2026 the final push! Anyone at the tail end of their weight loss journey and want to lose that last stone (and a bit) with me starting in January?

Setting this thread up now in preparation for the New Year.

Over the last couple of years I have managed to lose 4.5 stone going from 15st 9 to 11 stone 2. My final goal is 10 stone.

I am 5"3 and I am 41. Weight loss has definitely slowed down, but I am determined to keep going and hope that 2026 will be the year I finally reach my target!

I losely follow intermittent fasting and am going to try and be more consistent with my exercise next year.

Anyone is welcome to join me 😊

I have been hovering about this number since mid December. I don’t want to be stuck here anymore 😡

You have done really well, I can’t wait to catch up 😂. I know it’s frustrating for you though.

happysnail12 · 04/02/2026 07:46

Yes, I realise I am probably throwing my toys out of the pram, after having a few whoosh weeks 😜 sorry.

I know rationally, I am doing well and this is the lightest I've been in over 12 years.

You too are doing so well. Especially, to keep going despite the stalling. I'm keeping every bit of me crossed that you it all starts moving down again. It is infuriating.

@happysnail12 from personal experience, it can definitely be the excercise temporarily making it seem like nothing is moving. I can’t remember if I mentioned it on this thread, but I went to the Lakes twice last year, once walking 100 miles in six days, once 150 miles in 11 days. Both times I hadn’t eaten more than around 1700 kcal a day - both times I came back weighing more (2kg the second time around!). My body had changed though - the extra 2kg went, but I hadn’t lost any extra weight.

Weight loss can be weird (and frustrating as you can do all the right thing and nothing moves).

@ErmThisOne , not sure if it’s an option, but whenever I was stuck for longer, I took a break eating at around maintenance for a week or two. After that, things usually started moving again!

You’re doing well both - fingers crossed things are moving again soon for you!

socks1107 · 04/02/2026 08:31

@ErmThisOne i also got stuck at that weight and trickled down slowly over four months! It felt like torture. In the end December came and I have myself a few weeks off and at maintenance. In the new year I’ve added in some 14 hour daily fasts and now it’s moving again at a nice pace.
I really feel your frustration especially when you know you are doing what you should. I thought I’d never see the 10s but I did this last week

happysnail12 · 11/02/2026 07:19

A better week this week. Just over 1.5lbs off. The scales have been up and down all week but luckily Wednesday has been kind to me!

I'm off to Birmingham this weekend (and then it's half term!) so getting my excuses in early for next Wednesday 😜

Wednesday weigh-in

Starting weight (02/01/26): 11st 3lbs
Goal Weight: 10 stone

07/01/26: 11st 1.5lbs
14/01/26: 10st 12.75lbs
21/01/26: 10st 11.75lbs
28/01/26: 10st 9.2lbs
04/02/26: 10st 10lbs
11/02/26: 10st 8.4lbs

Hope everyone is doing well xx

I tool @Silverblue1985and had a normal eating week, nothing drastic… 11.5. Will have another normal week again and hope for another 11.5 and then start again after half term.

Well done , you’re doing amazing.

Silverblue1985 · 11/02/2026 20:57

Well done @happysnail12 !

@ErmThisOne Good luck for the re-start!

I was 1.2kg down on the previous week on Sunday morning, back to my pre-Christmas weight of 64.4kg, but then came Italy,

A colleague took me out for pizza yesterday lunchtime, and today it was buffet for lunch. A “light lunch” was announced, but the Italian definition of that is slightly different😀That was followed by two big bakes in the afternoon, I don’t even want to know the calories of these. It was amazing food though.

I did use the hotel treadmill for 30 minutes yesterday evening, that probably did nothing though lol.

Back home tomorrow and off to Southern France on Monday - that screams more social eating! Hotel does not even have a restaurant and there is only a burger type chain next door, but at least a reasonable choice on Uber Eats.

socks1107 · 11/02/2026 21:00

I lost another 1.5lbs, that leaves just 7lbs to go!! I have a holiday in five weeks so there’s a slim chance I’ll do it before then. More than likely in the weeks after but I’ll be close!

happysnail12 · 11/02/2026 22:47

That sounds like a good plan @ErmThisOne keep going, I know you've got this.

@Silverblue1985well done on getting to you pre-Christmas weight. Hopefully the damage isn't too bad for you. Although that food all sounds delicious! What do you do for work that takes you all around the world? (If I'm allowed to be nosey!)

