⭐️OPEN TO ALL⭐️ Weight Loss, Wellbeing & Motivation Thread To Support Healthy Habits.

Following on from ⭐️LOSE IT! Active April 2026⭐️

I blinked and missed April 🙃. Apologies for my absence; the month passed by so quickly! I’m feeling a little bit more human and absolutely doing my best to move more and eat well.

Jumping into May LOSE IT! - To reach optimum health and vitality (as well as a trim body) we need to focus not only on our food intake; but movement, our mental health and sleep quality too!

Who doesn’t want to feel good and energetic as well looking great!

Get on board to reset & refresh and become a healthier version of yourself.

These threads are for those who’d like to lose weight and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We have a WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable) that’s based on several sensible principles including:-

  1. Eat a variety of real whole foods such as fresh vegetables, salad, berries, beans, nuts, eggs, lean meat, good fats etc.
  2. Reduce sugars, simple carbs, alcohol and UPFs.
  3. Plan your meals & log your intake. Also be mindful of portion control.
  4. Intermittent fasting - research suggests (Zoe study) that adhering to an eating window of 10 hours can have a positive effect on health, wellbeing and weight loss. I personally have a eating window of approximately 7hrs - 12:00 - 19:00.
  5. Stay hydrated! 💧
  6. Move as much as able. Particularly strength based exercise. Muscle keeps you strong as well as revs up your metabolism.
  7. Get the fibre in! Great for your gut biome as well as 💩
  8. SLEEP! Good sleep hygiene and a regularly sleep routine can be beneficial to weight loss. I’m always more hungry following poor sleep.
  9. Be mindful about your own mental wellbeing and try not to eat your feelings. We’ve all been there!
  10. Be kind to yourself! ❤️ One or two slip ups won’t undo all your previous efforts. Just check-in with yourself, reinforce your good intentions and carry on.

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost over 3 stone.
After having been on the wrong side of 12st Im now hovering around 9st 3lbs.

Are you in?😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

Any recipes/workouts that have worked for you, you’d like to share?

After my initial 2lb loss overnight, I've gained 1lb. Not surprisingly though, had a weekend of eating drinking and being merry. Feeling bloated.
SW 14.4
CW 14.3
GW 10.10
Must do better. Tomorrow is another day.

FridayNighFeeling · 26/05/2026 18:53

Hi all, hope you haven't melted! Been away/still away but hoping to be back on plan on Thursday with a gym visit and food shop. Will see what the scales say then.

Good luck for all doing WOW tomorrow

LemonDrizzle23 · 27/05/2026 06:21

Morning WOWers. Desperately uncomfortable night here, although it seems cooler this morning. Today’s WOW might be just dehydration at this point 😂

SW: 15 st 8
CW: 13 st 9.6

Hopefully in the next couple of WOWs itll be the full two stone off. I have treated myself to a lovely new yoga mat as a “two stone off” gift, but haven’t used it just yet!

I hope everyone is surviving the heat. I’m not a fan of it being over 30C when I don’t have aircon…

TheWayTheLightFalls · 27/05/2026 06:36

Morning! 66.1kg today, happily under goal. The heat killed my appetite yesterday, so that’s one thing at least.

Good luck Wowers!

Hlglu56 · 27/05/2026 06:43

Current weight: 11 stone (3lb gain!)

start weight: 11st 7

Goal Weight: 10 stone

I’ve had an amazing bank holiday weekend but a shocker for dieting so it’s no surprise I’ve put on, although I hope some is water weight. I’ve had two barbecues that included burgers, pasta salads and halloumi, then fish and chips another night because I didn’t fancy cooking in the heat. I’ve also had lots of fruit cider and Pimms. I’m also due on any day so feeling very bloated and hungry all the time.

I’m so disappointed in myself. I didn’t just have the odd treat, I really caved in to temptation and have snacked most of the weekend. The heat always makes me crave salty crisps and nuts.

On the plus side my exercise has been good this week. I did my three strength workouts, did loads of walking and a 16 mile bike ride on Saturday.

Fellsbells · 27/05/2026 06:58

Morning wowers. I’m 3lbs down this week. Feeling better for losing the water weight from my period. I’ve had a good week eating well and can already feel the difference. I’m in a slight calorie deficit of around 200 a day. Anymore and I’m ravenous so I’m playing the long game.

Pasta4Dinner · 27/05/2026 08:00

SW:89kg
CW: 79.7kg
GW: 69kg

back in the 70s after going up into the 80s again for a few days, significantly cooler here today and we are off out including dinner. Hopefully won’t effect things too much.

socks1107 · 27/05/2026 08:13

Morning all.

Im not weighing today, I'm so puffy from the heat it will be an increase which I know is just water but I don’t want to see it. Will hop in again on Saturday when it’s cooler.

Goodluck to everyone weighing today

moondip · 27/05/2026 12:20

Hi everyone.

Thanks for the tip @OrangeJellySnakes I could swap to My Fitness Pal for a bit!

I forgot to weigh this morning but will try to remember tomorrow instead. Well done everyone for checking in and staying accountable despite this difficult heat 🥵

ChunkyMonkey36 · 27/05/2026 12:21

2lbs off this week.

I’m frustratingly 0.5lbs off getting 1st. This coming week is the week I see that though I’d imagine!

