Well I am back on the plan now - been to hosp and had my leg op - was half hoping tht having to starve myself for most of the day would result in some lost pounds, but didnt take into account all the bandages on my leg! Must have weighed at least a pound!!! And not to mention the the rounds of toast and butter that appeared at my bedside or breakfast - I wasnt even hungry but they managed to disappear!

I planned all our meals for this week and made them in advance and froze them, so we are sorted until saturday. All casserole type things, and chilli, so all fit in with the plan. I also cant get to the shops, so no snacking going on as well!! Should be a good start - I have to go to see the diabetic nurse on the 29th and need to be 5lb lighter than I am now, so I will have lsot some weight since I last went to see her in May! Any normal person would have lost a few stone by then! My aim is to lose 1.5 stones before I go back to the hospital to get my other leg done in December - should be possible, even for me!

Hope everyone is well and losing lots of weight - dare I ask how many weeks until

kid · 16/09/2008 21:12

A little birdie told me it was about 14 weeks till Christmas. I hope they lied as I haven't really given Christmas much thought.
I know I will gain weight over the festive season, so the more I can lose between now and then will be very helpful indeed.

I have found week 3 to be my hardest week so far. It might be because I only lost 1lb the second week I felt a bit disheartened. I will feel even worse if I have a gain this week!

FairLadyRantALot · 16/09/2008 21:25

andyrobo....how are you feeling in yourself...hopefully you aren't to sore!

Kid after a small weightloss it can bee hard to be motivated....however, if you loose just 1 Ibs every week to x-mas you will have lost a whole stone from now to then...plus what you already lost, and that won't go unnoticed...
my weightloss is so slow this time, I try to keep encouraging myself wiht the platitude, that a slow weightgain might be more attainable in the longterm ...

andyrobo237 · 17/09/2008 10:24

Fiarladyrantalot - Feeling alot better today thanks! - managed a quick wash (not allowed a bath or shower until dressings are off) and had a light breakfast - fully on plan today!!

Any more weight losses out there to spur me on? I would love a 4lb loss as Tommy - if I put weight on it can take me 3 weeks to lose it, so you have done well! Downwards and onwards we go!

SWlurker - liking the new name -lurkingnomore, as lurking is no good - we need to get serious about this!!

Keep going kid - it will be worth it in the end (at least that is what I keep telling myself!!)

heavy · 17/09/2008 10:28

Hi everyone. Yes, there was mention in class last night of it being 14 weeks to Christmas so a stone is very achievable - better off than on!
Had great weigh in last night - lost 3 lbs so get my club 10 sticker and have lost 1st 5lbs in total.
Have been doing the scan bran challenge. Basically make sure you choose scan bran for one of your B foods each day. It is pretty yukky to be honest (like eating cardboard) but it's worked for me so I am doing it again this week.
They sell the scan bran in class but someone told me you can get it in health food shops too.
Have a good week

fairydust · 17/09/2008 11:45

can anyone please tell me the sin value of sainsburys scotch pancakes please

FairLadyRantALot · 17/09/2008 13:09

I'll have a look in a moment Fairy....

well done on the 3Ibs loss heavy....and how fab you reached club 10

Well, I lost 1 1/2 Ibs, which I am pleased with...especially as it brought me down into the lowere stone range now...I am finally 10st something again...wohoo....!

FairLadyRantALot · 17/09/2008 13:12

Fairy...4.5 syns per pancake on original and green

nikkid21 · 17/09/2008 14:42

The choc quiche was manky - I ended up binning it.

i lost half a pound last night so am now only 3lb over target. Not lost as much as I thought I would but I got my period this morning so it makes sense. At least I'm now in traget zone so don't have to pay again.

Had stir fry veg and noodles for lunch and planning a Heb of pork chop with corn on the cob and spinach for dinner.

heavy · 17/09/2008 16:20

well done nikki - I dream of being within 3lb of target!

Great news FairLady - I have my sights on 10 stone something again too. Need to lose 2lb this week but am away with work 2 nights at the end of the week and that would normally mean beer and curry with the boys ...

kid · 17/09/2008 16:54

Oh no, I crumbled. I bought my kids a cake after school today as they were half price in Sainsburys (its hard to pass up a good bargain)
There was 4 cakes in a pack, they had one each leaving me to carry two home. I ate one of them as soon as I got home
Just having a look on the SW site to see how much damage I have done. I thought it was worth it while I was eating it but reckon I will change my mind when I find out the syns.

Other than that, I have been sticking to it. I have even had some variety in my meals this week!

kid · 17/09/2008 16:59

I can't see how many syns the cakes are. It was a pack of 2 cinnamon whirls (I only ate one though) I've not had any other syns today, so tell me, have I blown it?!

FairLadyRantALot · 17/09/2008 17:31

nikki oh dear about the Quiche being yuk....and well done for being so close to target weight...

Kid...I just looked into the Book, and can't find the cinnamon swirls under Sainsbury...

the only thing kinda similar I could find:
Pret-a-manger Cinnamon & Raisin Danish 20.5 syns

Starbucks cinnamon swirl pastry - 19syns again

not sure if that is of any help...

kid · 17/09/2008 18:35

Okay, its a bit over if thats correct but surely the fact I haven't used up 15 syns a day at all since I started should go in my favour?

I won't be eating one of those again, not worth 19 syns at all!

FairLadyRantALot · 17/09/2008 18:46

remember Kid, you could use flexible syns...or do the weekley syn count, therefore don't have to worry right now neihter

kid · 17/09/2008 18:55

I like you FairLadyRantALot, you bring me good news

FairLadyRantALot · 17/09/2008 19:47

only fair after me being the bringer of the synvalue

kid · 17/09/2008 20:02

All I need now is for someone to plan my meals for me, I am really losing interest and thats terrible as its not even been 3 weeks. I was convinced I would do well this time. If I can lose 6lb and fast, I will have the incentive to stick with it as that will take me below the stone. As it is, I am hanging around the middle of a stone and my body can't seem to make up its mind which way to go!

FairLadyRantALot · 17/09/2008 20:09

hm...have you got any sw books or have you had a look for recipes on sw webpage...that can help getting you motivated ;)

I tend to have fruit and yoghurt for breakie and than see if I fancy a original or green day

kid · 17/09/2008 20:18

I have weetabix for breakfast and then rice or couscous for lunch if I know I am having a green day or ryvita and cheese triangles if I can't decide.

I buy the SW magazine and have a little booklet on family meals (I think thats what it is)
I need to plan ahead for my meals. I started off well for the first week. Then I stopped planning what I would eat.
I need to go back to writing it out in advance so I can be prepared. I also need to stop leaving everything until the last minute.

What I need is organisation. From my meals to my work and even my house! If I don't do it before, that will have to be my new years resolution!

FairLadyRantALot · 17/09/2008 20:34

that will be me as off next week...I will have to be organised....

themildmanneredstalker · 17/09/2008 21:14

just back from group.

lost 4 lbs and got slimmer of the week!!!![ticker tape parade]

FairLadyRantALot · 17/09/2008 21:23

wohoo...well done mildmannered, that is fantastic...

you know, not been Slimmer of the week once...since starting SW this time....years ago I was so often Slimmer of the week....hohum

themildmanneredstalker · 17/09/2008 21:40

i am like this

dh is outgetting me fish and chips for tea though!

FairLadyRantALot · 17/09/2008 22:54

lol...you are as bad as me...I had a real craving for chocolate the past few days and did not touch any....but today, I had a fair lot (celebrating my loss )

But am planning to be "good" for the rest of the week...and am aiming for 60 syns over the remaining 6 days ...I think
