oh dear - gained a pound this week. I blame the party I went to on Saturday - it was a buffet and all I could eat (veggie) was cheese sandwiches and peanuts (and maybe the copious amounts of wine didn't help much either

I had had a mad idea that I could lose 2lbs a week from now on and get to my goal well before Christmas and treat myself to a new dress - will have to get on with it if that's going to happen!

nikkid21 · 24/09/2008 08:33

I lost 2lb last night which puts me within a pound of target and back to where I was before the summer holidays.
Went out to buy some new winter clothes yesterday and found that I am now a size 12 top and bottom - this time last year I was a 18 bottom and 14/16 top. I know i'm bragging a bit but I just wanted to let all of you know that if you can stick with it, DO! It's so worth all of the eating bloody scanbran and saying no to wine when I can wear clothes from topshop. Just wish I could have done it when I was 18 rather than waiting until nearly 30.

Lurkingnomore · 24/09/2008 08:53

Kid - Funnily enough I'm starting to weigh myself more often in the hope that I'll be more motivated - it worked this morning when I had "lost a lb" since yesterday, I just need to remember to be reasonable about the fluctuations

FairLady - I had a look last night and found a monday night one I can get to - hooray!! I'm going to see if thats motivating for me to stick to it over the weekend, knowing Monday is D day

I think I need to ban cheese in my house! I made the vegetable curry in the magazine last night,(was going to make pie but decided to mix2match in the end) it was lovely then I spoilt my syns allowance by having 6 syns on cheese to put on the top of my second portion of curry - so 20 syns for me yesterday

Never mind, I can make that up today. Guess who'se got leftover curry for lunch

heavy · 24/09/2008 08:55

Wow nikki that is a big change isn't it - well done you!
I remember at last years christmas party I split the zip on my top and the staff on reception had to find me a shirt from lost property to cover my modesty
even so it took me until July to drag myself to slimming world again
I am not going through that again EVER
(note to self to hold that thought next time tempted to order Dominoes)
Lost 1.5 lb this week even with the drink at the weekend - getting really bad hangovers from drinking without all the extra food that normally goes with it though. Must try not to binge on the occasions I do let myself have extra syns!

Tommy · 24/09/2008 09:36

well done nikki

Lurkingnomore · 24/09/2008 09:54

Nikki- didn't see your post, wow waht an inspiration! I'm a size 20 at the moment so the thought of getting into 14s next year would be fab!

Heavy, I hear you on the drinking & eating thing, especially as ever since new years eve I seem to have gained a monster appetite when I've had a few, and can put away goodness knows how much junk! We need to make sure we have easy to pig out on free food at the ready on a Saturday night - and I know that's easier said than done! My problem is also the morning after, when picking up a greasy bacon butty is Soooo much more tempting than a bowl of cereal...

kid · 24/09/2008 19:20

Well done Nikki, thats a great achievement.

I am hoping to have have a decent loss this week. WI is on Saturday, but I checked in today (I know I shouldn't!) and I have lost 2lb. But I just ate a Walls Cornetto so thats probably the 2lb back on again!

andyrobo237 · 24/09/2008 19:50

Now come on Kid - a coretto will not equal 2lbs - unless you eat the whole box!!!

Lurkingnomore - you are definately my twin - we need to buddy up and spur each other on, else I will be a stone heavier by Christmas not lighter!!

Niki - you are an inspiration to us all!! What will you do when you get to target to maintain the weight? I hope you will stay here and keep us motivated!

Nemo - been for your weigh-in?? Hope H is feeling ok.

kid · 24/09/2008 20:05

I know, or at least I hope not! I was being dramatic Thanks for the reasurance. It was just one cornetto I ate.
I'm not going to weigh myself until Saturday now.

nikkid21 · 24/09/2008 21:22

Andyrob - I've been at target since May but took the summer hols off from going to group and put on 5lb. Maintaining seems to be ok as long as I stick to the sw principles (ish) and go to group a couple of times a month. I think that if I didn't have the dicipline of a weigh in every couple of weeks I would pile it on again.

Kid - classic cornetto is 12 1/2 syns so within range for the day as long as you haven't had much else.

I know what you mean re eating crap when drinking. We have a large 5 litre box of rose open in the fridge at the minute and it's all too easy to keep drinking when you don't have the mental stop point of opening another bottle
I get the toast munchies with real butter. The only way I have of dealing with it is not to start eating as once I do I won't stop. With the hangover the next morning I go for industrial quantities of porridge or make up a banana & strawberry mullerlight smoothie.

kid · 24/09/2008 22:17

I had 6 syns worth of boiled rice (90g) so not too bad and I only used 1.5 syns yesterday with a hot chocolate.

