shedding baby weight....anyone else want to join?

so ds is 5 months and the endless days of sitting around cuddling him and staring in amazement have taken its toll, the pounds are piling on!!!

my aim is to lose 2 stone. we are also ttc no.2 so want to do it the healthy eating way.

does anyone care to join me and offer eachother support and encouragement?

i start tomorrow!!

Lostgirl the heat is stiffling! I think my dd may wake in the night as she usually does when it gets as hot as this.

today.
b:50g sultana bran
s:muller light and apple; 1/2 organic cereal bar
l:ham and avocado sandwich wholemeal bread.muller light and raspberries.
d:chicken stir fry 2 petit filous.

I am showing 4 lb UP this morning, god knows how, perhaps I am retaining fluid because of the heat? bloody well hope so, I've def not eaten enough to have put on proper weight!

Yesterday - we went to the Silverstone Classic and boy was it hot hot hot!

B - 2 wholemeal toast and flora light
S - approx 6-8 of Ds's chips, 2 small soft whippy ice-cream cones.
L - white soft roll (140 cals) with salad and ham
D - Leftover golden rice from Saturday and a couple of spoonfuls of chilli.

To much diet coke and not enough water

Need to drink lots of water from now till wednesday weigh-in and hopefully flush out the bad stuff. Will do XT tonight.

Today I am having/had

B - large banana, activia fat free yoghurt
(finished off ds's rice krispies approx 1/2 an ounce with semi must get out of this bad habit
L - will be homemade veg soup, 2 ryvita with cottage cheese, tomato and pickle.
D - will be tuna steak, spinach, baby corn, carrots and 3 new potatoes

sorry for neglecting you past few days all back on track now!!

lisa sorry about the 4 pound gain - probably is water retention, maybe sit out in the sun and sweat it out

twinkle - how are you keeping? i tried you paella recipe - was i meant to cook the rice before adding it to the stock? we cooked it for 2 hours - i added about 4 times the amount of stock needed and the rice flippin stayed like a rock! most dissapointing as the flavours were mmmmmmmmm so will attempt it again but part cook the rice first.

mrsmcjnr - welcome my dear friend we are not doing anything in particular just trying to be healthy and weigh in on mondays!

this week i am not bothering as i just feel fat! have not eaten that much but had a massive bbq fest yesterday and few cheeky ciders

i have 5 weeks until i start swimming with ds so really would LOVE to shed a stone before then!

so far this morning
apple
tomato soup and a roll for lunch
salad and tuna pittas for dinner this evening
NO SNACKING!!

LLL sure it must be water etc you've been doing so well with your eating and XT. You know it will come off.

I don't like my new digital scales at all. They say that i've put on 1lb and now weigh 9.5 arghh . while my trusted old companions say that although I haven't lost I haven't gained and place me at 9.2 LOL!! [Hmm].

At some point I will have to ditch my old companions though and start getting on better with this digital malarkey! I'm not surprised but a little disappointed but i know i've been eating more snacks during the day this week. Today though I've been back on track and still haven't been snacking in evening so that's good. I am more determined than ever now! I can't go backwards... Need to cut down snacks in day and portion sizes.

LLL i too have been snacking on my dd leftovers! I think i'll have to make a decision not to go there.

iamamummy glad you are back! Was missing you! shame about the paella don't understand it...always just put in the rice and then add the stock bring to boil and then simmer/cook for 25 mins. maybe it depends on the type of rice you have? we use uncle bens wholewheat variety.

I am off to spend some time at my parents with my dd for a few days so I wont be able to join you but I'll look forward to catching up when I get back.

I am back down to the same weight as last wednesday now phew! so its looking like a stay the same week for me.

