2026 the final push! Anyone at the tail end of their weight loss journey and want to lose that last stone (and a bit) with me starting in January?

Setting this thread up now in preparation for the New Year.

Over the last couple of years I have managed to lose 4.5 stone going from 15st 9 to 11 stone 2. My final goal is 10 stone.

I am 5"3 and I am 41. Weight loss has definitely slowed down, but I am determined to keep going and hope that 2026 will be the year I finally reach my target!

I losely follow intermittent fasting and am going to try and be more consistent with my exercise next year.

Anyone is welcome to join me 😊

Thank you @Silverblue1985 Yeah it is a bit frustrating having to fit around 4 people's schedules, but hopefully I can reorganise life and begin to settle into new routines.

Wednesday weigh-in. Just over a 1lb this week - 9st 13.4lbs - which brings me officially to my original 10st target 🥳🥳

I have decided to re-adjust my final goal and aim for 9st 10lbs, which still sits me at the top end of a healthy bmi, but gives me a bit of a buffer. Then I am going to try and focus on strengthening (if I can motivate myself!) and maintaining.

I can't believe I am finally there! It's been a long time coming! 3 years ago I starting at 15st 9lbs

Wohoooo, congratulations @happysnail12 !!! 🎉🎉🥳🥳👏🏻👏🏻
Good luck with the final lbs, I’m sure you’ll smash these, too!

Silverblue1985 · 06/05/2026 17:48

I weighed this morning and am at 61.2kg, so -1.1kg since mid-April. I have eaten quite normally most days I was away, so put this down to moving a LOT more than when I’m wfh.
My body fat percentage also was under 31% for the first time. In Jan it was still over 35% all month, so while I’m sure this is not even near being accurate, it’s the trend that counts!

Not really looked at calories too much this week, been making sure my body has what it needs to recover first and foremost.

socks1107 · 06/05/2026 17:58

@happysnail huge congratulations 🥳🥳🥳 you must feel incredible!

Im still plodding on soooooo slowly. But the trend is down just not as quick as I’d like. Seemingly weigh the same day in day out and then it’ll drop a touch. Hopefully get the last 7lbs off before the of the year - current prediction is October !! It’s that slow!

happysnail12 · 06/05/2026 21:14

Thank you both 😊 and congratulations on your losses 📉

@Silverblue1985 Well done on the big drop in body fat 👏 All of that exercise is clearly paying off. According to my scales, I am still at 33.5% body fat, so still a work in progress (although I'm sure most of that is my arse and thighs!) My visceral fat is low, which gives me hope.

@socks1107 well done for keeping on going despite the slow progress. As you can see, it's taken me 3 years to get to where I am. Slow and frustrating at times but I'm so glad I kept going 😊

Silverblue1985 · 07/05/2026 21:36

@socks1107 Stick with it - it will move! Hoping for a whoosh for you.

@happysnail12 Thank you!
End of March last year it was at 45%, I never weighed when I started in Jan last year, but going by the reduction in each quarter after this, I must have started at around 50% body fat. Really scary to think that!

ErmThisOne · 09/05/2026 11:19

Hi!!

so nice to see you doing so well.

My DD became quite poorly on holiday, we have had numerous hospital visits and GP visits since being home. Meal planning has been lacking, take aways most evenings. Also had a birthday and and tonight is a meal out from my sister in law as a birthday gift too.

I need to get back on it from Monday. DD is showing no signs of improvement yet but I need to take some control. I will weigh myself on Monday and not before but I think there will be a 12 on there.

Silverblue1985 · 09/05/2026 20:40

@ErmThisOne Good to hear from you and I’m sorry to hear about your DD, I hope she is getting better very soon. I can imagine it’s a very stressful and worrying time.

I hope you have enjoyed your meal out tonight and good luck getting back on track but don’t be too hard on yourself!

happysnail12 · 09/05/2026 21:17

Hi @ErmThisOne so lovely to hear from you. I am so sorry to hear about your daughter, that all sounds really difficult. It's so hard to focus on weight loss when things are stressful. I hope she is feeling better soon and that you enjoy(ed) all of your celebrations. And I definitely echo @Silverblue1985don't be too hard on yourself x

That's such amazing progress @Silverblue1985it's great to have these trends to look at alongside the weight number on the scales. I only began tracking my other data in January, but lowering my body fat and increasing my muscle is definitely a focus now.

