Thanks @thenewaveragebear1983 I think dehydration is a big factor as I don't drink much water as I am always forgetting.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 22/10/2026 06:45

@TalkToTheHand123 even though I know this i still really struggle to drink enough water at the office, whereas at home i am pretty good. It’s like a mental block 🤷‍♀️

I had an ok day yesterday although didn’t hit 100g protein for the first time in quite a few weeks. Surprisingly I could feel it, my appetite was ramped up and I felt ‘wanty’ like I just fancied something and couldn’t place what.

it’s my official weigh in for October for my diet club on Monday so this weekend I am having one last push to have a couple of really good days. Lots of protein and water, lots of veg. I am not drinking alcohol even though I am at a party on Saturday, I am going to be really tight on my calories for a couple more days as I am quite excited to see the scales after 3 weeks. How sad 🤣

Hi all. Ate some spicey food which I should have had more sense to avoid. Waiting for tummy to settle. Weight went down but then back up also. 😔

poorpaws · 23/10/2026 08:32

Hi everyone

just a quickie catchup to see how you all are.

im ok but incredibly tired after long days working. I’ve been eating a lot of chocolate in the evenings and this has to stop.

shopping today, paying deposit on flooring, buying paint, taking a touch lamp back which doesn’t work and just little jobs to keep the project going. The papering is done at last but there’s still an awful lot to do.

i hope you are all well. It’s raining here ☹️

thenewaveragebear1983 · 23/10/2026 21:43

Is the end in sight @poorpaws?

I had a good week but work has been relentlessly busy. I passed my 6 month probation which I must admit 6 months ago I thought would never happen. I have the week off now which I can’t wait for.

I had a bit of a treat night tonight, got a meal deal from Tesco finest but I didn’t have half of it, dh did well on the dauphinois and dessert. No alcohol tonight either. I am still ending up over 2000 calories but I don’t feel like it was out of control and I tracked everything. Tomorrow I will get back on track, I want to to go for a run as well and do a workout.

i have a party tomorrow but it will be chilli and rice rather than beige buffet and I am driving. So shouldn’t be too bad.

@thenewaveragebear1983 I made your cottage pie last night, but without the potatoes as I want it to top jackets. The taste was delicious but the consistency was a bit like baby food and I wonder if I blitzed all the veg up too small. I’ve frozen it this morning and I’m sure on days when Im worn out I’ll be grateful to just cook a potato with the topping already prepared. Thank you, Im sure it will become a regular meal here.

sadly the end of the decorating is still far away. We’ve been working for 28 days on this room (I’m keeping a diary). DD is coming tomorrow to paint the walls and of course they’ll need two coats.

I think I’m losing the plot a bit! We spent ages looking for paint yesterday and I bought some, sat in the car and said to DP this isn’t right we’ll have to go somewhere else. He was not amused but I bought two separate pots of paint completely different colours and I have to decide today before DD comes tomorrow.

Also, when I went to pay for the flooring, I changed my mind and ordered one that had completely been discarded when I first looked 🤷‍♀️. I usually know exactly what I want and I can go straight for it, but I think I’ve got room of doom fatigue and I can’t seem to get my head around anything.

Arriving today is a new dog bed for this room. Because greyhounds have such thin coats I’ve decided I want them off the floor so I bought a bed that they have to step up to and if they like it, I’ve got two more to buy. I’ve also got to choose a blind, a fire and another lamp. That’s another point, when I took the lamp back that was faulty the lady was quite arsey with me. We had plugged it in charged it for two days just to make sure and the bloody thing didn’t work and it was a pain to take back and then she was acting as if Id broken it.

my eating has been horrendous and I am gaining weight weekly and I know this has to stop and I keep telling myself it has to stop and I’ve gone back up to a size 16. You’d think that all the work we’ve done I would be skeletal by now but when it gets to evening and I’m absolutely shattered, I just reached for the chocolate and as you all know I can eat an awful lot of chocolate.

Today will be another working day. I’ve got to make sure all the skirtings and coving are free from wallpaper adhesive. When we had our middle dog, she was terrified overnight and scratched the door to bits so that’s all got to be filled in and painted. I’ve got to caulk the windows, I won’t go on there’s so much to do.

i hope everyone is doing well. It’s pouring with rain here so I doubt we’ll go out as greyhounds hate the rain, plant their feet down and won’t move (so unlike my old collies who would walk for hours in the rain). I suppose it will give us longer to get on with the room of doom and gloom though.

have a great weekend.

I've not posted in a while, been really busy!

@thenewaveragebear1983 it looks like you're doing really well and keeping on track! Finding the balance is hard, to try to enjoy treats but not overdo it and give up completely, but it sounds like you're figuring that out.

@poorpaws you're keeping so busy! Can you just not have chocolate in the house? The first couple of days is always so hard to cut sugar out, but you know from experience that it gets easier.

Still plodding along here. I've pretty much stopped the wegovy pills as of right now, just have a few left (still have another refill though), but want to get, and keep, the weight down without it, preferably. It's given me the focus and reset I needed though.

I'm 1/2 a pound away from my first goal of 155lbs. My ultimate goal is 150lbs. I'm getting there!

28 days? You live at Buckingham Palace?

TalkToTheHand123 · Yesterday 10:57

I made the mistake of going shopping with DP yesterday. Non stop criticism for buying and eating sugary food.
I've been eating a few turkey sandwiches. Currently cooking fish and chips to try use up food in cupboards and freezer. (I'd restocked a few days a go without lowering stock levels very much).

How’s everyone’s weekend been? It’s pretty wild and windy out here and as a result I have barely moved today, I’ve only done 4500 steps! Had a ds football this morning, bit of cleaning, had a nice nap 💤 and did a workout. Dinner was a chicken casserole with pre-made mash (used a Coleman’s sachet for the casserole as well, what a Sloven) and it was delicious 😋 I’ve gone a bit over today but I’m ok with that, I actually did my official weigh in on Friday. I submit to my diet club tomorrow, then I’m going to knuckle down and lock in for the month again with no weigh ins, and go back to my routine.

Weighed in today at 11.3 which is a 5lb loss since 28th September, I’m really pleased with that and i actually think if I’d weighed on Friday I’d have been lower because the weekend has been quite foodie. Still I am happy with that and motivated to get back on the horse again, same again next month would put me under 11st and not far from target
