Can I join you? Been doing SW for about 9 months now and need all the help I can get! Still got about 3 stone to drop.

FairLadyRantALot · 20/09/2008 10:44

Louise....opt for a flexible syn day if you need too....that might help...also, remember life is for living and doing SW is not about being good all the time but about making generally better choices, iykwim

kid, I do the syns over the week rather then having a certain amount daily...works better for me

Nemoandthefishes · 20/09/2008 10:47

hi all not been around but at weigh in one wed I lost 4lb which equals 1 stone and half a pound in 6 weeks. also signed up for a 6 week countdown to try and keep going!!!

FairLadyRantALot · 20/09/2008 10:47

maintan is better then a gain , kid

MrsFluffle....the more the merreir

Well...am not having a great week eating wise, so far Thin it is because I am so stressed out about starting University on Monday, iykwim....I am a bit freaked out, to say the least and just starting to wonder what I was thinking in thinking this would be a good idea ...but I know it's just the worry of the unknown.....however, I am having a bit to much chocolate at the moment....must be good for teh rest of the week.
I probably will have a gain anyway, as I always weight in in hte mornings, and now have to go to an evening group...so, that will add some pounds, I bet...sigh....

kid · 20/09/2008 11:00

I found that if there is chocolate in the house I will eat it. So I just stopped buying it altogether!
If my kids want chocolate they buy it then eat it straight away! Or they have some at other peoples houses.

I stock up on carrots and fruit instead. Ryvitas and cheese triangles are also a life saver for me!

I'm having a red day today, tomorrow will be a red day too.

themildmannneredjanitor · 20/09/2008 11:03

hellooooo

after my 4lb loss the other night, it's all gone a bit loco

had 3 packets of crisps yesterday

and had a bar of chocolate and a ready meal on thursadya-oh and a sandwich in the canteen at college.

i HAVE to get back on track today.

Louise18 · 20/09/2008 16:21

Thanks FLRAL - you're right, it is my b'day and having flexible syns won't kill me. What I need to make sure of is that I DO get straight back to normal syns again on Monday!!!

Boys made me waffles with cream for brekkie! I just had one and then had a slice of dry toast with marmite to fill up. I know there's cake for later too, but luckily worked today so haven't had much else to eat yet. I'm not even really a cake person, but my sons will be very disappointed if I don't have any.

Why can't I just be one of those lucky ones who eat whatever they like and are still skinny???

andyrobo237 · 20/09/2008 19:52

Nemo - well done there - stone and half a pound is great! I can do the half pound!!! Keep at it and you will get your stone and a half soon!

Sounds like it has been a mixed week - some losses, gains and stayed the sames - I think I am on a stay the same week! Not the best!!

kid · 21/09/2008 20:39

I bought this months SW magazine. There is a little booklet with curry recipes in it (I think thats what its about as I haven't even opened it yet!)
Would anyone be interested in me posting the recipes? Or should I try them out first?!

Lurkingnomore · 21/09/2008 20:57

Hello all

As predicted, this week was nigh on impossible to stick to the plan, being away and about with work, but after a terrible wednesday and thurday my body was actually craving healthy things by friday (!) so friday and saturday were non-SW but helthy de-tox days, with fruit smoothies, veggies roasted in olive oil and nothing processed, no caffiene etc. Today was "lunch with the girls" and I confess to a burger and chips, but I'm on veg stew tonight. I had such a headache this morning from the detoxing that I half thought the bit of junk (and the one coffee I gave into) would help, but made me feel dodgy again

Anyway I have leftover veg stew for lunch tomorrow and should be back on plan.

One top tip from me, I have had the most gorgeous "pig out" desserts recently!

Choc version - large pot fromage frais, mix in options sachet (two if you like!) and leave 24 hours. Serve with squity cream (2 tablespoons is 1 syn) - its bloomin' lovely!!

Raspberry version - mix in raspberries with from frais and icing sugar to taste - could use sweetener I just didn't have any - smush it up a little bit leave for a couple of hours - makes a sort of eton mess!

Nemoandthefishes · 21/09/2008 21:11

well this week I expect to gain as dd1 was admitted to hospital yesterday morning meaning have eaten rubbish most of the weekend and will probably do so until she is home. tonight when I swapped with dh I got a macdonalds although tried to salvage it by buying a happy meal rather than a proper one

weblette · 21/09/2008 21:40

Oh Nemo hope she's out soon.

Lurkingnomore · 22/09/2008 08:58

Sorry to hear that Nemo, sometimes other things are more important. Chin up, hope she's better soon x

themildmannneredjanitor · 22/09/2008 11:20

ok-quickly!
how many slices of nimble for a h e???

TimeForMe · 22/09/2008 13:17

Hi all

This weeks password is olive

Have a good week!

