Hello Again Everyone 🤩

Welcome to the May thread for recording your daily steps!
Everyone welcome, whatever your goal is and however you track it 😃

I feel May is going to be a trickier month for me, as I am on holiday for 2 weeks (and plan on spending most of it horizontal in the sun 🤣) however I will still be aiming for 10k where I can and joining in with the accountability.

This thread previously has been so motivational and encouraging so I just know May is going to be another awesome month for everyone, with lots of lovely sunny walks incoming!! ☀️

@Onegramatatime I would love to put trackers on my children but as they are adults I think they may protest 😀 I may have to go sit in the playground and wait for a suitable tech savvy toddler to come along.
Got out of bed without a groan today so my body has forgiven me for the extra exercise I've been doing. Managed 14,594 steps today.
Have a great weekend everyone.

Good day today! Hoping to continue over the weekend

minnymoobear · 16/05/2026 00:10

Forgot to add photo of today - 12250 steps and bit all Apple Watch goals. Working on being consistent with walking and increasing the Apple Watch rings

Steps yesterday 7784.

Spent yesterday at a funeral. Whole day affair. Very sad.

Joolly2 · 16/05/2026 23:06

@Onegramatatime sincere condolences. Funerals can be very tough, be kind to yourself. Well done for getting any steps at all.
I didn't realise how close I was to 10k or I would have put a bit more effort in. I blame Eurovision.

Sorry to hear @Onegramatatime, hope you’re ok xx

No outdoor walk today, but used walking pad and walking around the living room to get to 10k steps - was a challenge and deffo should have gotten out earlier in the day to get some sun and steps!

Hi all
didn’t hit steps goals today but got on treadmill to hit Apple Watch goals, so happy with that as it took enough effort to do that today! Increases my move and exercise goals a bit too this week as I’m going for consistency first and then challenge and push myself more as I get used to doing more.

Hope everyone else getting on well going into a new week!

Just made it to 10,000. Pleased with that as the weather has been awful. Too late to take photo. My watch has reset to zero. 😬
Hope everyone has had a great weekend.

Onegramatatime · 18/05/2026 03:23

@Joolly2 and @minnymoobear , thanks.

10410 steps today.

I have been a little bit 'uninterested' in life for the past couple of days but this evening started actually feeling instead of being numb/frozen. So yesterday, Saturday, i only did 3762 steps. Friday did 7784 steps.

Chocolattcoffeecup · 18/05/2026 07:24

I just made it to 10K yesterday and literally stepped on the spot in my house with the tv on. I had clearly not had an active day otherwise! On Saturday, I did over 22K as I did park run but I also ran there and walked back so was about 7 miles overall. Today I'm working from home but going to try to do them all day so I'm not left doing 7000 steps in one go 😂

I need to do the school run so that will give me some!

10kstepsaday · 18/05/2026 07:30

Hope you are ok @Onegramatatime

We have had a child in hospital situation (all ok) but it means I have been distracted and not worn my watch.

Well done everyone!! @Chocolattcoffeecupi can't imagine running before and after park run!! Although in my younger years I used to cycle there and back. I really need to improve my fitness back up!

@Onegramatatime Flowers

Just over 15000 yesterday and slightly under 13000 on Saturday, however likely to be much lower today as work is getting in the way. My knees and ankles are super stiff in the mornings, but they were like that prior to upping steps so don’t think it’s related.

Illbefinejustbloodyfine · 18/05/2026 22:32

Evening all. Good to see everyone doing so well.

My steps have fallen off a cliff this past week or two. Ive had a lot going on, court for divorce finances, waiting to recieve the order, and, thank god, getting my final order through. I havent been running, or even walking, so my steps have consisted purely of my everyday movement. Varying between 5.5k (sunday, laid on sofa all day , thinking..) and 13k (did a lot of housework) several days less than 10k though.

Need a swift kick up the arse.

