welcome Gracie

Sparkypup - new week, new start. Just get back on the wagon today and start afresh. You need to let yourself go a bit when you meet up with old friends. How about having a few days of speed or super speed food to get yourself back on track?

Tommy · 11/11/2008 12:40

hey
lost a pound and 3/4 this week

educatingRia · 11/11/2008 20:23

tommy.

I had gained. But had a good day.

I made roast butternut, red onions with spinach and butter beans, spiced with harissa for tea. Yum, Though next time I think I'll just roast loads of root veg and some potatoes in the harissa and not bother with the butter beans (yuk) or cous cous (not sure, maybe a plain one would have been better?) Left-overs for lunch tomorrow. Might make the potato bake off the calendar tomorrow.

SparkyPup · 11/11/2008 23:03

Well done Tommy. I am on bread and water ha ha! Actually had a tummy bug of some sort today and was sick (it's probably delayed indigestion). All I could hope was that it was knocking a few pounds off at the same time! Have eaten practically nothing today. However, I know that any loss is a false loss so will just be good when I start eating again tomorrow!

FairLadyRantALot · 12/11/2008 19:13

Sorry...not been coming on this thread...because I was getting a bit downhearted...
nearly didn't go to my Group today...however, am glad I did...because I lost 3 1/2 Ibs......wohoo...
after putting on 2 x 1/2Ibs 2 weeks in a row and then missing last week....it was just teh result that I needed to get me motivated again

Anyway, how is everyone else getting on?

Gracie14 · 12/11/2008 19:43

Hi all,

fairlady - well done on the 3 and 1/2 pounds thats great

Had quite a good week - apart from the lack of exercise and hoping it shows up tomorrow at my weigh in but meant to be walking 4km with the NCT girls tomorrow so hoping that helps Hope your week has been good ladies

mmsnotmonster

I fell off the wagon (yes, again) last night, but it wasn't just due to crap willpower, I found out a family friend passed away a while ago and I didn't know so felt bad.
Felt rotten this morning from the rubbish I ate though.

FairLadyRantALot · 13/11/2008 17:18

oh mildmannered....you haven't have ya? Well done you!

lol...but well done anyway and on losing 1 1/2 Ibs

Tommy · 14/11/2008 17:19

I made the broccoli bake from the latest magazine - wasn't that great TBH. DH and I were still hungry after eating all of it (was supposed to serve 4!)

May try something else next week.

FairLadyRantALot · 14/11/2008 18:21

tommy...lol....I never believe the "serves 4" ever, lol

educatingRia · 18/11/2008 15:54

I made the veg biryani last night, only half quantity cos I didn't have enough parsnips/swede, and it looks like it will serve more than 2! (I made it while doing a workout DVD and by the time I'd finished I wasn't hungry)

good week so far, but no loss again.

Tommy · 18/11/2008 16:43

bit quiet round here isn't it?

Not many people to tell that I lost 3/4lb

It's going very slowly but at least it's going in the right direction. Will have to be very good this week as I didn't eat very healthily over the weekend and it will all catch up with me by next Tuesday!

Tommy · 18/11/2008 16:45

where is that recipe from Ria?

bohemianbint · 18/11/2008 18:14

hello,

I've not been on for a while as have just been doing a 3 week kick starter (lots of soup and rice cakes! ) and have lost a stone in just over a month. Back on the SW now though as I need to have definite boundaries!

Just wondering if anyone can tell me why, as a healthy choice B option, you can have either 2 ryvita, or 4 ryvita?? Obvioulsy i'd go for the 4 ryvita option, but I just don't get it! Any udeas?

bohemianbint · 18/11/2008 18:16

(oh, have decided am doing SW but with a few modifications - as in with some portion control and no wheat to try to speed things up a bit!)

educatingRia · 18/11/2008 19:21

Hi, sorry Tommy, it was from the curry booklet from the mag in Aug/Sept? well done on losing

I think the ryvita thing is 2 ryvitas are a super speed option and 4 are just a speed option bohemian. That was my understanding anyway, but I may be wrong. Congrats on losing, and am in awe of your willpower to live on soup and rice cakes.

Just had bubble & squeak (last nights leftovers) baked in the oven with a quorn sausage, a HEB of cremated bacon, beans and sweetcorn and a dry-fried egg. Yum. DH made a massive almost-no-syn soup for lunch. Done well so far today.

Last night I couldn't sleep because I felt hungry, so I might have a tiny portion of biryani for supper, then my glass of wine and 2 quality street. Ria is a happy dieter just now

bohemianbint · 18/11/2008 19:36

Ah, cheers ria. (There was also unlimited fruit and veg and a couple of eggs - I just seem to be in the right frame of mind right now. Have a lot to lose post baby and want to use breastfeeding to get it off!)

educatingRia · 18/11/2008 21:32

blimey, even more respect if you are still BF, I was constantly starving (despite the extra HEs), the number of times I stopped and started SW while BF.

(In fact it'll be a miracle if I can stick to SW for a full week, but I'm determined this time)

educatingRia · 18/11/2008 23:03

I had a small bowl of biryani (I know late snacking is bad, but I don't go to bed til even later). It was very nice. Smelled nicer than it tasted though, there seemed to be something missing, and I think the rice was over-cooked. maybe the veg were too soft too, and it just lacked bite?
Anyway, it's free food so it's worth it. Can post the recipe if anyone hasn't got the curry booklet.
Am gutted hazelnut in caramel is 3.5 syns (am allowing myself syns for 2 quality street per day, only if I have exercised! orange cream is my fave)

FairLadyRantALot · 19/11/2008 14:26

bohemianbint...that is fabulous....

eR...love your name by the way....all those lovely dishes...I am so "lazy" right now...just cna't be asked to cook, not helped by the fact that dh has been on a long stretch of nights and therefore hasn't been eating with us ... which, possibly explains why I put 1/2 Ibs on....[blush...]

However....I was voted Miss Slinky today ....felt like giving a "speach" along the lines...and I want to achieve world piece.......
