10lbs on over the summer after reaching target in June 🙈 Anyone want to join me in getting back to a healthy BMI and then maintaining!

I'm so frustrated with myself. I worked so hard for literally years (on and off) to finally get to my goal weight of 9st 12lb in June. And what have I done? Completely sabotaged myself over the summer by bingeing, secret eating, not so secret eating, avoiding the gym, avoiding the scales and just generally making "fuck it" choices. Anyway, as a result I've gained nearly a stone and I am back to being overweight 😭 This is a pattern that has repeated again and again over my adult life. I can lose weight, but really struggle to maintain. I have been everywhere between 18st and 9.5st over the last 20 years and really don't want to be moving back to obesity. I am 42 on Saturday and more than anything just want to be healthy and confident as I get older.

So the long and short of it is I want to lose 10lbs, so that I am safely back in a helathy weight bracket and then stay there! So if anyone is up for the journey with me and some shared accountability and support please do join me.

I am going to do a weigh in every Wednesday.

Starting weight: 07/09/26: 10st 7lbs
Goal Weight: 9st 12lb

Ahhh! Back up a lb! 😭 I'm blaming menstruation! But my god, this process is frustrating! I just want to throw in the towel and gorge on junk, but I won't.

Glad to hear everyone else is having more success. Fingers crossed things level out for me next week.

You are super close - it’s always a bit up ans down - bloody hormones!

Bromatic · 17/10/2026 22:52

You will get there - hormones make such a difference. Hope you are all doing well x

Way hey - great to see. You are nearly at your target:)

beetlebum84 · 18/10/2026 09:35

I'm sure I'll continue to go up and down again before then, but if I can give myself a bit of a buffer, it doesn't matter of I go up and down a few lbs.

It's the maintaining that I find harder than anything. Need to try really hard this time to not get complacent.

Yeah - I have lost 2/3 stones probably three ish times in my life but this needs to be the last gain and get rid cycle. Not least coz it’s making me wrinkly now!

It needs to be proper lifestyle change which for now I seem to be making having lost it sensibly. Am 11.9 today so only 4lbs off the top of my bmi.

beetlebum84 · 18/10/2026 13:56

Yes, I'm the same. I've yo-yoed my entire adult life and definitely need to get a hold of things.

Over the last few years I've been better at getting back on track after a stone rather than gaining 5 stone! But still. Definitely need to learn to maintain!

It’s bizarre isn’t it? It must be easier to maintain. I have put it in more slowly over the last decade but have just got a bit heaver each year which normalises it!
Yes to maintaining (after I have lost a bit more…)
You have done brilliantly!

beetlebum84 · 18/10/2026 14:43

Thank you. You've doing brilliantly too 😊

Bit of a whoosh week this week! Just over 3.5lbs down 😊 and 0.4lbs from my original target of 9st 12lbs. I've decided to adjust my target to 9st 10lbs to give me some wiggle room. Once there, the aim is to stay between 9st 8lbs and 9st 12bs and in a healthy bmi (which is easier said than done!).

Target weight: 9st 10lbs
Starting weight: 10st 7lbs

09/09/26: 10st 4lbs
16/09/26: 10st 2.4lbs
24/09/26: 10st 1.8lbs
30/09/26: 10st 3.8lbs 😭
07/10/26: 10st 1lb
14/10/26: 10st 2lb 🙄
21/10/26: 9st 12.4lbs 🥳

Way hey well done! That is great. Sounds like a great plan going forward.

I went up to 11.10 but might not look for a few days as jumped off the plan into crisps, chocolate fondants and a lot of butter! Oh yeah and booze!

This week will be better!

Bromatic · 23/10/2026 08:04

11.9 today - was expecting lots worse as have dodged the scales this week so onwards and downwards. Glad my blip did little harm!

beetlebum84 · 23/10/2026 11:30

Thanks @Bromatic we all have those blips (well I certainly do, anyway!). Glad it's not done too much damage and well done for getting back on top of things 😊 You're doing great x
