Hi there ladies

Hope you're having a good start to the weekend.

Today I ate:
50g sultana bran & 1/4 ss milk
l:carrot and chickpea soup; 1/4 of dd crossiant with low sug jam
s: box small raisins; apple;1/2 roll with olives
d:chicken; cous cous, parsnip crips; mini quorn egg.

I'm off again for a few days tomorrow and won't be back until Wed/Thurs evening so unfortunately I'll be missing weigh in on monday. see you later xxx

iamamummy · 12/08/2008 09:34

hiya ladies!!

sorry not been on all weekend my mum has been visiting.

well had a weigh in yesterday....and....drum roll pleeaasssee....11 stone 12!!

2 pound loss and i am no longer on that hideous number 12 - hope it stays that way!

so how are you all doing? did you all have a good weekend?

OP posts:
LostGirl · 12/08/2008 13:43

Congratulations!!!! That's a great achievement! I am doing terribly as currently don't seem to have time to eat properly (yes, shite excuse I know) and am living on carbs. Will face the measuring tape next week and face the awful truth. Where is LLL? I need to hear her cross trainer updates as they always motivate me to get off my lazy backside!

iamamummy · 13/08/2008 10:59

aw i no what its like when time is not on your side its easier to grab a bag of crisps of kfc in my case

im not an exercise fan myself so cant give you any words of wisdom that would help.

however i hopped on the scales this morning - weighed in at 11 stone 9 thats a 3 pound loss in 1 day - so i had breakfast and then checked again - still 11.9?!!

yesterday i had

cheese and coleslaw sandwich with crisps.

chilli con carne and garlic bread with 1/2 botle of wine.

god knows how that has happened - although my scales have probably packed up knowing my luck. will measure inches later to see if i have shrunk.

OP posts:
LostGirl · 13/08/2008 11:34

STEP AWAY FROM THE SCALES!!!! Seriously, don't do it more than once a week, it's scarily easy to get addicted to and is not healthy as your weight can fluctuate hugely in the space of a day due to fluid etc.

carly88 · 13/08/2008 13:31

Hiya all!!!

I really want to start losing weight but i can never cut out the takeaways or the crisps! I am 5'8 and weigh nearly 14 stone :O used to be size 10/12 now 14/16.

the only exercise i do is if i go out walking. but that gets boring by myself all the time lol.

seems like you girls are doing a better job then i am. my daughter is 17 months old and i still havent shed any weight, i lose some then it goes straight back on.

Ambi · 17/08/2008 18:05

Hello,

I'm back! and serious about it now. Just got back from holiday and have put on too much weight, I'm heavier than I was after baby was born .

Back to work tomorrow, which will bring a new healthy diet. We will be kitting out our garage with gym equipment. DH is very good at keeping fit, and misses the gym since he stopped his membership to save money whilst I've been on ML. I'm hoping he'll be good at motivating me as I'm crap at any motivation.

We've decided on a new mediterranean diet, with loads of fresh fruit and veg, pasta and bread. We're going for taste, good quality produce, low fat and smaller portions compared with the cheap crap I've been scoffing! I'm going to continue drinking tea and coffee, but using skimmed milk, and more green tea than before, other than that will be water.

So here goes; my awful number is 13.1 and my first goal is 12st, I want to be a size 12 eventually, I don't want to lose any of my curves though. My weigh day will be Mon mornings.

iamamummy · 18/08/2008 11:28

ambi welcome back!!

your new diet sounds delish! i have just been doing smaller portions and more fruit and veg.

weighed in this morning at 11 stone 9 but i really do think my scales are SERIOUSLY faulty so im buying a new battery today and will weigh again tomorrow.

Hi there ladies

glad you're still around. congrats iamamummy on the weight loss. that's amazing. good luck with the weigh in tomorrow.

welcome back ambi

good to see lostgirl still around too.

just come back after a week away visiting various relatives and have at times strayed from the path. but overall not too bad. although i haven't lost any and have appeared to have put on 3 lbs. i think this might be because i weighed this morning though and was snacking last night! so i think it maybe water. may weigh again tomorrow to check.

anyway. back to no snacking in the evenings and watching portion size etc

good to be back

I think my stomach (not the jellybelly sadly, the body organ) has shrunk, success! This is the point I get to a few days into the diet ( god I hate that word) where I don't feel hungry now the portion size has decreased, or if I have a big meal, my next meal is small so practically a snack.

twinkle you are so good measuring what you eat, I just try to half what I'd normally eat and if I'm not satisfied have a little bit more.

