Good idea. I am planning to carry on going to my classes once I reach my goal weight, because I am a bit nervous about going mad, eating everything in sight that I shouldn't, and piling it all back on again. That's exactly what I did before about 9 years ago. I slimmed down to 8st 2lbs after having dd2, but managed to pile it all on plus another stone and a half in a fraction of the time. I couldn't bear to do it again!

its horrible isnt it?, im so fed up of being fat, but if i ever get slim(mer), i spend the rest of my life terrified ill put it all(and more) back on..saying that, just to know what it would be like to be slim just once would mean the world to me

miam · 31/01/2005 21:30

Don't say 'if' Evesmama - you WILL be slim, and you WILL keep it off. I know you can do it, if I can anyone can. And ofcourse, I did not have the support of everyone on mn back then, when I piled it on again. It makes such a big difference.

Evesmama · 31/01/2005 21:33

i know it does doesnt it
i feel like im 'going to a club' in some ways, but i dont have to feel like im going to the dentist each week(wrong term..considering)
and i think if i didnt have the support on here, id have fallen by the wayside by now
so thanks all you young, slim chick things

marj · 31/01/2005 21:41

Well done miam! 5lbs is amazing. What have you been eating? It was you doing Rosemary Conley wasnt it? Just wondered what she tells you to do. Is it low fat or something else.
Good on you Yorkiegirl, I hope that I will be posting a 3 stone weight loss one day!

Everyone is doing so well!

I'm sure I would have given up by now if it wasn't for these threads. Everytime I'm feeling ready to give up I log on here and feel all inspired and motivated again. Thanks everyone!

miam · 01/02/2005 13:25

I love this thread - I look forward to seeing how everyone is getting on each day.

Marj, the RC diet is basically a low-fat, calorie controlled diet. The first two weeks are extra strict to get you off to a flying start. No foods with fat content over 4%/100g then that ups to 5% after the first 2wks. To be honest though, considering this is the 'strict' part I am on, I am amazed at how much I can eat! My meals today i.e. are Breakfast - 3/4oz fruit & fibre, 1 yoghurt, 1 pear. Lunch - Baked potatoe with cottage cheese (I had pineapple yummy). Dinner - Quorn & vegetable stir-fry with rice. On top of that I can have 2 extra pieces fruit, or substitute one for a low-fat yogurt, 3/4pt of sem-skimmed milk which is a lot and an extra salad with dressing. I have never had the salad as can't fit it in! You have to also drink 5 large glasses of water daily. After next week I will be allowed alcohol yippeeeee!!!! But it definately works and I am really enjoying it. The other great thing is that the class holds an exercise session at no extra charge. We did salsa exercises last night - great fun (and I could show off because I have been learning salsa!) And guess what - I actually got up at 7.30 this morning and went jogging!!!! Thankfully it was still dark so no-one could see my face turning purple!

Oh, I'd definately go for no. 2!!

Or, maybe 1.

Or, possibly 3......

Why can't you do them all? Go shopping first, then relax once you are all shopped-out with the pampering treatment and then you will be looking fabulous for the meal with dh in the evening!!!! But if you can only have one, then no. 2 it has to be. Just some time for you and you alone. Lovely.

BethAndHerBrood · 01/02/2005 19:24

It's quiet on here tonight, where is everybody?!

MunchedTooManyMarsLady · 01/02/2005 19:36

I have my weigh in tomorrow. Not looking forward to it. Not had a good couple of days. Been racing around and not eating properly. As long as I have lost some or stayed the same I'll be happy, but I have a feeling that I'm going to be a little gutted and embarrassed tomorrow, especially as I wanted to lose 2lbs. Ah well... no point worrying. I've gotten rid of most of the rubbish food in the house so that I can't be tempted. Not convinced though. I think I'm gonna try to give up alcohol for Lent (that'll be a BIG challenge). So.... about to put the DTs to bed, nothing on the box this evening so I may have to practise my dancing otherwise I'll look for things to eat.

BethAndHerBrood · 01/02/2005 19:46

Marslady - Give up alcohol???? That's a bit extreme, isn't it?? I'd rather give up food!!!!

MunchedTooManyMarsLady · 01/02/2005 19:55

I know!!! But it may help me with my weight loss [hope springs eternal emoticon]

BethAndHerBrood · 01/02/2005 20:01

I've got the nibbles. What shall i have....?

I don't think i can face another piece of fruit!

Evesmama · 01/02/2005 20:32

are you on s.w beth? cos i can help you out with ideas there, been on and off it for years so know it inside out?

BethAndHerBrood · 01/02/2005 20:34

Go on then - throw those ideas at me!! I am really working at leaving the GREAT BIG bucket of maltesers alone that are in the kitchen!!

Fennel · 01/02/2005 20:36

raw carrot instead of fruit?
cottage cheese?
dried fruit?

am not sure if whatever diet you are on permits these. personally I find a glass of wine stops the nibbles - the nights I don't have a drink, I nibble far more....

Fennel · 01/02/2005 20:39

I always get hungriest in the evenings, I know you're supposed to not eat much after about 5pm but it doesn't work for me.

Maybe you could just go to bed early to avoid nibbling?

Fennel · 01/02/2005 20:40

now I am just thinking about maltesers. off to check our kitchen cupboards for something sweet....

Evesmama · 01/02/2005 20:40

right ho.........
s.w chips(familier with them?)
mushy peas or beans
and slice of bread from healthy extra(and butter if sins left)..lovely seemingly naughty chip butty

or even garlic and s.w chips(garlic made from a garlic clove added too very low fat fromage frais or quark and blended...mmm..v.strong!
also nice with crab sticks dipped in!

muller light blomonge(sp)..make up s.f jelly minus last third of boiling water, allow to cool..add muller light..blend then add last third of liquid, but instead of water use diet tango..can use any combo of flavour to suit you..i like lemon and lime muller, lime jelly and lemon tango

erm..........

BethAndHerBrood · 01/02/2005 20:41

Can't go to bed early, wouldn't be able MN!!!!
