Tommy · 02/09/2008 09:28

oh dear.... I have continued my holiday eating pattern this week and haven't even got on the scales this morning

I'm finding it very difficult at the moment - mostly because we're quite busy still and we're doing a lot of eating on the run. I know I will get back on track when the DSs go back to school on Thurs but I'm worried I have undone all my good work!

weblette · 02/09/2008 09:33

HI all, popping back in again. Weigh in this afternoon after 4 weeks holiday - we go to France every Summer for a month

Should have lost a pound or so, despite hitting the bottle when the "guests" from hell stayed with us.

One fab discovery in France... they do all sorts of yummy cheeses like Brie and Camembert in 5% versions. Have brought loads back, have to make it last!

Tommy, don't worry. Think we all need to get routine back.

Furball · 02/09/2008 09:36

I'm still here. Been away for a week, which wasn't exactly sw friendly but not too wild food wise. Jumper straight back into it and have only been having 1 or 2 syns per day to put me straight. i have a another stone to go and need to move things along.

Did anyone watch dragons den last night? a lady was trying to promote her fat free all green on the traffic light system and only 1 point per serving curry sauces!! no additives either. Has anyone tried them? you can get them either direct, but a postage charge or from budgens, which I think I'll have to de-tour soon to pick up a few jars.

sticktoit · 02/09/2008 10:49

Furball, I saw Dragons Den and felt sorry for that lady, the sauces are such a good idea.

I am going to get some in defo. Not sure if I have a Budgens by me. I'll have to ask around.

Pinkjenny · 02/09/2008 10:50

Morning ladies, weigh in this evening, always find the first one nerve wracking.

notsoteenagemum · 02/09/2008 10:57

Hello feeling pleased coz lost 4lbs after 1st week back on plan despite Bacardifest on Saturday night.
Start work tomorrow, must remember to eat breakfast or will pick on staffroom syns.
Good luck and well done.

RockinSockBunnies · 02/09/2008 16:51

Hi everyone,

I'm a newbie to this thread, but have been doing Slimming World for past couple of months and lost just over a stone. Been away on holiday, completely blown the diet and am now attempting to undo the damage! Does anyone have the most recent password?

Thanks

slightlycrumpled · 02/09/2008 20:44

Hello can I join please? I need to loose about two stone. I have done slimming world in the past and did fairly well.

I have got all my old books out and will join a group next week.

I know I need to loose weight as apart from undoing the button on my jeans when I sit down, I also have to undo the zip!!!!

Furball · 02/09/2008 21:34

well done heavy - you'll have to change your name to lighty soon!

melbob · 03/09/2008 01:03

Hi SMH&R are you sure you haven't entered my size and wt loss, would be nice to do this along side someone who has similar goals. Weigh in 5 tomorrow and not sure of outcome but have stuck to plan

SWlurker · 03/09/2008 08:18

Hello

Anyone remember me? The very bad slimmer?!
I can't decide whether or not to rejoin & restart SW or whether to try shudders weight watchers or something instead, I'm kinda a bit worried that I've eaten SW type food for years (and way too many syns ) so I wonder if my body is just completely fed up of green days and needs a change? Anyone been in a similar situation?

OP posts:
melaswa · 03/09/2008 09:02

Hi swlurker, I can't decide either...why not do it from home and do one week of each?

Pinkjenny · 03/09/2008 09:29

OK so I lost 2.5lb. Which I thought was pretty shit for my first week so I'm a bit disappointed.

Furball · 03/09/2008 09:48

pinkjenny - don't be disappointed! 2 1/2 lbs is 2 1/2 lbs. I only lost 3 in my first week and it kept me on the straight and narrow and I lost 1/2 stone in 3! It's in the right direction, be proud.

Pinkjenny · 03/09/2008 09:53

Aw thanks furball. I have such a sedentary lifestyle, drive everywhere etc etc, think I need to start taking some exercise to speed up my weight loss, perhaps.

