SWlurker you are our leader! it was you who started the thread, don't leave us now!
have you tried changing the balance of fruit and veg you eat? eg if you eat a lot of fruit cut down a bit and eat more veg instead.
I have been eating a lot of salads on red days which I know sounds dull but has been ok. I do them with warm chicken and bacon and cook the meat with some schwarz piri piri seasoning which makes it really spicy. Use some parmesan cheese as a healthy extra and you can hardly taste the lettuce at all!

Nemoandthefishes · 03/09/2008 22:25

Am going for 3lb this week so have to be super good and do my body magic[wii fit for 50 mins a night]

melbob · 03/09/2008 22:26

Only 1lb off again getting a bit frustrated but.........keep on keeping on. Consultant said only 13 weeks to Xmas!!!!!!

Furball · 04/09/2008 06:58

lol at 'hardly taste the lettuce'

went out for a meal last night to zizzis which is a pizza/pasta place, looked on t'interweb at menu before I went and chose a mixed seafood pasta dish or a vegetarian pasta dish, couldn't decide. Got there and they've changed the menu so was abit put out as by then really fancied the seafood. Nearly went for a rissotto but plumped for a calzone (whats the difference between that an a pizza?) anyway, that was full of hot air, so very SW friendly and then looked at the puddings and OMG is was gorgous! hot banana on a waffle with toffee and chocolate sauce with a dollop of ice cream, so had that. god knows what that'll do for weigh in tonight, but it's the only decent pudding I have had for 6 months, the only one (and I've only had a few) where I've thought yep, that was worth it.

Pinkjenny - started in May so that's been over 17 weeks.

Anyone seen this month's mag yet? I had to recheck the age of the voiceover woman, there's no way she's 43!

May have the recipe somewhere, unless dh has gone on another manic recycling spree...

Pinkjenny · 04/09/2008 13:05

Great going weblette.

Can anyone tell me why Mullerice is so high in syns!!! Especially as I'm in the middle of eating one and don't really want to stop.

Pinkjenny · 04/09/2008 13:11

Too late, I've eaten it. Bringing my syn value for today to 15. This is going to be a baaaaad week, I can feel it.

Pinkjenny · 04/09/2008 13:59

Just flicked through the mag. Some lovely recipes in there.

3andnomore · 04/09/2008 13:59

Sticktoit:
Meatballs in Tomato sauce

4 garlic cloves
1Ibs2oz/511g lean Pork mince
1tsp cumin
2tsp ground cinnamon
1 onion
1 carrot
2 celery stick
fry light
700g Passata
1tsp artificial sweetener
a small handful of parsley

  1. peel and crush 3 of the garlic cloves, place in a bowl with the mince, cumin and cinnamon and using your fingers mix until well combined. Cover and chill for about 1 hour to allow the flavours to develop.

  2. Meanwhile peel and finally chop the onion and carrot; peel and crush the remaining garlic,; finally chop the celery sticks. Place in a pan sprayed with frylight and fry for 5-6 minutes. Stir in the passata and sweetener, bring to the boil, reduce the heat, cover and simmer for 25-30 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  3. Shape the mince mixture into small meatballs. Cook half of the meetballs in a large frying pan sprayed with fry light for 2-3 minutes on each side or until cooked through.Drain on kitchenpaper and repeat with teh remaining meetballs . Add the meatballs to the sauce and heat through. Chop the parsley, scatter over teh meatballs and serve!

andyrobo237 · 04/09/2008 20:14

SWlurker - you are back!!! Dont defect to WW - I tried it and found counting all those points a pain in the a**e!!

Nemo - great going there - did you put back on any that you had lost before - keep up the good work - we are getting a Wii for Xmas as a family present and I have already asked for the Wii-fit board as well!! Going to do my salsa dance DVD in a mo - after the Teco online shop!

I need to lose 5 lb before I go in for my leg op on the 15th - so that is half a pound a day! Going to stick to mainly red days and as few syns as I can get away with not having! My BMI was borderline for being a day case so I am assuming they will weigh me on the day to calculate the amount of anaesthetic needed, so I really have to be extra good - I will keep you posted of my loses - this is one week when I need to weigh daily!!!!!

So many of us have been ;off the bandwagon' with the summer hols - I dont work Mondays so usually stick DS in his buggy and go for a good hour long brisk walk - but not done it for the last 8 weeks, as DD wouldnt entertain that level of walking! One of the mums at school is a SW consultant and says that Sept is her busiest time with new and lapsed members - more so than January! Havent seen her yet as been on course (which has stopped me picking as been stuck in a conference room for 2 days and the same tomorrow!).

babyjjbaby · 04/09/2008 20:19

oh i real want a wii and wii fit board both my sisters have got them but they don't use them but won't sell it 2 me lol

3andnomore · 04/09/2008 21:20

oh yes wii and wii fit....will be our family christmas present ( I...erm we decided )///So, boys will only get little stocking filler kind of presents individually!...but they will love the wii, I hope!

toadette · 05/09/2008 10:51

Hi everyone

Well done on all the losses this week.

Today's my first proper day back on SW plan. Feeling very motivated and have been out shopping and got lots of fruit, veg, yoghurts and quorn sausages! No wine this weekend as I'm running a 10k so that will get me off to a good start hopefully as it will save some syns.

I have some chicken to use up tonight, does anyone have a tasty curry or casserole-y type recipe I could try out. Will probably be on a green day and using the chicken as a HE so that I can have lots of potatoes or rice with it.
