cheers sparkypup I was saying a few posts back that I was feeling quite bloated and your right due on next week, guess i'm just like this as I'm desperate to lose the weight to see if it helps me to conceive you are right tho may have a bigger loss next we eh? Rome wasn't built in a day....x

flourybaps · 28/10/2008 15:11

Hi everyone, Just wondering if I can join? Ive got a lot of weight to lose and was seriously considering lighter life or some other starvation diet but looked into sw and thought I'd give it a whirl, its my last ditch attempt, if this dosent work I honestly dont know what to do.

Anyway I have officialy started today, i'm finding it quite labour intnsive working out what I can and cant eat but i'm hoping that will get easier as I get used to it.

I'm on a red day today and when dd gets up from her nap I'm going to attempt to cook a swede topped cottage pie........ I'm no cook at all so should be interesting.....

wickedwitchofthesoutheast · 28/10/2008 21:37

hi girls

I was on the SW thread last year... have been struggling to lose the 7lbs that would get me to my 2st for about 8 bloody months

but I'm back on it with a vengeance and have managed to shift 8lb in the last 3 weeks and am now 3.5lb from hitting that elusive 2 stone mark
I also set myself a mini target and am hoping to have shifted another 12.5lb by the 22nd Dec!

I have 6+st to lose thou... so ho hum!

FreakyLadyFrightALot · 29/10/2008 17:19

aww ckc...it's rubbish when that happens, especially if you expect a loss...

well...as for me, I put on another 1/2 Ib this week....but, tbh, that was good going, lol....as I had 3 exptremely "bad" days and then stuck to it for the rest of the week, however, just come on...so...only 1/2 Ib is good

Obviously must get my butt into gear and start losing if I wanna be nearer the 10st by x-mas, lol

SparkyPup · 29/10/2008 20:11

Hi Flourybaps - let me know how that cottage pie turns out ... had my eye on it so it will be nice to have an opinion on it, tho' if what you say about your cooking skills is true, you may not be the best person to ask . Once you get your head round it, SW is quite easy to follow and you can eat loads, which certainly appeals to my inner glutton. Wicked Witch, good luck with your 22 Dec target! Christmas night out? Freaky, read "butt" in your last post as "butter" (kinda shows where my mind is at), and now I want a big fat slab of butter on a baked potato more than just about anything and it's all your fault! .

flourybaps · 30/10/2008 12:25

Hiya sparkyplug well I'd recommend the cottage pie was lovely, didnt miss the potatoes at all. The swede and celeriac togaether were yummy.

My dp said to me are you sure your allowed to eat that much..... as I went back for seconds! Not sure I'm gonna lose any weight tbh I feel I'm eating plenty but I suppose its all good stuff.

Its still taking up a lot of time cooking 3 meals a day but I'm sure Ill get used to it. 3rd day today, gonna have sw chips, eggs and mushy peas for tea, whats everyone else having?

sticktoit · 31/10/2008 09:45

Hi All

A happy halloween to you all - pumpkin soup anyone?? Personally after scooping the insides out of three big pumpkins yesterday I would rather not!

It has gone a little quiet on here - do I hear bumps off the wagon??

Just wondered if anyone can recommend some different but yummy fillings for baked potatoes? I am so fed up of beans and cheese or just cheese or laughing cow cheese!!! I even had mushy peas yesterday - not bad though!

RiallyEeRiaee · 01/11/2008 23:23

Hi again. I'm sulking. After my near perfect week I lost the grand total of nothing. So I have been in a place where there is no quorn.
Have been prescribed orlistat, which I am a bit about as I don't eat a lot of fat anyway. Haven't had a lot of "side effects" either, so I'm .
So I am a bit in weight loss limbo. Might be back with you Monday. might not. Might be with lurking on WW now I've got my books back. I have had man flu all week so might still be recovering

Good luck everyone.

