Hello!

Well I'm quite pleased with myself, I mentally awarded myself my first sticker on the chart for first day day back on track and 4 1/2 syns (I try to keep my weekday syns down so I can have more fun at the weekend)

Printing off loads of recipes seems to have really helped me to get motivated again. last night was mexican spicy rice - Rice cooked with onion, peppers, celery, sweetcorn and Red kidney beans, vecon stock and chilli powder - was supposed to have tomatoes in it but I forgot - got leftovers so lunch today is sorted too

I had it with seasoned quark on top for a bit of cheesy/creamyness - worked well.

Its brilliant feeling this positive again about slimming!

well done on the losses, also lost 2 Ibs...so, yet again 1/2 Ib of my first stone (blinking groundhog day, lol!)But pleased I lost weight!

Well couldn't be bothered cooking so had a normal shopbought Quiche, also, will have wine in a while because a) I need it, b) I deserve it and c) it's our 13th Wedding anniversary ( but dh decided to go to TA....hohum...he doesn't get to go very often now, wiht his new Job)...luckily there is somehting on TV I want to watch!

Kid, more water will be a good idea anyway...also, maybe probiotic supplement or thse Yoghurts might be worth a try!

Sparkler · 10/09/2008 20:16

Hi guys. Can I come back please? I joined Slimming World again on Monday night for the 6th time. How bad is that??!!
I'm doing well on my second day today.
Got lots to keep me motivated at the moment - friend's wedding reception next month, Christmas parties and I'm being Maid of Honour for my sister's wedding in May next year. I refuse to be the fat one in the wedding party.

3andnomore · 10/09/2008 20:24

Sparkler...great when you have something motivating you
I am going "home" to Germany next summer to visit family and I WILL be at my target weight by then...I don't think I could cope with family saying, well meaning , oh your mum never told us you are pregnant again...
that was what I got last time...

3andnomore · 10/09/2008 20:28

Quark tastes great with banana, btw...blend Banana and Quark together with possibly some vanilla essence and sweetener!
btw, Quark is really just kind of Fromage Frais...in Germany it is in the Yoghurt section, not the cheese one...

Nemoandthefishes · 10/09/2008 20:48

well I put 1/2lb on this week but considering all the rubbish I have eaten and how bad I have been feeling I am quite pleased with that!!! Going for 3.5lbs next week to make for my stone.

3andnomore · 10/09/2008 20:54

you can do that nemo...!!!

melbob · 10/09/2008 21:29

Ok I lost another 1.5lb which I am pleased about but what does it take to loose more. I have done 2 all superfree days orgoinal on others no syns

kid · 10/09/2008 22:48

I haven't done a single red day in 12 days, green days are so much easier for me. I do wonder if red days will speed up weight loss (although my 4lb loss was great!)
I think it was just a big loss being my first week, I'm not expecting as big a loss this week, woudn't mind if it was though.

Couscous is a good food to eat isn't it? I love it, am eating it twice a day at the moment. I will keep a bottle of water with me and keep topping it up. Problem is my job doesn't allow for many toilet breaks so I don't want to be filling my bladder up too much!

Well done to everyone on their losses, we can do it!

3andnomore · 10/09/2008 23:08

couscous s great....once cooked mix in fresh sliced pineapple, tis gorgeous

Furball · 11/09/2008 08:13

kid - I've done a green day everyday since I started in March and have lost 1 1/2 stone. Been abit static for the last month due to holidays, eating out etc. So this week I've thrown myself back in big time and decided to shake things up abit to do all red days. It's been quite interesting finding new things to eat, that on green days you take for granted. Weigh in tonight, here's hoping it's good as I've been super strict.

SWlurker · 11/09/2008 09:49

Great to see so many posts! And good to see you again Sparkler, and you're not alone, I have lost count of the number of times that I have rejoined SW - I'm doing it at home at the moment, but if by the end of September I'm not doing very well I'll be trooping back to class. Last time despite making my wishes clear to my consultant her "helpful" assistant weighed me in on my old sheet, and noted the 11lbs gain since I last weighed in

A good day for me again yesterday, although I forgot to have any healthy extras apart from one B, I had plenty of fromage frais and cottage cheese so am not worried about calcium intake, and reckon I had enough vegetables to make up enough fibre to compensate for the other B

I made a quiche I had found on another website: a packet of cheese and broc pasta & sauce, quark, some cheese & onion smash, made up sloppy with water and mixed 3 eggs in. Topped with sliced tomato and baked at 200 degrees in the oven until set - about 40-50 mins. It made a huge quiche, and because the water cooks the pasta & sauce and some of it must evaporate it was lovely and fluffy! I didn't have any cheese smash so I cheated and sifted the cheese sauce out of a macaroni pasta & sauce to add to it, but synned that at 6 syns, roughly what a packet of cheese sauce would be.