FairLadyRantALot · 22/09/2008 20:44

Oh Nemo, sorry to hear about your little one being admitted to Hospital...why, if you don't mind me asking?

Well, this week I have been officially crap...although, today I was good....prepared my lunch for tomorrow and probably go weigh in on Wednesday....must look the different groups up and timings etc....
but there seems to be a chance that sometimes I still be able to go to my morning group...wohoo!

Kid the little currymagazine looks quite nice, doesn't it!

kid · 22/09/2008 22:12

The little curry magazine does look good. I have already selected some recipes I would like to try out. I have to go and buy some bits first though so that won't be until Wednesday now.

For breakfast today I had a banana and muller light instead of my usual weetabix. The for lunch I had couscous and veg curry so I didn't use any HEa's or b's. I had them all after dinner tonight (ryvitas and cheese triangles) I didn't think I would fit them all in tbh!
I have had a good day today, am tempted to weigh myself halfway through the week to see how its going but thats probably a bad idea.

Lurkingnomore · 23/09/2008 09:13

Nemo, hope she's getting on ok.

I weighed myself this morning and am not impressed! I've got to go back to class, its just that the one I used to go to was at 5pm on the dot and I struggle enough leaving work on time as it is! Oh well, needs must, people who go to class have been saying a stone by xmas is perfectly possible, and I want to be a stone lighter by xmas so off I waddle (!) back to group!

Red day today. Princes steak in gravy (syns, anyone? I'll look it up if not, I hope its low syn) with tinned new potatoes as HEb for lunch

Lurkingnomore · 23/09/2008 09:37

By the way, I'm supposed to be trying that beef whotsit recipe that is in the magazine tonight - but I'm really not sure if I've got all the ingredients as I forgot to check last night. Is there any chance if anyone here is looking on here before 5pm and you have a magazine you could let me know what ingredients I need? I now can't even remember what the name of the dish was but it used steak and I think butternut squash and mushrooms too, I think it was a goulash or curry type...?

Oh dear, I'm no Ainsley Harriot am I??!!

weblette · 23/09/2008 11:22

WI this afternoon. Expecting it to be pretty grim. With dh away, 4 monsters to run around after, a 7yr old's birthday party, pizza, wine, bbq, a massive house move to organise and a no-sleeping baby the diet has gone completely out of the window, so far out of the window it's probably in the next county

Onwards and downwards eh!

andyrobo237 · 23/09/2008 11:24

nemo - hope H is feeling better and that you are ok - I can completely understand the lack of SW food - but hey a happy meal is a better choice than a full meal, so good on you!

Lurking - I am guessing it is the Rich Dtewed Steak pie with spiced swede topping - ingredients are:

1lb 12 oz / 794g swede
2 garlic cloves
250g pot quark
12 baby onions
2 x 400g cans baby carrots
400g green beans
290g can mushrooms
2 egg yolks
1 tbsp dried mixed herbs
1 tsp dried red chili flakes
salt & pepper
2 x 411g cans John West Stewed Steak in Gravy

All that serves 4 - free on an original day!

Sounds good - hope you make it and let us know what it is like!!

I have got my books out ready to plan - I am good at the planning but not so good at sticking to it!!!!!

Lurkingnomore · 23/09/2008 11:58

Andyrobo - you're a star, thank you!

weblette · 23/09/2008 18:09

Oh well, 2 and a half gain, much as I expected. This week'll probably be worse as we're away this weekend for our wedding anniversary and there ain't no way I'm dieting then

kid · 23/09/2008 21:00

I weighed myself midweek and its not looking good but I don't know why as I have been good.
My clothes are definitely feeling looser so why aren't the scales showing the same? Wish I had started measuring myself now so I could at least know I am not imagining it.
I had a red day today, it was horrible though!

Nemo, hope your daughter is feeling better.

FairLadyRantALot · 23/09/2008 22:17

kid, scales are vicious things...I htink...they really don't always reflect our bodychanges....I mean, just not having a bowelmovement for a couple of days can make you pounds heavier...

well, shall be going tomorrow evening to a group, but will have to drag Kids along....but next week I will be able to go to my regular group...yeah, as I just found out that next week Wednesday I will have a day off Uni, just a one off though....but, hohum...
I have to stay with SW, as otherwise, I think I will pile the pounds on over the next year....just looked into my coursemodules and am stressed out just looking at them, lol...and when I am stressed I want to eat norty things....so, must stay focused, right, sigh...

Lurker, are there maybe any otehr groups in your area with later timings?
I just wish tehre was a Saturday morning one....lol...worked really well for me when I did WW...I made Saturday my "slacking day" would ahve pretty much all teh things I fancied that day and had then till the next Saturday to be good ...but what can you do!

Nemo, how is your daughter?
