2026 the final push! Anyone at the tail end of their weight loss journey and want to lose that last stone (and a bit) with me starting in January?

Setting this thread up now in preparation for the New Year.

Over the last couple of years I have managed to lose 4.5 stone going from 15st 9 to 11 stone 2. My final goal is 10 stone.

I am 5"3 and I am 41. Weight loss has definitely slowed down, but I am determined to keep going and hope that 2026 will be the year I finally reach my target!

I losely follow intermittent fasting and am going to try and be more consistent with my exercise next year.

Anyone is welcome to join me 😊

That's amazing 👏 well done! You'll be back down before you know it 😊

Your muscle mass is so good, too! 💪 I dread to think what mine will be

Can I join you? I have been struggling to lose a stone since my last pregnancy. She is 20 now! Started adding to my fitness pal this week to get back on track.

Current: 11 stone 2 lbs

Goal 10 stone
(but muscley!)

Have also contemplated getting smart scales but have heard that they are not powerful enough to be accurate so not sure?

ErmThisOne · 09/01/2026 07:37

Haha I don’t know how @happysnail12as I don’t exercise!

ErmThisOne · 09/01/2026 07:39

Absolutely @DozeyTwonkmore the merrier. This is the first time I’ve tried them, I can’t tell you if they’re good as I don’t know how accurate the extra data is, but it is good to have an idea on what is changing.

happysnail12 · 09/01/2026 09:33

Of course @DozeyTwonk welcome along 😊

I’ve lost absolutely nothing so far!! Think I’ve set my calories too high and been unwell so haven’t done my walking at all.
Been this weight since September after losing really well so I’m desperate now for the last stone!!

MightyGoldBear · 09/01/2026 11:04

I'm not sure if I've joined here or not🤔
Can I join along?
I need all the accountability and motivation I can get in this cold weather.

I managed to my utter shock to stay around 11.5 stone over Christmas. I was 10.12 before christmas but felt like I must of put myself right to the begining at nearly 12 stone so very happy to of stayed lower end of 11.

My goal weight is 9.5 stone but I will be very happy to see 10stone.

Weighing in at 11.3 today (period time so never great for losing weight) hoping to at least lose a lb a week going forward.
I'm doing 16/8 (or 18 on the days I can) fasts bit of walking and cycling but not focusing too much on exercise yet.

I find for me I need to keep it super simple or I can't maintain it. So I don't calorie count or anything too complicated.

I can not wait to feel more like me again. I dislocated my knee 3 years ago during labour and that's when the weight went on but I didn't really notice at the time as I lived in stretchy clothes, still do 😂

happysnail12 · 09/01/2026 13:00

@socks1107 I feel your pain. So frustrating when everything stalls. Hope you are feeling better soon.

Welcome along @MightyGoldBear. Sounds like we take a similar approach. I too follow intermittent fasting (loosely because I can't live without a morning cup of tea!) and then try and be mindful about what/how much I eat rather than calorie counting every morsel.

In the past I have been too restrictive and it only leads to falling off the wagon and regaining.

It's definitely been a slower process, but for me feels more manageable long term.

I officially weigh-in every Wednesday if anyone wants to join me 😊

Well today I ate a full cherry Bakewell and white chocolate flap jack and then had a Turkish delight the second I walked in. Lunch was a boring cup of soup, babybel, banana and low ish cal crisps. Hoping I didn’t do too much damage. Really craving a curry tonight 😬

whataeffingnightmare · 09/01/2026 17:41

More or less back to my pre-Christmas weight (up 1 lb). Now at BMI 25.6, down from BMI 34, and wondering how much further to go, as this is more or less the lightest I’ve been in my adult life, and thinking about the difficulty of maintaining a much lower weight.
Progress photo, clearly I still have weight to lose, but no idea what to aim for! BMI 21 would be over another stone off, I’ve always weighed heavy for my looks (the before pic is wearing size 16s, at my height and BMI 34 you would probably expect me to be much bigger), currently wearing size 8-10s

ErmThisOne · 09/01/2026 18:35

@whataeffingnightmareI am going to keep going until my BMI is halfway in the healthy section, or at least try. If I can get into an 8 - 10 I would be absolutely buzzing my (shrinking) tits off! Well done on the loss.

happysnail12 · 09/01/2026 20:06

Wow @whataeffingnightmare you look absolutely brilliant! Well done. (Really wish I had done proper progress pictures now!)

At the moment I'm just aiming for the top end of my BMI (the elusive 10 stone). I managed pre kids (12 years ago now!) to get down to 10 stone/size 8-10 and it was a weight and size I felt happy at. The only issue with that is that it doesn't give me much leeway. So I think I will see how I feel when (and if) I ever get there!

