Following on from ⭐️LOSE IT!⭐️ Slimmimg September 2025⭐️

⭐️OPEN TO ALL⭐️

Where did September go? There is a definite chill in the air some mornings now 🥶 I always feel when October is here it’s the start of the 12 week countdown to Christmas!

It’s never too late to make a change, to make a difference and feel confident in your body. To reach optimum health and vitality we need to focus not only on our food intake; but movement, mental health and sleep quality too!

Who doesn’t want to feel good and energetic as well looking great! Get on board to reset & refresh and become a healthier version of yourself.

These threads are for those who’d like to lose weight and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and generally eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost around 45lbs.

I’m mainly maintaining but I would like to get back into the 8’s 🤞(I briefly dipped into the 8’s last month but the scale showing 9st 1lb this morning)

Are you in😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

New members … Give it a go; it’s never too late! You'll be pleased you did 😊

Hope you manage to get some fresh air today @LemonDrizzle23 and feel better for it too!

Hi @Alwayslearning25 sounds like you've got a good plan to ease in, calorie counting does work for me but consumes me for the first week or so! I'm just about getting into it now after 2 weeks. Fab that you're doing couch to 5k! I should exercise but it's the last thing I can get into and the first thing I drop when things get stressful 🙈

Yesterday wasn't a disaster but not quite as disciplined as I'd like- I'm grazing/snacking rather than eating and a) it's not at all satisfying and b) it's really hard to track- though I've tried. Trying to get properly back on track today, it always feels good to have a solid day before weigh in!

biscuitcat · 14/10/2025 09:23

Welcome back @Alwayslearning25!

I’m really conscious at the moment of avoiding snacking, especially after the kids are in bed. Tiredness is a huge trigger for me and littlest DS has just started splitting his nights, so I’m up for a couple of hours at 2/3am 😩

Today’s menu:

B - yoghurt with cinnamon apples
L - probably eggs
D - gnocchi with garlic and spinach sauce

HappyLittleTreeFriend · 14/10/2025 12:41

Gnocchi with spinach and garlic sounds lovely @biscuitcatI might have that for dinner later in the week! I’m feeling very good and healthy in myself today, had a nice weekend and kept calories pretty low, went a little over my count yesterday but it will be fine in terms of the week - my birthday next week so I want to bank as many calories as possible so I can enjoy eating meals out and cake without thinking about it :)

L: Tomato soup and a slice of sourdough toast
D: Roast veg ratatouille, houmous and pea falafels
Snacks - some chocolate later!

FridayNighFeeling · 14/10/2025 13:07

Hi all, saw osteopath yesterday who said there's definitely a dodgy back, but also a load of stress tied into everything, so come up with a plan to help both - full body approach. Already done my exercises, but need to do so again tonight.

Weight nearly a whole kilogram up from lowest last week, but hoping it will woosh at some point.

Sorry to hear there's stress and anxiety and bugs doing the rounds - hope you all feel better soon. I'm trying to work on body and mind, but know my toughest days of the working week are ahead of me still Hmm

Good luck for WOW tomorrow

Poisonwood · 14/10/2025 14:37

Couple of hours of yoga, 30 min weight training,
B - yoghurt/almonds/berries
L - leek and potato soup with pumpkin seeds
D - daal

Marshmellowbunny · 14/10/2025 16:04

Hey @Alwayslearning25 I'm glad that you came back! I was wondering where you got to.

@HappyLittleTreeFriend another October birthday 🧡 hope you get through it okay! Mine's just after yours. I will no doubt eat too much and I want an actual birthday cake this year so I will probably end up eating loads of cake 😂🙈

Hope you're all doing alright.

Idk if you'll all care but thought I'd let you all know that I've finally got myself some antidepressants. I've got enough for 3 weeks so we will see what happens!

One of the side effects is weight gain though. So I'm going to have to watch out! 😂🙈 But if it stops the crying it'll be worth it I suppose. I'm trying not to spend all of my day just googling side effects 😂

Weighed myself today anyway and I'm still not below 10. I'm at 10 Stone 2 pounds. Back up from 10.02. I seem to be getting further away! 😂🙈 But I can't drink on my medication so that's one plus I suppose!

Alwayslearning25 · 14/10/2025 17:58

@Marshmellowbunny glad I am memorable!
I will admit I have MacDonalds for lunch. As I had a headache all morning and felt on the brink of a virus, wanted a hot lunch.

Apart from that I drank more water and had no snacks. Had homemade Chinese chicken and veg for dinner, no more food tonight.

FridayNighFeeling · 14/10/2025 18:05

Pretty much every medication has weight gain as a side effect @Marshmellowbunny but for now I think getting your mood even is probably more important, but also it's not a given that you will gain more. Hope that it helps you x

LemonDrizzle23 · 14/10/2025 19:19

@Vapeaddict I got out for 3km today and definitely felt better for it. Spent the rest of the day on the couch, but better than nothing! Going to try again for 3km tomorrow and see how I get on.

Happy October birthdays to those who are going to be a year older (and wiser? 😉)

Alwayslearning25 · 14/10/2025 19:24

I was on an antipsychotic for 6 months, and yes it caused weight gain, I was breastfeeding at the time and thought that would help me loose maintain, but I think the combination of breastfeeding and medication made me sooo hungry. My 2nd child i breastfed without medication, lost weight initially then put it on when I went back to work.... much more than with the medication. And when I stopped breastfeeding around time ds was 2 years old he was barely feeding but I still noticed a significant decrease in appetite, or at least fatty food cravings.

biscuitcat · 14/10/2025 19:57

I’m so reassured to hear that your appetite decreased when you stopped breastfeeding @Alwayslearning25! I’ve been constantly breastfeeding or pregnant since 2020 but am not planning any more kids so when I stop this time, probably sometime next year, I’ll just be myself without another pregnancy buggering up my hormones and I’m really hoping for that to happen to me too!

