sticktoit - weekends are my danger zone too. I do well all week and then (as last night) share a couple of bottles of wine with DH. This then leads to uncontrollable toast cravings - with real butter on. Sunday mornings are then spent in a guiltfest / or having more toast because i'm hungover
I've found that I can get away with it as long as I don't have more than 8 syns any other day and go to the gym at least 4 times a week.
You have to decide that you are going to stop eating the crap and go back on plan RIGHT NOW. Not tomorrow morning but NOW. Otherwise it's too easy to let it spiral so that you miss this weeks meeting and give up on SW altogether.

Louise18 · 15/09/2008 09:21

What a fab lot you all are! Thanks kid and fairladyrant - I know I need to lose the weight anyway, but comments from the other half do NOT help.

Will follow kid's advice and make him eat lots of vegetables and quorn, which I love but he doesn't... Also saw Gabby on Desperate Housewives put dog food in stew for her husband, and was a bit tempted when I fed the cat last night, he he.

Sticktoit - Hope you're feeling better and have been able to get back on track today. I always feel like Mondays are a fresh start!

FairLadyRantALot · 15/09/2008 09:27

sticktoit, it is so hard, especially if the scales just don't show the success you want them too...
But hold onto that feeling sick feeling from eating all the rubbish...and remind you of it next time you want to have something you probably shouldn't....
maybe have a fruit/raw veggie day and just drink water that day, just to clear the system?

FairLadyRantALot · 15/09/2008 09:39

oh louise, lol at the catfood....
also, even though you yourself feel you have to loose weight, does not give your dh the right to comment....men just don't seem to realise this simple fact of life, do theu

Kid for red meals....
how about stuffed Peppers, prepare mincemeat with spices/herbs and sliced onions and mushrooms, stuff into peppers and put a HE cheese on top and put under the grill...it is a lovely lighter meaty meal

Or a Shephards pie, but instead of potatoes use carrots/turnips/swedes mashed up

Or how about a curry with lots of veggies in and also some meat

or stew/casserole, again with lots of veggies and meat of your choice

If you lie fish:
get rainbow trout fillets, marinade in lemonjuice and Soyasauce, cut up lots of vegies, like Courgettes, Mushrooms, Peppers and put into a oven proof dish, add also some cherry tomatoes, add the marinate form the fish and mix well, then lay the fish inbetween the veggies and put in a preheated oven (ca. 180 degree celsius) and cook until vegetake are softenend and fish is cooked ...this works well with Salmon aswell

sticktoit · 15/09/2008 10:21

Thank you all. I know how the downward spiral can happen as I've let it happen too many times in the past.

I am having a week off SW. However, it is not to indulge or eat my favourite foods but to have a detox week. I'm sick of small losses and staying the same so I think I could do with a boost anyway.

I've done this detox before and lost 5lbs so fingers crossed!!

I'm going on hols on 27 Sept and won't be good that week so want to make sure I lose more before I go.

Back on SW from next Monday though!!

FairLadyRantALot · 15/09/2008 10:25

I did Jason Vales 7Ibs in 7 days juicing programme last year, and it worked a treat...but somehow I can't stomach juices anymore

heavy · 15/09/2008 10:41

I know what you mean about the weekends too. This time around I've been going to a class on a Tuesday night instead of a Thursday night. It has really made a difference to me, I seem to be able to hold it together better when I realise it's only a couple of days till I get weighed. Before I used to think I've got the rest of the week to be good, but that didn't always happen

FairLadyRantALot · 15/09/2008 10:44

See, when I did WW I went to a Saturday class, and that was brilliant, imo...as I ate what I wanted on the Saturday after the mornings weigh in (not necessarily going totally overboard, but ykwim) and then had all week to get back on track....

I just wish there was a Saturday SW class...as I now know more about my timetable at University and it will be difficult finding time in the evening, etc...sigh

SWlurker · 15/09/2008 11:36

Oh, bum. I did so well last week until the weekend. Friday night I allowed myself 20 syns of cider, Saturday I was good (even refused a very non SW friendly fry up that smelt gorgeous and was being cooked in my kitchen) only to indulge in a whole SW pasta bake to myself, fromage frais with options hot choc stirred in (nothing wrong so far I hear you say..) topped with real squirty CREAM and SUGAR, and washed down with nearly a whole bottle of wine - whoops! Stinking hangover the next day which I went for a 4 hour horse ride to clear, was Sooooo good all day until the evening where I ate half a loaf of bread and a packet of ham on a green day!!

Have had enough of myself and am going back to class tomorrow night. Its ridiculous - I haven't got any excuse not to follow it, but weekends are all going horribly wrong - its as if not going to work equals forget about the plan! Next weekend I am not up to anything, so am promising myself that I will not drink alcohol or deviate from the plan- moreover, I will look at my recipe books and find something lovely and SW friendly to make and enjoy instead! Now there is only the slight problem that I am away with work with little control of the food that will be available to me from wednesday night to late friday

Am going to try my hardest to be supergood today, tomorrow and wednesday to make up for it.

sigh.

Decided to change my name as SWlurker was associated with lurking aroudn the same weight - am trying psychology on myself now, things must be desperate

FairLadyRantALot · 15/09/2008 12:05

like the new name...but I might be slightly bias...what with having been 3andnomore for so long....