My smart scales arrived today but I am going to wait until tomorrow morning to use them.

Don't beat yourself up @ErmThisOne tomorrow is another day. You make me laugh so much with the way you word things! "buzzing my shrinking tits off" 🤣🤣

Have a lovely weekend everyone x

Haha some may say I have a way with words 😂. We had the curry and I enjoyed it. Regret can wait until tomorrow.

I have mine set as stones rather than pounds or kilo, so change it in the app first and it will do it on the scales too. That’s if you want to!

happysnail12 · 09/01/2026 20:57

Great, thanks. Definitely want it in stones

Morning all, I’ve not kept up but will do better! Last week I was unwell and on antibiotics an wfh so minimal steps but as of this morning lost 2lbs so am firmly in the last stone now.
Im really getting there and just looked back at last year when I was 3 stone heavier! I’ve done progress photos too they are so motivating.

happysnail12 · 12/01/2026 12:30

That is brilliant @socks1107👏 well done! I hope you are feeling better soon.

I was 11st 0.5lbs this morning so praying that I can sneak into the 10s for my Wednesday weigh-in. I'm on an 11 day streak for steps after getting my new watch for Christmas and have been going to gym a bit more. Hoping to build this into an ongoing healthy habit rather than a temporary phase!

Hope everyone else is doing well x

@happysnail12ooh that’s amazing!!

happysnail12 · 14/01/2026 09:39

Wednesday weigh in - just over 2.5lbs lost this week and a number 10 on my scales 🥳 10st 12.75lbs

On a side note I've decided to keep weighing on my original scales, so it gives me a consistent baseline. The Eufy ones are not too different, but I found myself getting anxious about the which weight is correct and becoming a bit obsessed with all of the other data which varies massively (my body fat is so much higher on the eufy scales that the one at the gym). It just doesn't feel like it is good for my mental health. So long story short, I started my journey 2 years ago on my trusty weight watchers scales and am going to keep going with them to (hopefully) goal. Even if they are not 100% accurate, at least I know they follow the same baseline.

Starting weight (02/01/26): 11st 3lbs
Goal Weight: 10 stone

07/01/26: 11st 1.5lbs
14/01/26: 10st 12.75lbs

ErmThisOne · 14/01/2026 09:42

That’s amazing!!!!! I am so happy for you.

I weigh in on both as they were different but have today found the sweet spot where they are the same.

I am full of a cold though and feeling sorry for myself as I am still 11st 5.

Working from home today which usually means I eat shit too. I need to get back into the zone!

happysnail12 · 14/01/2026 09:51

Thank you @ErmThisOne

Keep going, you are doing so well 😊

MightyGoldBear · 14/01/2026 10:22

Well done everyone keep going 💪

11stone 1lb for me today slowly dragging myself more towards 10 stone 😂

Starting weight 11.9stone
Goal weight 10.5 stone maybe 10 for wiggle room.

happysnail12 · 14/01/2026 10:37

Well done @MightyGoldBear so close to the 10s!

Oh, can I join too?

I lost around 5st last year up to September (I didn’t weigh until March but know what I weighed when I was a size 18, I was up to size 20 when I started), then maintained more or less until I stayed at my mother for three weeks over Christmas / New Year - she’s a feeder!!! - and put on 2kg in that time.

As of this morning I am 66.8kg and I’d like to get down to 60kg. (At my lowest years ago I was 55kg but constantly dizzy with low blood pressure). That woukd put my BMI at 22.
I was big as a child, then a size 12 as a young adult, before going up to size 18, down to 8, up to 20… At the moment I’m back at a size 10/12. You get the picture… But it won’t be long until peri (I’m early 40s) so I need to do it now!

Over three years I have travelled a lot for work (around 100+ days a year, internationally) with long days and crap food, which has made things worse. I’ve been able to change roles internally last year, which has massively helped, but now looks like I’m back to travelling again a fair bit, which will make it challenging. I’m also wfh (office 1x or so a month if I’m not travelling), which means very little movement during the day.

I have bad GERD with both, silent reflux and more traditional symptoms, so a lot of healthy things are off the table (most fruits, tomato-based dishes…), which is also not helping. On the upside, I also can’t eat a lot of rubbish without getting symptoms, not that this stopped me at Christmas, lol! I had to control it with Omeprazole though, which I have stopped again now.
I’ve been calorie controlling, done a lot of walking (suffered a bit in the wet and cold season) and have started C25k.

Good luck everyone on your journeys!

ErmThisOne · 15/01/2026 06:50

Absolutely @Silverblue1985

Welcome aboard.