My problem is now trying to vary my foods otherwise I get bored, but I'm doing ok with it so far, just made lunch for tomorrow, a Greek salad and strawberries with low fat vanilla yogurt (so delish, tastes like cream). Hope everyone is doing ok and if you've fallen off the wagon then I hope you've done it in style

twinklelittlestar · 21/08/2008 20:27

Fell off the wagon yesterday Ambi! In style too but it was my birthday so perhaps there's an excuse. I wont list it all but i had several bars of chocolate and a chinese! Was lovely. Back to the straight and narrow today though! Although i always find it a little difficult to get back into the swing of things after a 'blowout'!

Greek salad and strawberries sound nice for lunch. What kind of low fat yog are you using?

i'm trying not to snack this eve!

LostGirl · 21/08/2008 20:27

Fallen off the wagon Ambi? Plummeted like a stone whilst eating an entire box of mini brownies. Congratulations to yourself though, and Iamamummy and twinkle for continued dedication and success. Have got to wean myself off my white bread addiction but it is sooo hard. What else could I put marmite on that will taste half as good?!

twinklelittlestar · 25/08/2008 20:43

Hi

am starting again today x

iamamummy · 26/08/2008 15:05

Hello, please can I join? I have a 3 month old son. Been dieting since he was 2 days old and dropped 2 or 3 dress sizes but got a helluva long way to go. Getting married next July so want to look fabulous.

I want to lose about 2 or 3 stone, too.

G2B · 26/08/2008 16:37

Pleeeeeeeeeeease can someone stop me eating the crisps I have in my hand. Quick, say something

twinklelittlestar · 26/08/2008 22:47

Hi there

welcome G2B did you have all the crisps? I know what you mean sometimes you just want someone to pull you back from the edge! They are only crisps though and sometimes i think it's good to have something you want.

Hi iamamummy I realised that I had got to the point where i started again weight wise and have been snacking again in the evening! I have been struggling. Still am really although i've had a reasonable couple of days now though although i've still been eating bits and pieces in the evening.

gonna hang around though and see if i still can't shift this last stone etc. iamamummy i am sure we can do it! i need the will power too! I resorted to having 2 bowls of apricot wheats a day with ss milk and then a proper meal in the evening. i seem to need to impose boundaries on myself with food to make it work! at least to start with.

lostgirl how ya doin? you still with us?

x

G2B · 27/08/2008 10:50

Twinkle- I managed to put the crisps down and ate a few handfulls of cheerios instead. I thought that was a little better. I wouldn't have minded having a treat had I not eaten a dominos pizza the night before I'm trying hard now though. At the moment I'm eating healthy through the day and then having a normal tea with my DP. It seems to be working ok. I need to buy some scales though!!

LostGirl · 29/08/2008 18:45
twinklelittlestar · 02/09/2008 00:46

Hi there

GB2 sorry for delayed response. good on ya for swapping for cheerios! Hows it been going since. I've not had too much success so far this week weighed in today at 9.7 stones. so i am starting again... keep saying that! Had a reasonably good day today though. Caught sight of myself in a mirror in sainsbury's this evening and thought... i've really got to shift this extra weight. i'm not really that big but big for me size 14. used to be 8/10 and the thing that bothers me most is when i put on weight it really goes to my face. this is what i want to shift more than anything.

anyway lostgirl maltesers are one of the 'better' chocolates to snack on. maltesers are 'light'! gorgeous! glad you're still around.

xx

LostGirl · 02/09/2008 08:06

Hi Twinkle, glad someone is still around! Bad week as PMT combined with family holiday = lots of chocolate, cake and general snacking! Have had a caouple of carb and choc free days to break the habit and am now settling back to routine! I'm like you, a 14, don't think my hips will ever see a 10 again, but a 12 would be nice!

iamamummy · 02/09/2008 09:41

hiya ladies

sorry i have been absent, turns out my scales were wrong and i am 12 stone 4 so thats officially 2 flippin pounds heavier than when we first began!!!