Marshmellowbunny · 14/10/2025 21:17

@Alwayslearning25 😈
Mm so it would seem there's a correlation between breastfeeding and the weight gain. So hopefully it sad that and not the medicine! I'll just monitor it closely.

@FridayNighFeeling you are completely correct and that's true. I've taken the plunge and taken the first one, so I will monitor the weight as I have been doing and hopefully they will help me out 🩷

@LemonDrizzle23October birthdays woop woop! Thank you.

I love October so much 😂🧡
I'm already feeling more positive and my medicine was only 10mg haha. I think the placebo is kicking in!

WearyAuldWumman · 14/10/2025 21:45

No weight shift, but I'm managing more in my classes.

Have put two pairs of jeans in the charity bag. Have made up my mind that I will no longer keep clothes which do not fit at least one category of 'fits properly', 'feels comfortable' or 'really liked'. That's 2 prs of jeans, two plaid shirts and an evening skirt going out - all size 20. A couple of t-shirts have gone into the cut-into-cleaning-rags pile.

TheWayTheLightFalls · 15/10/2025 06:01

Morning! WoW is 72.6 here - stayed the same. Was lower yesterday but I undid things a bit with poor eating. Broadly fine and the overall trend is still a gradual loss.

Alwayslearning25 · 15/10/2025 06:15

Wow 75.1. I'm down from when I weighed myself last week, but it's more of a genuine start weight/ max weight as I just finished my period.

Today I am doing a free trial of an excersice class I I'd with my eldest DD pre COVID. It's called family jam where you can bring your babies and children. It was quite intense before, and I'm a bit anxious my 2 year old ds will misbehave and it will be a room full of imobile babies. That is what's put me off so far.... but we'll see, maybe he'll like dancing along.

PatienceOfEngels · 15/10/2025 07:42

Wow went up from yesterday (+0.4kg) but still down from last week (-0.2kg) to 75.4kg.

Celebrating a family birthday today so there will be some not so healthy food.

Feeling so stressed and anxious for no reason in particular, trying my hardest to get through it but struggling.

socks1107 · 15/10/2025 08:00

2lbs this week, so happy obviously! I am worried as this is back at the weight stalled at for a month but I’m lifting heavier weights and have dropped calories so hoping that these changes keep the scale moving.

it’s my birthday today so starting with a calorie counted Macdonalds breakfast on my way to work!

frostedshreddie · 15/10/2025 08:06

Hey Everyone!
I said I was back on this thread at the beginning of Oct and then fell off again 🤣 I don't think I have fully processed how big of an event moving house is and still mentally catching up.

Anywho the last couple of days I have added my home workouts back in to my routine and have been focusing on cutting our processed foods as much as possible.
My weigh in today is 10 st 3.2 lbs.

My plan for today is:
20 min PULL workout when back from the school run

Breakfast: Egg on a protein muffin
Lunch: Turkey Stir Fry
Dinner: TBC

I'm going to go back and read the thread now, make some notes on healthier meal ideas 🤩
Hope you are all doing well!

CinnamonSweet73 · 15/10/2025 08:15

I'm another one who fell off! Back on it again this week since Monday, gym yesterday, tracked all food, 8k/9k steps.

WOW is 80.4kg, so same as when I posted on 1st. Hoping to be down next Weds.

Well done all and best of luck for the week ahead!

PersistentRain · 15/10/2025 08:24

SW: 89kg
CW: 83kg
GW: around 70g

Happy Scale goal 81.4 kg. Lost 0.5kg this week. Increased my calories and weights and has done the trick.

Marshmellowbunny · 15/10/2025 09:00

It's nice to see you all back 🩷 I hope you've all been doing okay!

I totally forgot that it was Wednesday.

Anyway, I just got in the weighing and I'm back at my lowest, so woo!

Not much at all to lose, but we will see what happens with this medication!

Good luck and well done on the WOW everybody taking part!

SW: 10 Stone 9.6 pounds
CW: 10 Stone 0.2 pounds
GW: 9 Stone 14 pounds

Emmadaily · 15/10/2025 09:04

Happy birthday 🎂 @socks1107
Have a lovely day x and well done 👍
Good luck @frostedshreddie
And well done to everyone ☺
Have a great week everyone xx

biscuitcat · 15/10/2025 09:04

Happy WOW everyone!

I’m 1lb down this week (though until I undid some good work yesterday by snacking it was nearer 2lbs!), so going in the right direction. From today’s weight I have about 3lbs to go for my October goal (or 4lbs for my more ambitious goal), and I’d like to think I can at least make my first one!

On the menu today:

B - Greek yoghurt, maybe with plums as I bought some
L - bruschetta
D - spinach and garlic gnocchi again

Marshmellowbunny · 15/10/2025 09:09

@socks1107 happy birthday 🎂 🎈 🎂

Vapeaddict · 15/10/2025 09:51

Happy birthday @socks1107 enjoy your breakfast!

Wow isn't much of a wow- I've stayed the same this week. It's no surprise after a biggish loss last week and my tracking has definitely not been as accurate but I'm still unreasonably disappointed 🤣

Must try harder this week. I think I'm going to have a go at cooking along to actual recipes that have been calorie counted (e.g pinch of nom) instead of making up my own and adding each ingredient/doing rough estimates on MFP.

My chocolate intake has got a bit out of hand again and I didn't even track it yesterday so I need to get a grip on that.