Why cant I lose the last 4 pounds? Ive lost 5 and a half. My ideal weight is 9 st 7 lbs and Im bouncing around 9.10 and 9.11 arghhhh.

socks1107 · 11/05/2026 11:31

Hi all, I’ve had a good ten days! Lost over 2lbs so now into the final 5lbs. Feeling really excited to get there!

@ErmThisOne sorry to hear your daughter hasn’t been well. Hope she’s better soon.

Silverblue1985 · 11/05/2026 13:20

@socks1107 Well done on your loss!

I am going up and down like a yo-yo at the moment, I have seen 60.6kg at the end of last week, but back to 61.1kg again today. That’s fine though - trying to work out at the moment how I can best support my body and there’s probably some fluctuations depending on when / how I exercise and eat around this.
I am sure the 60kg will show, hopefully before the end of the month.

I hope everyone is having a good week!

happysnail12 · 11/05/2026 18:10

Well done @socks1107that's amazing 🥳

@Silverblue1985I'm the same this week. The scales are up, down, up, down despite eating fairly sensibly and exercising.

I'm trying to remember that my main goal now is to maintain (even though in an ideal world I'm aiming for a few more lbs of loss). As long as I stay on track I won't undo all the hard work and I can stay at a healthy weight.

happysnail12 · 13/05/2026 09:52

Wednesday weigh-in. The scale gods are on my side this week. After being a little bit up for most of the week, they've tipped back down for weigh in day 😊 Just over a 1lb this week - 9st 12.4lbs.

I haven't made much progress with getting myself into a strengthening routine, but am continuing to walk or gym everyday, so that's something.

Hope everyone is doing well.

Well done on keeping up the exercise @happysnail12 and on your loss!

I have been really hungry the last couple of days and have been craving random things. Like cheese. I don’t even like cheese. I never eat cheese. But I was craving it so badly I did a detour to the supermarket to buy some cheese twisters and I ate all four from the pack.
Maybe my body is telling me something. 🤷‍♀️ (Definitely not pregnant 😂)

happysnail12 · 14/05/2026 07:29

@Silverblue1985 🤣 God I wish I didn't love cheese! It's one of the things I really miss eating in copious amounts!! I don't cut it out completely, but I have definitely cut down.

I find at different times in my cycle, I seem to crave certain things or feel ravenous. It's a tough gig being a woman sometimes, but I hope you enjoyed your twisters 😁

Silverblue1985 · 14/05/2026 21:09

Before I started taking the pill, I loved pickled gherkins dipped into Nutella in the days leading up to my period - somehow I am glad I have never found out what my pregnancy cravings would be - and that it’s only cheese this time 😂

happysnail12 · 15/05/2026 09:17

🤣 Mmm sounds delicious!! 🥒🍫🤢🤣

Silverblue1985 · 16/05/2026 11:16

Weighed this morning and 60.2kg, sooooo close now with 200g to go.

I think the biggest challenge for me will be to work out how many calories I need for maintenance, at the moment I've had days with over 2000, and the lower intake ones at 1500 to 1600 and losing on this, so I'm guessing I'm looking at around 2000 to maintain as long as I keep the running up. Will be a bit of trial and error and I'll enjoy it before peri hits 😂

I will definitely also need to look at other strengthening excercises, got bad pains during parkrun this morning and suspect it's my core muscles. A lot of traditional exercises are a no-go with my hiatal hernia, maybe I need to find a PT with knowledge aboht the condition to help show me what's safe to do.

Have a good weekend!

happysnail12 · 16/05/2026 15:28

Well done @Silverblue1985 that's amazing 😊 so close now! A PT with the right knowledge sounds like a very sensible idea for the exercise side of things.

I'm in a very similar position in terms of calories, I need to work out how to eat at maintenance after years of having all my focus on weight loss.

happysnail12 · 20/05/2026 07:23

Wednesday weigh-in. I've stayed exactly the same this week, so still 9st 12.4lbs. Can't complain about that, as I am maintaining which is the main aim now.

Hope everyone is doing well.
