⭐️OPEN TO ALL⭐️ Weight Loss, Wellbeing & Motivation Thread To Support Healthy Habits.

Following on from ⭐️LOSE IT! Active April 2026⭐️

I blinked and missed April 🙃. Apologies for my absence; the month passed by so quickly! I’m feeling a little bit more human and absolutely doing my best to move more and eat well.

Jumping into May LOSE IT! - To reach optimum health and vitality (as well as a trim body) we need to focus not only on our food intake; but movement, our mental health and sleep quality too!

Who doesn’t want to feel good and energetic as well looking great!

Get on board to reset & refresh and become a healthier version of yourself.

These threads are for those who’d like to lose weight and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We have a WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable) that’s based on several sensible principles including:-

  1. Eat a variety of real whole foods such as fresh vegetables, salad, berries, beans, nuts, eggs, lean meat, good fats etc.
  2. Reduce sugars, simple carbs, alcohol and UPFs.
  3. Plan your meals & log your intake. Also be mindful of portion control.
  4. Intermittent fasting - research suggests (Zoe study) that adhering to an eating window of 10 hours can have a positive effect on health, wellbeing and weight loss. I personally have a eating window of approximately 7hrs - 12:00 - 19:00.
  5. Stay hydrated! 💧
  6. Move as much as able. Particularly strength based exercise. Muscle keeps you strong as well as revs up your metabolism.
  7. Get the fibre in! Great for your gut biome as well as 💩
  8. SLEEP! Good sleep hygiene and a regularly sleep routine can be beneficial to weight loss. I’m always more hungry following poor sleep.
  9. Be mindful about your own mental wellbeing and try not to eat your feelings. We’ve all been there!
  10. Be kind to yourself! ❤️ One or two slip ups won’t undo all your previous efforts. Just check-in with yourself, reinforce your good intentions and carry on.

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost over 3 stone.
After having been on the wrong side of 12st Im now hovering around 9st 3lbs.

Are you in?😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

Any recipes/workouts that have worked for you, you’d like to share?

MFP tells me that when I eat breakfast in the morning, I eat fewer bad snacks in the evening so I made myself a breakfast this morning and we will see if they are right and I can manage to stick to the plan!

B: cinammon and raisin thin bagel with strawberries

L: falafel salad with no dressing and a lemon iced tea

D: chicken balti (take away curry from m and s) with the Indian starter snack selection

OrangeJellySnakes · 22/05/2026 12:22

Hope those going on holiday have a lovely time!

BreakingBroken · 22/05/2026 19:24

Very rare for me, but yesterday hit my protein and fiber goals.
3000 steps just packing the trailer. Protein shake made and ready.

BreakingBroken · Yesterday 05:28

@OrangeJellySnakes despite 6 hours driving I still managed 14,000 steps.
with B:210 calories, L:170
the lack of willpower for 3 slices of pizza wasn’t a day of disappointment.
My eldest greeted us at the site with pizza and beverages.,

Good morning!

Am I too late to join? I really need some support/motivation/accountability!

After losing a significant amount of weight 6 years ago and being in the best shape of my life, I have slowly put weight back on (still 4 stone from my heaviest which is positive!). I feel really annoyed at myself and I think this affects my mindset!

I just don't know where to start again to get motivated! Do I calorie count, intermittent fast - I start something then give up!

My diet is low on UPFs - although I do love my instant coffee and alcohol at the weekend (wine...I'm going to have to give that up aren't I!?)

Thanks for reading so far and appreciate any advice/motivational comments to get me going!!! I want to be a healthy weight by my 40th next year (which means losing at least 12kg...although I would love to get back to my lowest of 64kg which would be a loss of 16kg!!!).

biscuitcat · Yesterday 19:12

Never too late @LumpySpaceCow! Welcome - it’s a lovely group 💜 wine-wise, I definitely find that it doesn’t help me with weight loss, but I’ll have a glass or two a week as I don’t want to give it up and that feels like a good balance. To be fair, I have small children so even without considering weight loss too much wine makes the next day unpleasant!

I hope everyone is enjoying the sunshine. On holiday now and I’m not especially watching what I’m eating so I’m not anticipating coming home having miraculously dropped half a stone (would that it were), but not going totally mad so I hope that any damage done will be manageable. The food we are eating is delicious so it will also be worth it!

Well i had a slightly odd non-scale victory today whilst buying a new mattress.
According to their weight limits, the last time we bought a new mattress I was technically a “heavier” sleeper and should have bought a firmer mattress to compensate. This time round, apparently I’m now a “regular” sleeper weight. So thats a step in the right direction!