And well done @socks1107 you're so close now! 👏

@happysnail12 I am a project manager :) I had internally changed jobs last year as travel got too much, but then this project happened… Hopefully it will really get much quieter after this, as it had caused me a lot of my weight gain and other issues. You just don’t have a life anymore, are tired, live out of a suitcase and end up having take-aways or crap at the weekends before you’re off again!

Not too worried about eating like this as a one-off really - I do want to enjoy the local food when I get the chance, and when is it ever easier than with locals!
There are often colleagues I have never met in person before, or once or twice at the most, and I definitely don’t want to turn down their hospitality, more so in countries like Spain, Italy or France where lunch / dinner together is so common and they are keen to look after you as their visitor. I must admit I’ve had some amazing food which, otherwise, I would have never tried.

It’s when it’s becoming something regular when it’s an issue, which is worrying when travelling so much. Having lost the 30-odd kg last year, I now want to stay at a healthy BMI and ideally lose another 4kg, which would take me to a BMI of 22. It might just take forever now - when I’m at home it’s so much easier!

Silverblue1985 · 11/02/2026 23:26

@socks1107 wohoo, so close now!

happysnail12 · 12/02/2026 07:20

@Silverblue1985 Yes, I imagine it much all be exhausting and so difficult being out of routine/ having less control. I find it hard enough navigating the school holidays let alone jetting off here there and everywhere!

Weighed this morning… 11.4.9!! Trying to work out what the .9 is as my last scales were in 1/4 pound increments this look like 10th of a pound, and the thick in me cant get my head around it. I’ll just wait till it gets to 7 and know that’s my .75 😂😂 that’s easier to say than however many tenths of a pound!

happysnail12 · 12/02/2026 07:39

@ErmThisOne I'm the same with my new scales! It's hard to get your head around isn't it!

Your scales are moving down so that's the main thing 😊 well done x

Yesterday I googled "is .4 less than half?"! 🤣 obviously it is but I didn't trust my maths!

ErmThisOne · 12/02/2026 09:11

There are 50 days til Good Friday. That’s my goal deadline. I wanted 10st 7 by then. It won’t happen now so it is probably best I change the goal to 10st something. That surely has to be doable!! Even if I have been hovering here for 8 weeks now.

ErmThisOne · 12/02/2026 09:12

I also google very silly things that I know I know, but I don’t think I know!

socks1107 · 12/02/2026 12:11

My scales are the same and I was 200grams heavier today. Does my brain in.
Im also tempted to adjust my goal to 10.11 for end of March, I’m 10.13 now and lose half a pound a week so feels more realistic.

does anyone do calorie cycling, we’ve some social occasions coming up that I need to navigate so think one higher day and six lower may be the best way of tackling it?

happysnail12 · 12/02/2026 12:14

That sounds like a good goal @ErmThisOne ☺️ I'm sure you'll do it 💪

Surely you are due a whoosh now! It's only fair!

OP posts:
happysnail12 · 12/02/2026 12:17

@socks1107 that sounds like a sensible and achievable goal too.

I don't know much about calorie cycling but makes sense.

I have social events creeping back in now too. That's definitely where the challenge lies for me.

11.3.8 today!!! I can see the 3. This makes me very happy indeed. I haven’t seen that baby since Christmas Eve.

Is this the start of my movement now or daily fluctuation… we shall see.

happysnail12 · 13/02/2026 07:31

Wahoo well done @ErmThisOne 🥳

11.5 again this morning, I am due on though and did have pancakes yesterday 😂. It somehow touched 11.7 on Monday after being 11.3 on Thursday/Friday so not feeling too deflated. Will weigh in again after I have been to the toilet 😂

happysnail12 · 18/02/2026 08:19

Pancakes have to be done! It's the law!

We're actually having our Pancakes today because we were too full last night after stuffing our faces at an all-you-can-eat restaurant at lunchtime!! 🙈

Somehow, I lost a small amount this week regardless. But I think this is partly down to being at the end of my period and therefore less bloated!

I have a few more social engagements to navigate over half term, but will be back to full focus from Monday!

Wednesday weigh-in

Starting weight (02/01/26): 11st 3lbs
Goal Weight: 10 stone

28/01/26: 10st 9.2lbs
04/02/26: 10st 10lbs

We had all you can eat breakfast over the weekend, I didn’t go OTT but definitely a good few calories 😂😂.

Well done on your loss this week.

happysnail12 · 18/02/2026 08:36

I definitely overate - couldn't resist making the most of my money at the buffet (or the chocolate fountain!!). But didn't eat anything else throughout the day so hopefully that helped somewhat 🤞

Glad things seem to be moving again for you too 😊
