⭐️OPEN TO ALL⭐️ Weight Loss, Wellbeing & Motivation Thread To Support Healthy Habits.

Following on from ⭐️LOSE IT! Active April 2026⭐️

I blinked and missed April 🙃. Apologies for my absence; the month passed by so quickly! I’m feeling a little bit more human and absolutely doing my best to move more and eat well.

Jumping into May LOSE IT! - To reach optimum health and vitality (as well as a trim body) we need to focus not only on our food intake; but movement, our mental health and sleep quality too!

Who doesn’t want to feel good and energetic as well looking great!

Get on board to reset & refresh and become a healthier version of yourself.

These threads are for those who’d like to lose weight and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We have a WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable) that’s based on several sensible principles including:-

  1. Eat a variety of real whole foods such as fresh vegetables, salad, berries, beans, nuts, eggs, lean meat, good fats etc.
  2. Reduce sugars, simple carbs, alcohol and UPFs.
  3. Plan your meals & log your intake. Also be mindful of portion control.
  4. Intermittent fasting - research suggests (Zoe study) that adhering to an eating window of 10 hours can have a positive effect on health, wellbeing and weight loss. I personally have a eating window of approximately 7hrs - 12:00 - 19:00.
  5. Stay hydrated! 💧
  6. Move as much as able. Particularly strength based exercise. Muscle keeps you strong as well as revs up your metabolism.
  7. Get the fibre in! Great for your gut biome as well as 💩
  8. SLEEP! Good sleep hygiene and a regularly sleep routine can be beneficial to weight loss. I’m always more hungry following poor sleep.
  9. Be mindful about your own mental wellbeing and try not to eat your feelings. We’ve all been there!
  10. Be kind to yourself! ❤️ One or two slip ups won’t undo all your previous efforts. Just check-in with yourself, reinforce your good intentions and carry on.

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost over 3 stone.
After having been on the wrong side of 12st Im now hovering around 9st 3lbs.

Are you in?😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

Any recipes/workouts that have worked for you, you’d like to share?

10 st 13 and half pounds 🤗

Finally under 11st !

I forgot to post last Wednesday, I was still 11st 1 and a half pounds.
I know what works for me now,so it's a question of sticking to it to get down to 10stone.

Happy WOW everyone.

stealthninjamum · 20/05/2026 07:46

I hope everyone is well.

I don’t know where the time has gone, I don’t think I’ve been on these threads for a month.

life has been ridiculously busy, home schooling one autistic child and supporting another through A levels.

im finding it impossible to find the time to log what I eat - especially as I eat so much home made food with lots of plants - and so as well as healthy stuff I eat rubbish. But when I weighed myself this morning I am still 182.5lbs which I’m delighted about as it’s 13st 1/2 lb. Back in February I briefly went into the 12s and so I’m really happy that I have been maintaining weight without putting much thought into it.

Starting weight - 30 October 197 lbs
Today - 182.5lbs

yesterday I made a salad with quinoa, bulgur wheat, parsley, mint, tomatoes, pomegranate, seeds, feta, mint, chickpeas, cucumber. That will be 5 days of lunch. ChatGPT worked out the calories. In future I’ll do a base salad of those elements that can be frozen and I’ll freeze a weeks worth and take them out daily to add stuff like tomatoes and cucumbers tha don’t freeze well.

ScarletMane · 20/05/2026 08:13

Good morning. Happy WOW everyone. I'm down 3lbs today! I've massively cut back on sweet treats and snacking which seems to be making all the difference 🙌

CW - 14st 6lbs
SW - 15st 13lbs
GW - 13st

Pasta4Dinner · 20/05/2026 08:30

SW: 89kg
CW: 79.5kg
GW: around 70kg

79.5kg is actually my Happy Scale goal but I don’t own it yet (if you know what I mean). Excited to see what the next one is, this means I am half way to my goal weight.
Cat woke me up numerous times as he was clingy/hungry, but bleery eyed but off for a walk later.

TheRealHousewife · 20/05/2026 08:32

Good Morning Everyone & Good luck with WOW ❤️

WOW - 9st 2lbs Mainly STS.

How are you all? Gearing up for the warmer weather which is eluding most of us at the moment?

Life and a relapse in health got in the way of sharing updates. Feeling more my self apart from being savaged by mosquitoes. I thought it would be way too cold for them! They don’t usually nibble on me but they’ve had quite a feast.

I’ve mainly stayed on point with my food apart from sharing a Chinese takeaway which to be honest wasn’t great. It tasted artificial iyswim.

