Following on from ⭐️LOSE IT!⭐️ Slimmimg September 2025⭐️

⭐️OPEN TO ALL⭐️

Where did September go? There is a definite chill in the air some mornings now 🥶 I always feel when October is here it’s the start of the 12 week countdown to Christmas!

It’s never too late to make a change, to make a difference and feel confident in your body. To reach optimum health and vitality we need to focus not only on our food intake; but movement, mental health and sleep quality too!

Who doesn’t want to feel good and energetic as well looking great! Get on board to reset & refresh and become a healthier version of yourself.

These threads are for those who’d like to lose weight and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and generally eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost around 45lbs.

I’m mainly maintaining but I would like to get back into the 8’s 🤞(I briefly dipped into the 8’s last month but the scale showing 9st 1lb this morning)

Are you in😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

New members … Give it a go; it’s never too late! You'll be pleased you did 😊

@PatienceOfEngels I really want to try some ontbijtkoek! Is it like ginger loaf? It looks like ginger loaf.
I googled it and it looks like my kinda thing. I saw a picture of the ontbijtkoek 'gebakje' and I'm not sure if that's a widely done thing or just that one website? But it looked like there was icing and strawberries on top 👀
Oo now I'm reading through recipes and it seems you put stroop in it? I love stroopwaffles and cake, so this definitely seems like something that I gotta have.

Sorry for the long rant/rave there.

Hope giving plasma wasn't too bad. I really wanted to donate blood, but because I've received blood since 1st January 1980 I'm not allowed 🥲

@WhatWouldTheDoctorDo as others have said...envious of your holiday! We looked at flying to the canaries on Christmas day. Might do it just to get some sun as it's miserable here.

Ok back on topic...
So I've just weighed myself and I'm another 0.2 down! 0.2lbs left to go to meet my January target! You'd think that would be manageable but I'm trying to find a balance with not being too restrictive and having good times whilst also losing haha 🙈

Going to the theatre today with my parents and we're going for food and cocktails 😂🙈 I'm going to try and not go too crazy but it's rare that I get to spend time with my parents so I don't want to be harping on about weight loss and I just want to relax and have a nice time.

Hope you all have a fabulous weekend ♥️

socks1107 · 11/10/2025 10:34

I’m down 4lbs this week, all
of my holiday weight and hopefully I’ll keep losing and break that plateau.
happy weekend everyone 😃

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 11/10/2025 00:21

@Vapeaddict @biscuitcat thank you, yes off to the canaries for some sunshine. Last October was so dark and miserable I decided I wanted a little heat this year. Work has been crazy busy just now and I’m overseeing some tough stuff, so I am very much looking forward to villa, pool, books, wine. It’s much needed and I won’t regret a single calorie!

We got back from the canaries last week. It was lovely, warm, relaxing and just what I needed! Enjoy

Emmadaily · 11/10/2025 14:03

Hi everyone

Lots of good updates ☺
Well done to you all
Also happy holidays to all who off for some lovely sunny weather ☀
Not long back from my slimming world session ☺
I'm happy to report another loss of half a pound so that's 19 pounds in total.
5 pounds to go for my target.
I'm sure I will do this soon.
Good luck to all you .
A nice weather week predicted well staying dry at least so all the walkers should be fine .
Xx

WearyAuldWumman · 11/10/2025 15:07

Weight sticking, but two separate people who last saw me at the same weight have complimented me on losing weight…so maybe it’s body recomposition?

Who knows. My waist certainly looks weird - it’s gone from a fat dome to a weird shape with dents at the side.

Must be to do with the obliques exercises I’ve been doing? Methinks I’m going to be left with an overhang. Ah well. I’ll be the only one looking at it!

LemonDrizzle23 · 11/10/2025 15:32

I’m still sitting around feeling very sorry for myself and my stinking cold. Endless carbs and full sugar coke to get through. Might be avoiding WOW while I’m feeling so miserable!

Poisonwood · 11/10/2025 16:25

@Emmadaily well done. @LemonDrizzle23 do what ever you need to do to recuperate without feeling bad!

I’ve had a nice day - an hour of yoga for strength that really kicked my butt, lunch out with my lovely DP, and if the rain dies away we’ll try for a walk on the shore later. Food has been okay though somehow felt a little dull…maybe because I chose very sensibly when out for lunch lol…quark/almonds/berries for breakfast, potato and leek soups and a small roll followed by a penguin for lunch, and tonight it’s haddock and vegetable parcels with some boiled potatoes followed by a small punnet of raspberries and chocolate protein mousse.

Emmadaily · 11/10/2025 16:48

@Poisonwood
Thankyou ☺
Well your day certainly does sound lovely and your food choices very healthy and yummy .
Yoga to and a walk out on the coast will finish your Saturday off just nice.
Enjoy .
Xx

LemonDrizzle23 · 11/10/2025 19:59

@Poisonwood I will try not to feel too guilty! If I’m feeling a bit better tomorrow I’m going to get up and do a good hair wash. That usually makes me feel more human.

Currently watching Strictly and feeling very motivated by Tess Daley in that beautiful flapper inspired dress. Definitely time between now and Christmas to make some change before sequin season.

After I stop feeling disgusting though 😂

PersistentRain · 12/10/2025 09:16

Hit my next target on Happy Scale! I don’t ‘own’ it yet though!
at one point it said I wouldn’t hit it for years so things have improved as I’ve increased my calories. Off to the gym.

biscuitcat · 12/10/2025 09:53

Congratulations @PersistentRain! Great work, you must feel brilliant.