Did 40 mins on the XT last night, burnt off 400 cals and did 3.05 miles

I haven't been on for a while, but then my eating habits have been dreadful too, so here goes. I always decide things as I'm in bed trying to sleep, then give in by morning. [weak emoticon]
My White bread consumption has been dreadful, toast for brekkie and sarnies for lunch, so that is the first thing to go.
The next thing to change is portion control. I need to spend the next few days in almost detox to shrink my stomach size then eat small portions at mealtimes.
I need to cut out the glass ( or 2) of wine at night. Which is a new habit I seem to have taken up as a treat once the baby is asleep.
Once those are regular habits then I'll start some exercise. I've recorded some yoga too from body in balance on sky but never actually done them so now's the time to get my ass onto gear.
you all seem to be doing pretty well, hopefully I will be able to catch up.

so far today i have had cup of tea and 4 jammy dodgers
apple
slim fast shake
1 litre flavoured fizzy water

for dinner we are having fresh ravioli salad and healthy eating garlic bread.

just if any one is interested (im probably crazy) but i have foound THE best snack - chopped up slices of crispy lettuce (after you peel about 6 layers off) with kraft 5% fat honey and mustard salad dressing drizzled over it is mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Thanks LLL I think writing it all down really is key, and planning too but the trouble is, with my DS being weaned, I already feel like there is a lot of food planning going on so I?ll try to make wise choices and write down what I eat and start planning in a few weeks time when things get easier someone told me once that if you put washing up liquid on your kids leftovers immediately, it stops you from eating them!! Congrats on the weight loss this week!

Congrats on the weight loss LLL. How is it going? Any tips?

Just got back from mums. had a good few days there and no snacking in eve and not bad during the days and loads of walking with dd in the sling but i did finish my dd icecream! couldn't resist!

today:
b:shreddies with raisins inside 50g & 1/4 pt ss milk
s:4 pear halves
l:2 slices wholemeal bread and low sugar blackcurrant jam; small portion scrambled egg;
small flap jack 75cals;
s: 1/2 my daughters croissant.
d:2 chicken thighs (i also ate the skin!; jacket potato and salad; 2 petit filous and some mango.

not too bad today but not sure about portion size this evening. Need to have another kick start though & either exerice or drop portion size.

LLL Sounds like you had a good time at the hen weekend!

According to my digital scales I have lost 2lb. So i'm pleased about that although it weighs me in at 9.4. So in a weird way I'm sort of back where I started at the beginning of this thread (although altogether i've lost 4llbs). I want to get down to 9 stone in the first instance.

today:
b:apricot mini shreddies 50g & 1/4 ss milk
l:2 slices wholemeal bread and apricot low sug jam. 1 crumpet with marg and low sug jam (was my dd and she did not eat it!); apricot muller light. You can see an apricot theme!
d:vegetable bake

just bumping our thread - everyone seems to have left

been sooo busy lately and no time to catch up with you all.

twinkle - not long now til you reach your target! tried the paella again last night - it was dodgy rice, i tried to cook it first in my rice cooker and it still didnt cook so i just chucked in plain old long grain rice and it was delish!!

i am now on the 12 stone mark so i think i have lost 1lb this week - slow progress but thats good i am guessing?!

got a big night out with the girls next friday so want to slim down so i can wear my skinny black jeans

hello!
I have been Very Norty and eaten a lot of Bad Things.
Followed by lots of skipping supper (or having v small supper)
Anyway the sum total of all that is... Nada. Nil. No weight gained or lost. Still 72.5kg.

In other news, I appear to have cellulite on my arms. I did not know this was possible.

Off on holiday next week. Will try and eat properly this time.

Iamamummy: bottle of wine and crips, pah: I had a huge bar of chocolate for tea last night!

Congratulations sallyforth on having eaten lots of bad things and not gained anything, hurrah!! I too have cellulite on my arms unfortunately, though it seems to come and go. Why do shops never seem to sell t-shirts with sleeves long enough to cover the bingo wing, but short enough to stay cool?!

Hows everyone doing this eve?

I am still meandering along and as i thought no-one was around have been a little lax with my snacking! although still not snacking in the evening . Although my portion sizes have increased alittle and breakfast as run into lunch on occasions! And continental cheese has made a reappearance... can we start again?

today:
b: 50g sultana bran & then 3 oat biscuits with low sug jam
l: 2 slices bread and 2 slices ham and 1 mini brie portion and 1 mini emental.
s: left over organics crisps from dd snack; 1/2 dd croissant;
d:chicken and apricot tagine and rice with salad.