I'm also going to stay with another MNer at the weekend, so I am worried about veering off the straight and narrow. 2.5lb isn't a lot, it could be easily back on if I indulge this weekend.

Furball · 03/09/2008 09:58

SWlurker - have been there so know how you feel. Don't do what I did, give up and put it all back on then have to start over 3 years down the line. Do you think a shake up of recipes would help? Maybe switch to a few red days a week to give varierty. have you seen this site for ideas? how about everyone post their favourite red and green meal so we all get abit of new ideas. Also now summer has gone (was it ever here?) we can start looking a comforting stews and caseroles with loads of veg for a change.

I've done WW, but you have to count everything (well most things including fruit) and yes it works and it teaches you more portion control for the future, it's how you spend your daily points that make the difference

Even this time round I have stayed the same for 2 months as I've been fannying about. I've decided that I'm going to be strict for 4 weeks and try and get most of this last stone off. repeat after me I want to lose another stone

toadette · 03/09/2008 10:24

Hi SWlurker, I'm rejoining SW this week after taking the whole summer off plan, waahhhh!!! Was going to consider WW but to be honest can't be bother with all that counting points and food just starts to look like a sum on a plate....

Why not start afresh at SW again. I'm going to rejoin at a different class, new leader, get new books etc. Going try to get into the frame of mind that this is a brand NEW diet plan for me and endeavour to leave all my old SW-cheaty behaviours behind me in the past (like...oh, those extra treats and wine really do show up on the scales even if they don't appear on my saintly-looking food diary).

weblette · 03/09/2008 11:14

Two and a half off yesterday So only half a pound to a stone and a half. Very pleased with that.

Pinkjenny, however you feel about much you lost, it's still weight that's GONE!!!! Well done!

Pinkjenny · 03/09/2008 11:19

That website is aces!!!!

Thanks weblette - congrats to you as well!!! How long has that taken you???

SWlurker · 03/09/2008 15:00

Thanks Toadette and furball Good to see you two again!

Furball - give up for 3 years and start from scratch again is EXACTLY what I have done!!!!

I was thinking more red days but I am on a really tight budget these days, and they don't suit me very well (I feel quite ill on them for some reason, but they do boost my losses).

Same goes for classes with budget, I am going to try doing it from home with my new digital scales! I am "allocating" myself £5 a week for either class or special SW food that wouldn't have othereise fitted in my miserly food budget I also bought a cheap SW book "eating seasons" or something, which I need to get to grips with for inspiration.

What I need to do is belt up and find my motivation again... oh and my memory, which lasts all day long until I get home at night then goes to bed before I do, and deserts me at weekends to go for long weekends away in the sun

Well, maybe today is the first day of the more determined me. So far I have had;

very small portion muesli (note to self need to buy kitchen scales to check) and milk (B&A), tin of veg soup (not sure how many syns, but its very low in sugar and fat), homemade chilled gazpacho soup (free) and a packet of tomato cous cous at 2 syns. Dinner will be... I don't know what yet.

OP posts:
3andnomore · 03/09/2008 16:35

Well....had my weigh in today and lost nothing... amd getting a bit fed up with it all right now....there was no reason why I shouldn't have lost any weight this week...sigh...normally I lose weight so quickly , this tme it's such a slow slog...sigh!
I have bought another 12 for the price of 10 sessions....but if things don't improve I might change over to WW agains!
When doing WW I did the no-count option, where you don't really count...in your meals you can eat as many free foods as you want...but if you eat a free food at another time, than you hae to count it's pointvalue, this worked fab for me, BUT it sometimes made me eat when I wasn't hungry, because I would eat that fatfree yoghurt at mealtimes, instead of later when would have to give it point vsalue...if that makes sense at all,....I did try points (their original system) but it didn't work for me at all, I was eating rubbish stuff and didn't like spending points on healthy foods...lol....!
Thing is, eating plan wise I do prefer SW really, but can't explain wy it's so bloody hard to lose weihg this time, sigh....

Hohum!

Wohoo to all of you who have lost weight, though..I am , but pleased for you