Sorry to hear you’re feeling under the weather @LemonDrizzle23 - it’s the time of year for it!

I had family over last night for a mezze evening (with proper fried falafel - delicious!), so lunch today is leftover dips and pitta I imagine, then I’m making a curry for dinner.

Fellsbells · 12/10/2025 12:42

Congratulations @PersistentRain 🥳

FridayNighFeeling · 12/10/2025 13:29

Well done to everyone making progress - big or small.

We had Chinese Friday night and left overs for lunch yesterday, but I don't think I did badly. Will see what the scales say tomorrow morning.

Nice walk this morning, albeit very dull. Making a nice Thai curry tonight.

Vapeaddict · 12/10/2025 15:13

Have the best time @WhatWouldTheDoctorDo we did so well with sunshine this summer but it already feels like such a long time ago. We've just been out for a walk and it was chilly but bright, best we can hope for now I suppose.

This weekend has been lovely food wise but really difficult to calculate so again, I've just had to try (and told myself it's good/non upf/healthy food, I just can't necessarily put an accurate number on it).

I messed up yesterday by skipping lunch and then hungry caterpillar-ing my way round the kitchen while dinner was cooking 🙈 so made sure to eat something today!

If it's anything like our chinese, so full of salt etc that you'll be retaining a lot of water....

FridayNighFeeling · 12/10/2025 15:22

@Harrysmummy246 ours claim to be healthy Grin but I will jump on every day during the week to see what changes occur. I've learnt not to sweat the fluctuations!

Poisonwood · 12/10/2025 19:05

That’s great @PersistentRain

Nice hour walk this morning, just 30min of power yoga but eaten well. Big Yoghurt/almonds/berries for breakfast, lunch was porridge with protein powder, dinner was roasted sweet potato/lentil/red pepper soup with pumpkin seeds and a small punnet of heritage tomatoes. Lots of water.

LegoTherapy · 12/10/2025 22:45

I could’ve sworn I’d posted on the thread but maybe not.
I’ve hit the heady lows of 54.65kg today! I’m not far off the weight that stupid pre-diabetes course wants me to be. I don’t see what difference a couple of kilos will make.
Calories are less than 1200 today which is too low for me. I logged onto MFP for the first time in many weeks and was surprised at how little I’d eaten. It perhaps makes up for the chip barm last week!

Ginger cake is much nicer! Regular ontbijtkoek is quite bland/dry I find. But if you get the more expensive ones they're tastier (I like the caramel one with crystallized sugar on top).

Any kind of gebak is a proper cake/pastry/cheesecake thing more for special occasions (often some sort of vlaai from Limburg).

I've switched to donating blood which went fine. After last time I don't want to give plasma again.

This weekend's food:
-burger and oven chips Saturday
-Beef rendang with rice and veg Sunday (so good)
-toast and marmite one day and jacket potato with cheese and butter the other
-crisps (not optimistic for wow)

Have felt so tired the last 2 days. Have a few days at home to sort the house out before we head to visit family

TheWayTheLightFalls · 13/10/2025 07:13

Morning, signing in. Weekend wasn't great - there's a lot of kids' party food in my house, and more to come - but I weighed this morning and so far all ok. Today is OMAD, I think some sort of healthy ready meal or beans and eggs mid-morning and then just liquids. Let's see how I get on.

PersistentRain · 13/10/2025 07:37

I now ‘own’ my weight on Happy Scale so i have my next target of 1.9kg off… it predicts this will take me a month. Let’s see!
Monday is a gym rest day and I am so happy about that!

LemonDrizzle23 · 13/10/2025 18:57

Managed to get out of bed today - all the way to sit on the couch all day…. More carbs and full coke. I do definitely think the worst has passed however. Going to attempt to at least leave the house tomorrow for some fresh air. First time since Thursday! But I don’t think I’m making my morning 5km. Maybe something a bit more gentle!

Well done to those “owning” their weights on happy scale, it’s very satisfying!

TheWayTheLightFalls · 13/10/2025 19:17

Done. Healthy ready meal + veg mid-morning and then eleventy middle coffees and calorie free drinks. First meal planned for 10am ish tmrw.

PatienceOfEngels · 14/10/2025 06:40

Sorry to hear you've been feeling so rubbish @LemonDrizzle23 . Get well soon!

On school holidays now but struggling to relax. Feel so exhausted and have such a long list of things to get done this break. It's making em feel really anxious so trying to le too of the to do list and switch off.

Yesterday...
-boiled egg, rye toast, coffee
-fried egg sandwich with brown sauce
-fresh supermarket pasta with green beans and a spinach and garlic sauce
-snacks - 2 mandarins, salted cashews with cheese

Today maybe lasagne.

Down to 75kg! Exactly where I was a month ago but glad to have dropped all I put on during my trip and a bit more. Now just need to keep it off on my next trip to the UK this week😂

Alwayslearning25 · 14/10/2025 07:24

Hi, can I join the October thread? I last checked in beggining of September. A busy stressful autumn has led me to give up on monitoring my food intake and sometimes binge eating as well as getting a few to takeaways, lots of chocolate and not monitoring my weight. I am the heaviest I have been with a weight of 75.4kg, BMI of 28.5. My saving grace is I weighed myself, first time in ages, last week the day before my period so tomorrow I'll hopefully be down. I have been doing the couch to 5k. But, apart from the first couple of weeks, I've only been doing it once a week. Last week I got out midweek too. In on week 4 and do feel better than week one.

I don't feel ready to jump in with calorie counting, so today I will avoid snacks and up my water.
