@Fasttrack2026 that dinner sounds delicious! Please report back 😋

@forgotmyusername1 well done on your milestone!

@poorpaws don't feel like you're letting us down! We are your cheerleaders, and we all fall, we're human! The important thing is to get up, brush yourself off and try again. I'm happy that you're going to try my suggestion, I hope you like it. If not, try something else, tweak it until you find something that you can add to your rotation of meals!
It is really good that your DP is supportive, it really does help.

@thenewaveragebear1983 I'm right there with you in needing more sleep! I'm glad it's almost the weekend so I can catch up a bit. But I need to be better at going to bed earlier.

@TalkToTheHand123 I can imagine burning a good chunk of calories when dancing, let us know how you get on.

I was down just over a pound this morning, it's reassuring that if there's a big gain over a short period of time that is more than likely water weight and can lose it again. Slower than putting it on of course! 🤬

This coming week I plan to not make & eat any gluten free carby type things, I'm craving healthy food right now!

Today was a day of two halves. Because I’m eating so much and can’t seem to stop, I decided to at least move more. I very nearly doubled the length of the dog walk and also managed to do some jobs instead of sitting down. Sadly the good news ends there as this evening after a big dinner and dessert I ate chocolate, the kids sweets and I opened a packet of biscuits 😱. I ever open biscuits as I am incapable of just having a few. I don’t buy them but a few weeks ago a friend left me some at the back door when she called and I was out 🤦🏼‍♀️

unbelievably my neighbour called today with another jar of jam but luckily it was rhubarb and ginger and she knows I hate ginger so she’d brought it for DP.

@HazelNotHungryLC my lunch was lovely, two boiled eggs in burger mayo rolled in iceberg lettuce. I really enjoyed it but sadly it has not stopped me grazing again this evening. I wish I liked avocado as a lot of people use it whilst on a diet but I dislike it intensely.

overall today could have gone a lot better than it did but more movement is one positive. Tomorrow I hope to do a longer walk and some housework so we’ll see what happens.

@TalkToTheHand123I like the idea of dancing to keep fit and lose weight, good luck and keep us informed of your progress.

friday evening is usually wine night for some of you I think, so enjoy!

Hi all, weekend has arrived and on my.net.diary that means I have a few extra calories to eat. Horaay!
I had this amazing side last night with my salmon that I want to share - It was:
1 zucchini into ribbons using a potato peeler, leaving the centre part out (given to the chickens), sprinked very lightly with dried mixed Italian herbs and squished into a tiny little baking pan, like a single serving size. Could use a large oven proof ramekin.
Egg whites from two eggs, I used a stick blender briefly to fluff them up a bit, but probably could just whisk.
Add 1/2 teaspoon of onion powder, a pinch of salt and white pepper
Pour egg whites over Zucchini, squish it all around, and bake for approx 15 mins. This was the same amount of time for the Salmon, so, easy.
Sprinkle with a small amount of parmesan when it comes out of the oven.
This was SO tasty, I can't tell you in words how good this was. Low calories, low carbs, low fat, good protien.
I'm going to buy some liquid egg white today so that I can make it more often.
200% recommend!

Oooh loving all the recipe chat. I saw a nice one with courgette (zucchini) where they made those ribbons and rolled them up into chunky rolls and had some kind of sauce. It looked so pretty, I’ll have to find it. I saw this amazing hotpot recipe yesterday that had a kind of crushed potato and cheese topping, also looked amazing. I love cooking and I love eating. 😋

Don't be too hard on yourself! Weight loss and diet journeys are rarely linear. Small, consistent changes like improving hydration, taking simple daily metabolic/vitamin gummies, and keeping energy levels steady make a huge difference overall.
Keep going, you've got this!

HazelNotHungryLC · 12/09/2026 16:32

@poorpaws I'm glad you enjoyed your lunch! You really don't need avocado in your life to eat healthy, I love it, but I know many people do not.
Can you avoid having the tempting foods in your house? (I'm not calling them bad foods as everything is okay in moderation).
Also have you had any bloodwork lately, to make sure you're not deficient in something as that's almost what it sounds like it could be? (your body craving something, but it's not telling you what!)
Moving more is definitely a good plan and should help, especially if you try to keep yourself busy when the cravings start.
If you haven't had any bloodwork done lately, maybe you should make an appt with your GP?

The zucchini meals/sides sound so good!

I ate too much again last night and got acid reflux again, not bad this time, but not good! I need to focus more on how I'm feeling while eating and slow down, really savour the flavours, so that's going to be my focus today.

Tonight family will be coming over for dinner, I'm going to serve salad (with my homemade dressing), followed by stuffed chicken thighs (stuffed with cream cheese, bacon and spinach), and roasted butternut squash. It's a very filling meal and always goes down well.

@HazelNotHungryLC that sounds so nice.,👌
my son did his exam today and so dinner is his choice, so we are having ‘hot plate’ which involves heating up the raclette/ hot plate and cooking at the table. It’s a fun meal but it’s a bit like a bbq, you eat so much. I bought 2 nice steaks, chorizo, halloumi, and some nice sausages. The kids like to do tiger bread with melted cheese and then we also do marshmallows and make s’mores. They love it , I find it a faff and inevitably eat far more than I need to.

I got bitten by something in my ankle yesterday and it’s swollen up so badly, I can hardly put any weight on it! It’s so sore! So another day with no run, although I did walk.

Love to all.

I need to stop making big breakfast meals on a weekend. It knocks me out. Cupboards and freezer are full so not doing well using up food!
