10lbs on over the summer after reaching target in June 🙈 Anyone want to join me in getting back to a healthy BMI and then maintaining!

I'm so frustrated with myself. I worked so hard for literally years (on and off) to finally get to my goal weight of 9st 12lb in June. And what have I done? Completely sabotaged myself over the summer by bingeing, secret eating, not so secret eating, avoiding the gym, avoiding the scales and just generally making "fuck it" choices. Anyway, as a result I've gained nearly a stone and I am back to being overweight 😭 This is a pattern that has repeated again and again over my adult life. I can lose weight, but really struggle to maintain. I have been everywhere between 18st and 9.5st over the last 20 years and really don't want to be moving back to obesity. I am 42 on Saturday and more than anything just want to be healthy and confident as I get older.

So the long and short of it is I want to lose 10lbs, so that I am safely back in a helathy weight bracket and then stay there! So if anyone is up for the journey with me and some shared accountability and support please do join me.

I am going to do a weigh in every Wednesday.

Starting weight: 07/09/26: 10st 7lbs
Goal Weight: 9st 12lb

I will join you! But I'm currently eating cookies, so not until tomorrow

Starting weight - 07/09/2026 12st
Goal weight - 10st

Can I join? Am in much more need but starting worth 12.6lbs and goal - not really sure yet but I think 10.7ish.

If I get to 11 something that is lighter than I have been in a decade, if I get to 10 something then better still.

Byron1990 · 07/09/2026 13:55

I’ll join too. Current weight 9st 10, goal is 8st 10. Started to eat better as of last week because I was feeling terrible after a summer of too many meals and ice creams!

beetlebum84 · 07/09/2026 14:03

Thanks for joining me everyone. Glad to have some company 😊

Hi all,

Hope everyone's first few days have gone well.

I've made a good start. Went to a gym class on Monday and have been for big walks both days.

I'm not being hugely restrictive with food, but I'm back to eating mindfully and have avoided any bingeing or overeating.

First Wednesday weigh-in and I'm 3lbs down 🥳 I realise this will be mostly water weight after eating my body weight in McDonald's, sweets and bread at the weekend, but still a good motivation.

Target weight: 9st 12lbs
Starting weight: 10st 7lbs

09/09/26: 10st 4lbs

It's my birthday on Saturday, so I envisage additional calories! 🙈 but I'm going to try my best to celebrate without going completely wild!

Ill join too. Piled half a stone on over the summer after losing it for my holiday in the spring. Keep losing and gaining the same half a stone. Mid 40s.

Current weight 10 stone 7
Goal weight 9 stone 7

beetlebum84 · 09/09/2026 12:13

Welcome @Stripybag52 I'm exactly the same! I need to stop the Yo-yoing!

I’m in. Not near any scales, but will be 150ish and can be - when I’m good -140ish. That 10lbs makes such a difference to how I look & feel! I’m 5ft 4ins and 51 years.

Byron1990 · 09/09/2026 16:44

Wow that’s a brilliant loss, well done you! I’ve not weighed myself because it’s the time of the month so I know it won’t be accurate, hoping by this weekend time next week I’ll have lost a least a couple of pounds

beetlebum84 · 09/09/2026 21:26

Thank you @Byron1990 and welcome along @misobeautiful😊

Wow, 3lbs is quite some inspiration here!
I'll join starting at 11st 13lb wanting to achieve 10st 7lb.
A summer of too many barbecues with alcohol thrown in.

FiveShelties · 09/09/2026 23:05

I keep joining these threads! This time I am going to be sucessful.

I am 10st 12.4pounds and want to be 10st 2pounds so just a fraction over 10 pounds to go. I also need to stop the yoyo dieting and just get on with losing the weight. Definitely need to reduce the wine intake😁

beetlebum84 · 10/09/2026 07:34

Welcome @FiveShelties and @Penkie 😊 Glad to have people with me. Hoping this thread can keep us all motivated.

New week...How's everyone getting on?

I had a pretty indulgent birthday (brunch and cake on Saturday and pub roast and pudding on Sunday) but didn't spiral into a proper binge, which is a win.

I woke up this morning tempted to keep the birthday eating going for an extra day, but had a word with myself and got myself down the gym instead.

Happy Birthday @beetlebum84 Can I join please? I’ve read through the thread and can totally relate to the struggles!

I am middle aged, 10st 8lb, should be no more than 9st 6lb so about a stone to lose too. Fed up with having no clothes to wear as I’m always about to ‘slim into them’ but never manage it. I’m totally going off alcohol for a month too, as it’s responsible for a big part of my downfall with all the empty calories.

beetlebum84 · Yesterday 11:43

Thank you @iamyourequal 😊 and of course you can join.

I can 100% relate to the clothes. I held on to a selection of "skinny clothes" for absolutely years. I finally got to goal, tried them on and they were all so dated that I took them to the charity shop!

Good luck. We've all got this!

Happy belated birthday!🎉
Can I join? I too put on 10lbs over the summer, 7 of those were on holiday. Pretty impressive weigh gain for two weeks! 😬
My plan of action is to record everything that goes in my mouth. Limit the booze to the weekends only. No crisps. More gym.

beetlebum84 · Yesterday 12:12

Of course you can @KitschIntoKitchen and thank you for the birthday wishes 😊

My summer weight gain was also over a short spell of holiday excess! Fingers crossed it comes off as quickly as it went on! 🤞🤞🤞

Happy birthday. I weighed on saturday morning and had lost a pound. But had a big roast dinner for tea yesterday so dread to think what ive put on. Just cant resist roast potatoes! My plan is to log all food and weigh on Saturdays (keeps me on track Friday nights). Up until two weeks ago I was running three times a week but thanks to some kind of hip injury I can only walk so got to be really careful not to overeat now. Absolutely gutted about not being able to run though. another joy of getting older- dodgy hip and getting fat!

Caillieach · Yesterday 16:09

May I join please? I lost 5 stone on Mounjaro, came off at the end of July and lost 2lbs. Now I see the pounds creeping on slowly. I have 6lbs to 9lbs to lose and I am determined that it is staying off this time.

5 ft 4 in
9st 11lbs
Age 55

beetlebum84 · Yesterday 19:14

Thank you @Stripybag52. Sounds like a good plan and well done on your loss (we'll ignore the potatoes! They're irresistible!)
Sorry to hear about your hip that must be very frustrating.

Of course @Caillieach welcome along. A 5 stone is amazing! Congratulations

I think my estimate must have been slightly wrong previously

Today:11st 10lbs
Goal: 10st

I will not be eating any biscuits at work today and there will be no snacking after my dinner

beetlebum84 · Today 13:09

@OriginalSkang looking back at your original post, that's a brilliant loss. I had a big drop too, initially and now things have slowed. So count the success.

Well done and good luck avoiding the biscuits 😁