Rounded off the day at 11 syns so I'm pleased with that, although the syns crept up on me unfairly, I feel

Got HM soup for today, yummy!

Hello, I am a newbie, hoping to be welcomed into your freindly and supportive group. I lost 2 stone fairly easily with SW, but couldnt keep it off. I have put back a stone and need new ideas, new recipes and help with planning!

lechuga · 11/09/2008 17:39

hi all,
am back on the Slimming world wagon. does anybody who goes/is going tonight to a class know if you can have the new

Ryvita Limbos Snacks as a HE B like you can with the Ryvita Mini? they're in a few flavours including Cheese & Onion. I just chwecked out their value on the website and it says an 18g bag is 3 syns?

thanks xx

oldcrock · 11/09/2008 20:26

hi - can I join you too? Have joined SW for 1st time and have lost 7lbs so far after only 2 weeks! Not finding it that hard to stick to so far... but have another 1.5 stone or so to go.

FairLadyRantALot · 11/09/2008 21:18

wow Furball, well done
Hi to all the new people

BTW, it's 3andnomore...but felt like a namechange

Got a minicourse at University tomorrow....so, no idea how it will all work out with SW meals...but will try my best ...
Once I start at University properly I will take a packed lunch, but tomorrow that probably isn't a good idea...

Btw...any Lunchbox ideas would be greatfully received, please!
My ideas sort of run out after
Sandwich
Couscous/Rice/Pasta- salads
Salads in general
Quiches

but like I said if you have ideas, please, let me know

SWlurker · 12/09/2008 11:52

Another hello to all the new and new/old faces! 3anm I ought to change my name, I keep thinking it means I'm lurking around the same weight!

Hmm ok well yesterday was another 11 syns day but I feel a bit annoyed that I ate SO much. Does anyone else find that when you start/restart this plan, even though you eat so much you get really hungry for the next meal? e.g. yesterday I had soup, then was still hungry so cous cous, an hour or two later I was hungry again so ate again... had tea early because had a night course and when I got home I was starving AGAIN!! I presume (hope) its because my metabolism is kick starting.

Need to do one or two red days this week but not sure when/how, as when I eat a lot of meat I feel ill, so they will probably be more like superfree days, but that should hopefully help the weight to go! I'm also on a really tight budget so any tips on cheaper red days woudl be great.

OP posts:
FairLadyRantALot · 12/09/2008 18:29

superfree days sounds good...I think I need one of those...didn't have a real SW day today...as went to an INduction course for Mature students at University and for lunch there was a buffet...but nothing that I could somehow tie in with SW....didn't have much, so hopefully that made up for it ...
Once I start studying properly I will definately take pack ups...we probably have a kitchen area we can use, so, if I don't want to prepare a lot I can just take Mugshots and the likes, I suppose....and hopefully we can use the fridge, then I can take Yoghurts, etc...even in warm weather!

SW....when I feel particularly hungry I try to eat superfree.freefoods....Yoghurts tend to be my favourite

nikkid21 · 12/09/2008 21:03

hi all - can I come back again ?

I recognise a lot of the names from last time I was on here. Which was in May when I hit target after losing just over 2st. I then stupidly stopped going to classes and thought that I would relax over the summer hols.

Weighed in last week and was 7lb over target so i'm back on the wagon again. Lost 3 1/2 lb last week, so have to lose at least 1 lb to be in zone and not pay. But would really like to get back to target (and be in the 11st somethings rather than 12st).

I'm having lots of the quark quiche at the moment (4 eggs, tub of quark plus whatever veg or meat you fancy with a HeA of cheese on top). Also butternut squash soup which is only 1.5 syns for the whole thing - does me 3 good meals if I add meat or pasta depending on which day.

seweasytoslim · 12/09/2008 22:15

Nikkid, can you post the recipe for Butternut squash soup? Sounds yummee. Im not having much luck with the SW quiche, no matter how much Frylite i spray on the baking tray, it always falls to bits when I try to get it off, after cooking. What am I doing wrong?