SparkyPup · 02/11/2008 09:55

Sticktoit, you could try coating chicken (as a HE) or quorn fillets in Mullerlite mango and passionfruit (?) or peach yog and grilling, then chopping and adding to baked potato. Or they used to do a quite acceptable coronation chicken recipe on SW with natural yog, curry powder, a little mango chutney and chopped up grapes, then either chicken or quorn, depending on red or green, and it really was quite good. That might be nice on a baked potato too, Flourybaps, I am going to try the cottage pie recipe - might have to have a pumpkin topping rather than swede though ..... yip, I've got mountains of the stuff left over too! Any suggestions welcome, but as it's been in the fridge since Thursday night it'll need to be soon, or else the only option left will be "put it in the bin"!

sticktoit · 02/11/2008 10:26

Thanks Sparky, the muller yogurt chicken sounds delish. Will give it a go!!

sticktoit · 02/11/2008 10:27

Oh, does anyone have this week's password please??

Many thanks

Riallybigbangandflash · 02/11/2008 10:41

FreakyLadyFrightALot · 02/11/2008 16:16

sparky..lol at wishful thinking of the mention butter...

but also lol at floury at calling you sparkyplug...instead of sparkypup....

Rially....pain in the backside that you didn't loose anything despite being good....however....you know how water weight can fluctuate a lot depending which time of month, etc...could it be somehting like that....maybe you go next week and do fabulously well?

Well....am completely off the wagon right now....it's ms birthday today and had all sorts to eat that I shouldn't and dinner is also going to be of the kind I shouldn't have....
tbh, can't go to my group this week anyway, and if I go to evening group I won't be able to stay....so...might not even bother this week, and if I am good as off tomorrow, I might even loose that 1 Ib I put on over the past few weeks...and might even get to my 1 1/2 st...I just think if I go this week and put on again I might loose heart....sigh...

ckc · 02/11/2008 18:07

dazmum · 03/11/2008 16:36

Hallo, I am new to mumsnet - glad to see a SW talk to keep me motivated! I managed to crawl to my target in March this year, lost 3 st, but took a long time, half a pound up and down, then a couple off, one up etc. Kept looking at the truly horrible photograph of me swiming with a dolphin on a dream holiday a couple of years ago, felt sorry for the poor thing having to drag me to the shore.. Maintained for five months and then all went mad over a couple of miserable wet weeks on holiday in August, when I felt the need to eat toasted sandwiches at a rate of knots. Went back to SW a couple of weeks ago,had put on 5.5 lbs, so need to lose a few to get back to target and stop paying (my greatest motivator). Good luck to everyone, it is the only thing that's worked for me and I have tried everything. I am very lazy so hated Rosemary Conley very much, (although I'm sure she's a very nice woman)

ckc · 03/11/2008 17:25

hi dazmum, well on my way for weigh in I tell you after sticking last week and I only need to lose 2 1/2 pound for my stone award and no alcohol this week if I don't get that stone star tonight I'm going to eat everthing on the house and a wispa wish me luck......x

wickedwitchofthesoutheast · 03/11/2008 19:10

am so confused.
I have been pretty good this week, a bit of naughtyness but I syn'd it all so I didn't think I'd put anything on.
I weighed myself on sat + weighed myself to day (on the same boots scales) + it said I'd put on 8LBS!!! surely this cannot be right???

either way, I wussed out of my weigh in tonight so I'm sitting here very upset+hoping that the scales in boots have lied to me as I've been doing so well+I was hoping for a loss of about 2lb

FairLadyRantALot · 03/11/2008 19:36

wicked.....honestly, do yourself a favour, and don't weigh yourself inbetween weigh ins....it's best to just go by one lot of scales...as all scales have their own variables anyway...tbh, I doubt you put on 8Ibs in 3 days or so....

ckc · 03/11/2008 20:32

Back from weigh in I've lost 5lbs this week and got slimmer of the week yippee I'm so happy if I lose 4 next week that will be a stone and half x
