Anyone want to join me in some motivational supportive chat.

I'm 56 and 3.5 stone overweight. I'm 5'2" and weigh 13 stone

Depressingly I've lost this before - in 2019 I lost 2 stone and felt much better and was really disciplined ... and then I stopped and the weight crept back on.

I feel fat, frumpy, unhappy in my clothes and my middle spare tyre feels awful.

If I could lose 2 stone again I'd be thrilled - 3.5 is the dream.

Last time what worked for me was healthy breakfast, green smoothie for lunch and balanced tea. In between meals veg sticks or an oat cake as a snack.

My downfalls are savoury stuff - crisps, cheese, savoury biscuits.

I've been diagnosed as pre diabetic with high blood pressure which I'm hoping will be the kick up the arse I need.

This time I'm trying to up my game with exercise - I have 'treated' myself to about elliptical machine. Horrifyingly on the first day I could only do 2 minutes - I'm up to 15 mins now - I am aiming for 30 mins a day of elliptical/walking.

Anyone want to join me and share what is working for them?

Welcome ☺️

Slow and steady seems to be working for me. I’ve had a few days here and there the past month when I’ve overeaten due to travelling/celebrations etc but to my surprise I’m managing to stay on track overall. I can only guess it is because most days I’m eating more mindfully and healthily and reducing calories, and I’m also trying to walk a lot more. I don’t always make 10K steps a day but I try to get close to it.
My clothes feel a little better on, just a little.

Main thing is I am not starving or depriving myself so it feels sustainable and I hope it is.
Next goal is to commit to regular weight training.

CW 69.8kg
GW 65kg

I’ve just completely blown today after being pretty good most of the week. Croissant for breakfast on way to work- loads of calories. Lunch was OK. Then I had a meal that wasn’t too bad apart from the crisps I then added
My mood has been low, but I need to try not to let that get me off my diet - being overweight does no good for my physical or mental health.

Well tomorrow is weigh in day and a new start. Meanwhile remind myself of the progress I have made.

Stay positive hopefullygoingdown
One treat day (or a few) is ok so long as it’s not the normal 365 days a year.
It helps me to remind myself that up to a few months ago literally everyday was a treat day so I must be doing better now, over the long term, and you are too.

Thank you @ResetMe didn’t put on weight and back on track for the most part.

Starting weight 189 lb (13 stone 7lb)
Current weight 159lb (11 stone 5lb)
Goal weight 140 lb
30 lb loss in total

Been really focused on good food choices and consistent exercise and I've lost 2.6lb this week