I intend to read up on the thread later as I’ve an appointment this morning.

Menu
Meal 1 - Avocado & scrambled egg on gf bread.
Meal 2 - Roast Chicken dinner. Greek yoghurt & nuts/seeds.
Drinks - Tea, black coffee, hibiscus tea and water.

PS - I had this salad last week or so. Roasted Pecan, goats cheese and chickpeas. Very tasty.

Checking in for WOW

start weight (6th April) - 102.6kg
current weight - 98.7
goal weight - 80kg

Still moving slowly in the right direction. Dragged myself out for a 5K run this morning and still being consistent with steps / running / weights. Definitely feel better in myself if a bit tired due to all the exercise,

Only one more GCSE exam for DD this week too so that should give my stress levels a little break. DH and I are going away for a night at half term though which won’t be diet-friendly but I’m sure we’ll go for some nice walks in the sunshine and it’s all about balance, right?

namechangefor2mins · 20/05/2026 09:40

New here - so the WOW on a Tuesday?

SW 14.4
CW 14.2
GW 10.10

I started my low carb yesterday and managed not to snack. I lost 2lb overnight, however appreciate that is water weight. I am used to numbers going in the other direction so a great incentive.

B - Greek yogurt with nuts, seeds and a banana
L - Omelette
D - Baked sweet potato and salad with feta

Pasta4Dinner · 20/05/2026 10:03

@namechangefor2minsits Wednesday! I hope that doesn’t mix up your week!

LemonDrizzle23 · 20/05/2026 10:36

Well I completely missed WOW this morning! DH has gone in to the office on a different day and completely confused me 😂 I will weigh tomorrow.

Well done to everyone tackling the scales!

Meetmeunderthemoonlight · 20/05/2026 11:37

Well my first WOW hasn't went to plan. We went out for dinner last night so it's probably water weight but still Blush

Starting weight 12 stone 1lbs
Current weight 12 stone 4 lbs 🤬
Goal weight 10 stone

I only had a kids portion of fish and chips and a cup of tea. Then went for a hours walk. Saying that I am bloated, constipated and tender so wondering if I am due on. Think I'm in peri so they just come and go when they bloody please these days 😭

moondip · 20/05/2026 11:40

Hello all 😚

It’s a STS this week for me, which I’m pretty relieved about tbh as was expecting a gain. I am really hoping to see the 87s next WoW though!

SW: 102.1kg
CW: 88.3kg
GW: 80kg

@biscuitcat I know what you mean about breastfeeding. I do love the bond and struggled with it so much at the start that I’m not ready to stop yet (and DD isn’t even 12 months yet anyway), BUT I do have a sense it’s kind of gonna be a barrier to getting where I wanna be weight wise. Like the days I’ve really pushed myself calories wise my milk has definitely dwindled. Sigh.

@TheRealHousewife Nice to hear from you - food looks amazing as always!

@namechangefor2mins Welcome! I always find low carb to be a good way to get into weight loss! Hope it continues to go well for you.

ChunkyMonkey36 · 20/05/2026 13:44

A measly 0.5lb off for me this week. But like I said yesterday, I’ll take it.

I’ve been on my “journey” for 8 weeks, and each week has been a loss - even if it’s only been a very small one. It’s all downward, and that will do!

socks1107 · 20/05/2026 16:07

Morning everyone, so I am lurking still and have lost half a pound this week. Happy with anything that isn't a another stall!!!

I am 5lbs away from goal, which I have accepted won't make that much difference to my body now but will change my BMI to healthy and mentally I will have done it, so 5lbs and I'll be at maintenance. Ive actually done 2.5 lbs in 16 days so it is coming off.

I look at myself and still think I am bigger than I had hoped but am wearing a size 8-10 now and 12 in jeans, another stone would probably be great but I have invested in a whole new summer wardrobe and have battled this last stone for 11 months, trickling off as slow as it could so I don't think I have it in me right now. A healthy BMI is where I will stop and maybe review again after new year and just enjoy all my lovely new clothes. Even though it's been a slog this last stone my whole body has changed as I have dropped x2 dresses in that stone so I would assume given the exercise there is some body recomp gone on?

SW 13.13
CW 10.10
GW 10.5

@moondip - STS is a result if you think its going to be a gain :-)

@Meetmeunderthemoonlight - almost certainly fluid and salt etc, keep going and it;ll disappear.

Well done everyone else - some warmer weather due now so we can all enjoy salads!

