brought a juicer, some supplements and I'm buying the fruit & veg later this week.
I'm actually quite excited by it - I want to lose about 3 stone overall. Not sure if I'm going to be able to keep up with the exercise though.

BlessThisMess · 03/02/2009 19:18

Rainbowskittle - I feel thinner, I feel virtuous, and I didn't suffer from IBS at all during the week I only juiced! I do believe it was well worth doing. I am now reading Juice Yourself Slim and once I've got through all the factual stuff and get on to the actual diet bit, I'm going to stick to that. I am still juicing once or twice a day and eating more healthily than before when I have meals. My appetite has drastically reduced - I could only manage half a jacket potato yesterday when previously I would have had a whole one!

But I did only lose 3lbs, grrrr!

BlessThisMess · 03/02/2009 19:19

Oh, and I didn't use any supplements. I am wondering if I would have had that 'bursting with energy' feeling if I had used them though?

sorrento · 04/02/2009 10:53

Argos have the phillips juicer for sale for £44 at our local branch not sure if it's nationwide.

ihatethecold · 07/02/2009 17:48

am on day 3 now, struggling a bit with hunger. wanting to eat the kids leftover sandwiches. they look so nice.. anyone else currently doing 7lbs in 7 days.. could do wih some encouragement please

scrappydappydoo · 07/02/2009 17:56

I'm on day 2 (started on Fri instead of sat as originally planned). I'm ok - a little peckish but agree its worse when everyone around is eating...
I just keep envisioning how fab I'm going to look at the end. Just think tomorrow you'll be half way through... well done

ihatethecold · 07/02/2009 18:02

i know my energy levels have deffo gone up and im not even sick of washing the juicer yet... but the bagette thats in the kitchen...oohh yum.. i wont eat it.. although i did have some tomato soup this lunchtime as i needed something that wasnt in a glass.. good luck with your juicing

scrappydappydoo · 07/02/2009 20:02

I've been crunching ice-cubes - but there's nothing wrong with having a banana or apple just to 'eat'.
I haven't been doing all the exercise don't have time!! But do seem to have a little bit more energy..