It's a nightmare when you don't have any control over the food that you will have, isn't it....stood on Friday at that Buffet and thought ....there really wans't anything Slimmingworldy other than the fruit....

themildmanneredstalker · 15/09/2008 12:11

i am STARVING.

on a green day. what can i have for lunch that is really tasty and really satisfying?

Louise18 · 15/09/2008 12:27

Am pretty hungry myself. Going to boil some lots of pasta and put in some frozen spinach at the end, add some onions and mushrooms (dry fried) then stir in some fromage frais with lots of black pepper.

Am hoping if I keep myself very stuffed full of free food I won't be so tempted to snack on the naughty stuff later...

Lurkingnomore · 15/09/2008 12:27

The mild mannered stalker - Buckets of pasta and a tomatoey sauce? JP & Baked beans or cottage cheese? Cous cous with "bits" in?

FLRAL - I love your new name too!

Tucking into chicken and bacon sandwich for lunch, yummy!

sticktoit · 15/09/2008 12:39

Was thinking of the Jason Vale one but all that juice wasn't too inviting. This one you have a day of eating fruit, a day of eating salad/veg, a day of fruit and veg, a day of protein and veg, a "banana and milk" day, a tomato day and a juice day. I have no idea if I can live up to my name for the full 7 days but I am willing to give it 100%!! Have to eat a baked potato for my breakfast tomorrow - should be interesting

Anyway enough of my drastic plan! Good luck to you all for a great SW week!!

FairLadyRantALot · 15/09/2008 12:58

mildmannered- my favourties lunches for green days are:
Couscous and then add fresh pineapple chunks at the end, or just add salad veg things like Peppers and Tomatoes!
Chickpea Dahl and do with it the same as wit couscous

or cheese and Tomatoe toasty (Cheese your HE)

Jacket Potatoe wiht Baked Beans or with the new Branston Chickpea in Med tom sauce or the soyabeans in med tom sauce...both delicious (not so keen on teh chickpea masala sauce one)!

I had left over Quiche today....made it on Saturday with Peppers, Mushrooms , Spring onions, Spinach (a whole bag, lol) and Ham cubes, and Quark and Eggs....I put some Tabasco sauce into teh Egg mixture and that really gave it a nice kick!

Lurking, I love Bacon and Chicken sandwiches....

Sticktoit....sounds intruiging....but Jacket Potatoe for Breakfast...

themildmanneredstalker · 15/09/2008 13:00

have hjad a big baked potato with my h e cheese and spring onions. it was lovely.

babyjjbaby · 15/09/2008 13:38

right i have got to get back on track today sposed to be going to class tonight but can't get any1 to pick me up when it finishes and don't fancy spending 45mins in the dark with lil man waiting for the bus

kid · 15/09/2008 19:03

thanks FairLadyRantALot, I'm not sure I can do the peppers one when I am at work, but the shepards pie without potatoes will be easy. Could possibly try the stew but that would be easier when at home. Perhaps I can try it for an evening meal.

TimeForMe · 15/09/2008 21:14

Hi everyone

This weeks password is ginger

HTH

Lurkingnomore · 16/09/2008 09:44

Hello all

Thanks for the password. I amazed myself yesterday by not really being very hungry!! I was on a very rare red day, so I wonder if its true what the low-carb fanatics say, that carbohydrates make you hungrier throughout the course of the day?

Harumph, I'm not giving up my glorious green days anytime soon, but I might have more superfree meals, as I really enjoyed last night's - quorn pieces with mini corn cobettes and a passatta based sauce, served with sweede and carrot mash (have to check syns, it was aunt bessie's and I realised too late the ingredients list said butter in it )

Not too sure about my meal plan for the rest of the day, I've got loads of fresh berries and yoghurt so that will feature! Which reminds me, you know how cooked or pureed fruit gets syns? What about frozen and defrosted stuff, like those berry mixes? They are a bit mushy after defrosted so I guess they lose some of their composition, so do they have syns?

babyjjbaby · 16/09/2008 10:35

i am sure the asda frozen berries have syns lol

Tommy · 16/09/2008 12:58

OMG - I lost 4lbs this week!!

It waas really lke starting again though as I had been eating really badly since our holiday and I put on 4lbs anyway but I am feeling very chuffed cos I thought I had reached a bit of a plateau. Got to keep it up now - one more stone to go!

nikkid21 · 16/09/2008 15:48

well done Tommy - that's a fab weight loss

Lurking - I thought all frozen fruits were free. Just checked my book and all of the fruits listed - fresh and frozen are free. Just check that there is no sugar added on the ingrdients list.

I weigh in tonight but have been battling chronic pmt munchies over the last couple of days and gave in to a very sinful pizze last night.

Currently have a sweet chocolate version of the sw quiche in the over at the moment. Have made it up to my own recipie but only has 6 syns for the whole thing. If it works out nice I'll post the recipe.

FairLadyRantALot · 16/09/2008 20:13

well done tommy am but pleased for you, iykwim.
I weigh in tomorrow...god knows what I will weigh....honest, gone are the days where I could have a rough guesss and be correct....sigh....

nikki....if that Chocolate quiches is nice, you must share the recipe
Is it kinda a baseless chocolate cheesecake? Are you using quark instead of that retched Cottagecheese...can't stand it....it's consistendy feels like curdles milk and the taste not much better, imo, lol....