SW: 106.1kg (16st 10lbs)
CW: 99.6kg (15st 10.5lbs)
Initial GW: 92.1kg (14st 7lbs)

Total lost - (6.5kg) 13.5lbs

PipkinOfPepper · 27/05/2026 13:01

Checking in for WOW!

SW: 111.05kg on 4th January
CW: 95.7kg
GW: 78-80kg ish

I've been on holiday and then sleeping awfully due to the heat - and I'm horribly premenstrual - so I was expecting horrors on the scale this week. However the dieting gods have taken pity on me and the number is still slowly going down, probably helped by the litres of water I'm downing every day and trying to get some more steps in (tricky when it's so hot though).

I've now lost over 15kg which feels great. Less great is that I'm already noticing loose skin, but I figure there's not much I can do about that at this point, and I'd rather be saggy skinned than massively obese.

Meetmeunderthemoonlight · 27/05/2026 13:43

Checking in for WOW

3lbs off this week

Current weight 12 stone 1lbs
Goal weight 10 stone

This heat has me like a big expanded blob of jelly. On the plus side I'm drinking lots of water and existing on salad, fruit, chicken and fish mainly.

Good luck everyone

BreakingBroken · 27/05/2026 16:36

WOW
SW: 186.6
CW: 171.7
GW: 140
i look forward to 169.9 and have spotted a little top that I’ll reward myself once I get under 170.
those struggling with the heat and water retention; the heat won’t last, the water retention will pass.

Meetmeunderthemoonlight · 27/05/2026 17:21

@BreakingBroken

the water retention will pass.

Literally 🤣

TheRealHousewife · 27/05/2026 20:18

Evening you lovely lot … does this heat make anyone else feel rubbish? Feel like I’ve been hit by a bus.

I put a pair of socks and a thin pair of cotton pjs in the freezer yesterday and when I put them before bed, it really helped me get off to sleep last night. 😴

WOW - 2lb on 😮 Shiver me timbers!

Menu
Meal 1 - Chickpea and feta salad. Pecans.
Meal 2 - Chicken & boiled egg salad. Seeded crackers. Willies dark orange chocolate 😋.
Drinks - Tea, black coffee and water.

Congratulations on those of you who’ve lost weight and also to those who may not have lost (including gained) but remain accountable and motivated to carry on 👏👍👌

Oh, I love that freezer idea!!! I also had some yummy pecans today - love them 😋

TheRealHousewife · 27/05/2026 20:37

Hi @moondip I put the pjs and socks in a bag first … don’t want any freezer stuff sticking to it 😬 I love pecans and if having in a salad it really enhances the texture and flavour if I gently toast in a naked pan (no fat, oil or butter) Delicious 😋

Seeds and nuts are my downfall always, I seriously overeat them. Peanuts are my least favorite so that’s what I currently have stocked for dh.
Today’s workout to help maintain muscle. A walk that includes this beastly section. Ahhh the pic won’t upload. 100+ steps straight up!

TheWayTheLightFalls · 28/05/2026 06:03

Morning! Seems a bit cooler today. Just as well as I have a weightlifting session this morning and I would be a liability in heat like the last few days.

Hope everyone has a good day there.

FridayNighFeeling · 28/05/2026 07:56

I've weighed Shock 6lbs on during one week off "plan" apparently. I know that's not accurate. The salty lunch, the later eating, the heat and travelling etc will all play a part.

7 weeks till our holiday so will see what the scales say on saturday for a more accurate picture and then go from there.

Off to class this morning: weights/HiiT - thankfully we have an aircon @TheWayTheLightFalls

ScarletMane · 28/05/2026 08:32

I weighed in yesterday but honestly felt really frustrated to have gone up 2lbs! I did lean into the BH weekend probably more than I should have so it's not a surprise but I think I'm feeling down at the challenge of striking the balance of having an enjoyable summer whilst also keeping momentum with the weight loss.. I know it's a marathon, not a sprint but I feel like I've hit such a slump with it all.

I try to avoid calorie counting so have got this far with a no carb/low carb/balanced meal combo each day, but I was wondering what everyone else's method is? Xxx

JustOneMoreMargarita · 28/05/2026 11:47

I was a couple of lbs up yesterday too. We were away for a night / lots of socialising over the weekend so I’m drawing a line and getting myself slowly back on track. Also blaming the heat - I swear it’s making me heavier

Meetmeunderthemoonlight · 28/05/2026 12:06

@ScarletMane I use Nutracheck to calorie count. To be honest I've not used it for a few weeks now as I'm waiting on them providing a lower annual offer. So just keeping an eye on things myself for now.

namechangefor2mins · 28/05/2026 12:33

I hit the gym this morning at 8am. Walked 30 mins uphill then worked 20 mins on arms. It felt so good to start the day off like that. Usually I go to the gym in the evening but often talk myself out of going.

Today
B Greek yogurt, nuts, seeds and honey
L Protein sourdough bread with soft cheese and strawberries And a diet coke.
D Grilled chicken salad

Hope everyone is a little cooler today

KnackeredBookseller · 28/05/2026 12:39

Decided to stop lurking and get on the scales and join in. 13 stone ffs!
Absolutely not calculating my BMI.
Aiming for 10 stone. Was 9 stone 4 at my lightest but that was after WeightWatchers so was starving all the time. And I was still in my twenties.
Perimenopause is not being kind.
Planning smaller portions, focus on protein and fibre, kind of Mediterranean diet approach.
No eating after 6pm. Staying off booze (I rarely drink anyway). Walking more.
Good luck everyone!