Do you think it matters if you don't have all the HE's?
I rarely have both HEa's and today I was meant to have 2 Alpen light bars but only had one. Its too late to eat the other one now.

melbob · 24/09/2008 22:58

So I have managed to put on 2lbs in 2 weeks. I am so hacked off I really don't know why its happened have food optimised kept my syns vv low and weigh less on my own bathroom scales and the woman who weighs us irritates me beyond..............aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

FairLadyRantALot · 24/09/2008 23:09

Sorry really late and really tired and early start again tomorrow morning...to all that lost well done, to all that put on....don't take it to heart!

As for me....I went to a different group today, just for weigh in, as had to take Kids....but I lost 2 Ibs...no idea how...but am not complaining....I also reached my Club 10 target...wohoo....finally....

Lurkingnomore · 25/09/2008 09:05

Wooo well done fairlady, pat on the back for you!!

Andyrobo, it's a deal, we'll buddy up, that was I can't let you down... hopefully at any rate!!

Kid, I think its one or two HEa's a day, so you're fine with one... as for the Bs, are you losing weight? The Bs are probably more important. Are you getting fibre from other things like vegetables, beans, pulses etc? Are you ahem regular? Remember its the only way you can get those lbs of fat out of your system I think I get way more than my required fibre intake, because I normally eat 5-10 portions of fruit and veg a day (yesterday was 11! )

I had 5 syns yesterday, so am ok with that but need to save another few or else I can't have my booze at the weekend! Having said that I didn't really drink last weekend and I was ok, so I need to make sure its for pleasure and not just habit, as its so costly in syns!

themildmannneredjanitor · 25/09/2008 14:05

i got weighed last night. lost 2lbs! was really pleased.

dh lost...wait for it...5!!!! and he's cheated this week. lucky bugger!

FairLadyRantALot · 25/09/2008 18:11

well mildmannered...that is fab...as for your dh....remember, men have more muscle mass then women, that is why they find it easier to lose weight and are quicker

kid · 25/09/2008 21:03

I eat plenty of fruit so reckon I am okay with the fibre. I don't miss the HEbs often, miss the second HEa most days though!

I saw a lady I know at work tonight, she asked how I was and then said 'sorry, but you put weight on.' Gee, tthnks for that Lucky she didn't see me 3 weeks ago when I was 1/2 stone heavier!
I am determined for her to notice I have lost weight in the near future.

Lurkingnomore · 26/09/2008 09:44

Kid - just how cruel was that person?! I would never dream of saying that to anyone!!

kid · 26/09/2008 16:49

I could have been just as mean and said something like 'Yeah and you are ugly!' but I'm not mean!

Despite what she thinks, I have survived a 4th week on SW and WI is tomorrow. My belt on my jeans has certainly marked a difference. I am two holes smaller now so whatever the scales show, I know I like the belt result!

FairLadyRantALot · 26/09/2008 17:41

Kid, belts are great to assess changes in your waistline, aren't they!
As for that woman I really don't get this rudeness, it would never in my life occur to me to mention someones weight, unless they make it clear to me first they want to talk about it....or, well, teh only time I would comment is if a big loss is noticed....but even wiht that I tend to be careful, because for all you know that person may have lost lots of weight because of a severe illness or divorce, etc...

MY family seems to notice everything...even not so close people, and they seem to feel free to make comments about it, which does bother me...a lot...as I have a very bad body image and in my younger days did severely stupid things, like stopping to eat for extended periods and just drink balck coffee and stupid shit like that....so, it really is NOT helpful when people mention if I put on, or mention my YoYoing, etc....

sigh!

Anyway, I think UNiversity will probably work as a "great" if not healthy diet, lol....because this week I had either no tme to eat or just no nergy to prepare food....hohum....

kid · 26/09/2008 22:56

I do think she was very rude, but luckily I am not offended by her. I will still think she is rude though!
I have had a good night. While my parents, sister and kids munched on pizzas, I ate an orange and an apple. I didn't even feel in the slightest bit tempted to have a slice. Probably because tomorrow is WI!
Please let me have a loss this week, I have been so good.

polester · 27/09/2008 16:37

anyone know this weeks password as been on holiday for 2 weeks and can`t seem to contact me group leader

FairLadyRantALot · 27/09/2008 18:49

password is, iirc olive

kid · 27/09/2008 19:10

WI today, I lost 2lb. Thats my first 1/2 stone gone. Am aiming to lose 1 stone to begin with and will see how I feel then. So half way there!

How many syns in a pie and mash?

FairLadyRantALot · 27/09/2008 19:27

well done you !