JustOneMoreMargarita · 20/05/2026 17:16

@socks1107 - so close to goal! That is an amazing overall loss. Well done!

@ChunkyMonkey36 - 8 weeks of consistently losing is great, keep focusing on that downward trend,

@moondip - yeah it’s hard with t he breastfeeding. I only managed 8 months with DD and tbh I didn’t lose much until I stopped. My boobs were so massive (and they are a 34FF anyway)

Welcome @namechangefor2mins - that’s a good start.

Run / weights done for today now. Will go for a little stroll after tea as DD has just informed me she needs conditioner… she has hair down to her bum and it’s her hair wash night so I’m going to have to go get some. Good excuse for more steps though,

FridayNighFeeling · 20/05/2026 18:41

Hmm - 26 1/4 again... bored of the yo yo but will just keep plodding as best I can though we're away for half term for a big birthday celebration so hoping the steps will offset some of the food/travelling.

Well done to all for posting and keeping going. Consistency is more important than perfection (what I tell myself at least)

OrangeJellySnakes · 20/05/2026 19:48

Starting weight 79/80kg
Current weight 62kg
Target weight 58kg

I am hovering around 61/62kg but at that weight, my waist is still massive. I can only just fit in a size 12 and tbh I am more comfortable in a 14. All my weight I take off under 61/62kg goes from my waist and at 58/59kg I fit into a size 10. But this is the hardest bit it seems!

TheGirlWhoLived · 20/05/2026 20:55

Been so busy I haven’t posted but happy with my weigh in this morning! I stayed the same which is completely expected and actually quite happy with no gain!

SW 16st 7
CW 15st 3
GW 10st

an interim goal is under 15st though, but I’m away next week. Thinking of starting slimming world when I’m back for a bit of real life company. Think dh is a bit bored of my food chat tbh

BreakingBroken · 20/05/2026 23:22

Hello, I would like to join/rejoin the Lose It group.
I seriously fell off the proverbial wagon so to speak 2+ years ago.
Weight increase is one issue by bigger concern is my fitness level. I've really let myself go. Judging by my smart scale all my numbers are showing a much older person than i am or feel.
Checked with a Dr. started on some meds but I'm more interested on the fitness aspect, protein, fiber etc etc than the GPL 1 side.
I'm pretty self motivated at this point but can't really chatter about it to friends/family or dh.

LemonDrizzle23 · 21/05/2026 07:03

Right, managed to remember late WOW today. It’s a stay the same for me this week, which is probably fair after a chocolatey weekend.

So close to two stone off and yet so far….

namechangefor2mins · 21/05/2026 10:11

Socks wow, I have found your post very inspiring because your start weight is similar to mine (14.2) and your current weight is my GW. I've been a very snug, size 16 for a two decades, (pre-children 10-12). I feel it is a now or never thing.

Just seeing everyone's loss is going to keep me on the straight and narrow hopefully.

There is a Bodytrax machine at the gym. My metabolic age is 71! BMI 34.8.

I feel it is now or never.

BreakingBroken · 21/05/2026 13:03

Although well into my 60’s I’m not keen on my smart scale readings that suggest my fitness level and my vascular age are 70+.
@namechangefor2mins its a bit of an eye opener.

namechangefor2mins · 21/05/2026 13:11

Breaking yes! on the inside I'm 16 years older than my real age.

biscuitcat · 21/05/2026 17:17

Congratulations @socks1107! I feel as though I’m following your same pattern of some really solid losses and then a big, frustrating stall - and you finally moving past the stall is giving me hope!

Today’s menu:

L - eggs
D - paneer and spinach curry
S - some dry Cheerios and raisins (the height of culinary sophistication…)

We’re off on holiday tomorrow for half term, but in the UK and self catering so I’ve got a supermarket delivery coming and am really not going mad on treats so I hope that I’ll come back not having ballooned. The plan is to be outside all week as it’s meant to be glorious, so hopefully will be keeping active.

Pasta4Dinner · 21/05/2026 18:37

Had a biggish dinner and weight went from 79.5 to 80.4kg this morning. I don’t want an 8 again!

LemonDrizzle23 · 22/05/2026 06:41

Thankfully my period seems to be over and I’m reading a little lighter as a result. Happy Scale tells me I’m now 1.3lbs away from 2 stone loss now.

I’ve bought some tasty but light food for the weekend, as it’s going to be hot!! Need to concentrate on not ruining all my progress during half term. Usually it’s full of days out and sandwiches, but actually DS is going away for a few days, so I might have time for more exercise and better lunches!