Joolly2 · 18/05/2026 23:44

@Illbefinejustbloodyfine you must be under so much stress, once it is all sorted it will be a massive weight off your shoulders. Until then I don't think steps are your priority, be kind to yourself. No kick up the arse required.
@10kstepsaday sorry to hear about your child, hope all is well now.
@Clearingaspace I'm suffering to with my hip. I over did the chair squats yesterday and I'm paying for it today.
10,135 steps today and I felt everyone of them. 🙁

@Onegramatatime I wish there was a hug emoji, you sound as though you could use one. Wishing you well.

SilenceInside · Yesterday 00:12

Realised that I haven’t updated this week at all, I’ve mostly made it over the 10k but had a couple of dodgy days. Managed 10.5k today.

Lots going on here ladies so well done to everyone whose still been active - it’s hard enough for me on a normal day so huge respect and sending lots of strength your way x

Hit it today by going to gym and did 2 classes but of outdoor walking and much more movement than previously used to do! It’s weird to see how totally inactive I was before this - since April been making a huge effort with moving and exercise inc steps and just walking to definitely a boost to see numbers going up and body feeling better

Hi all , hope everyone is good. I haven't disappeared I've just been having a crazy time at work and not getting much sleep. I have got my steps in every day except one! I will try to catch up x

Onegramatatime · Yesterday 02:53

Thanks @10kstepsaday , and @Clearingaspace, thank-you.

@10kstepsaday , is DC back home or still in hospital? Wishing DC a quick recovery.

@Clearingaspace , please do forgive me if this is a silly question... why are your ankle stiff in the morning? Does is get swollen? Do you have the same with knees and fingers? You sound calm about it, so think you have had it checked out. Sorry you have that in the mornings.

@Joolly2 , i really appreciate that. I am starting to get better. I had a hug from a stranger today. It was very much needed. The most unexpected encounter. I didn't say anything personal about myself but the person seemed to sense something and asked if okay they gave me a hug. Sorry about your hip. Look after yourself.

@Illbefinejustbloodyfine , so lovely to read from you. I did notice we hadn't read from you in a while and i suspected it was to do with that. I had you in mind a d continually wished you were okay. So things are almost coming to an end? Well done. I agree, do what you need to do to get through this. You can always pick up on your steps when things ease up.

@minnymoobear , lovely reading your post. And quite encouraging. Good job and fantastic to read your body is feeling better.

@OrientalPrinceInTheLandOfSoup , you sound so busy and like things are full on. Look after yourself.

Steps today 15,668.

Clearingaspace · Yesterday 16:55

@Onegramatatime thank you, i actually think you are right and I need to see the GP - I did start to get aches in my hands but that stopped when I started hrt. Yesterday I went up and down A Lot of flights of stairs and I have really been feeling it today, I can cope with it when it’s temporary in the morning- but not all day! One of my legs is permanently slightly swollen just above the ankle (where my socks stop compression maybe?) but I don’t think it’s connected. My parents both have mild - moderate arthritis, I’m not sure if it’s that or a combination of small ailments!

my step average for the past 7 days is 13300 - I am very happy with that, but I think it makes sense to not aim above 10000 for now. It’s annoying as my energy has really benefited from walking more.

well done @OrientalPrinceInTheLandOfSoup on keeping steps up during busy work period; and also to everyone keeping their steps and exercise up!

minnymoobear · Yesterday 23:14

Hope your ankle is feeling better @Clearingaspace - deffo get to doctor and get it checked out. I’ve been more in the last 18 months than in the last ten years! Menopause is the gift that keeps giving 🤪

over 10k today but now away for a few days so no idea if steps will go up or down- will try my best!

Joolly2 · Yesterday 23:27

12,263 steps today. Not really noticed any hip pain today so I think it may have been due to over exertion on Sunday.
I've just realised that my fruit and veg count is averaging 3/4 each day. I'm not claiming they are all a portion, some are very small amounts but significantly more than before I joined this group. At this rate I'll be healthy one day 😄
@Clearingaspace have you tried elevating your legs when seated, it may help with your swelling? I agree with others a GP appointment may be a wise.
