14 weeks until beachy summer holiday. If I can lose a 1lb a week that's a stone by August.

As the title says. Hoping to lose a stone by August so that I am feeling better about myself on holiday.

The reality is I have 2.5 stone to lose all together but thought this would be a good first target.

I've just had a look at my fitness pal and I've literally been yo-yoing between 15.5 stone and 11.5 stone for over 5 years!!! I follow the same pattern. Get to 11/12ish stone. Feel better about myself. Begin badly eating again. Gain weight. Repeat.

I am currently 12 st 6lbs but this time last year was a stone lighter.. I don't want to be getting back up into the 15s so I'm determined to get myself back on track.

Therefore I'm going to weigh in here every Wednesday until August (to start with). Anyone is welcome to join me along the way.

It didn't feel like good luck at the time! 🤣 I think it was probably a bloody pigeon! We have always had lots of trees around us but it seems like there has been a huge increase in the amount of bird poo this year for some reason! 🤢

Wednesday weigh in....I have managed to shift last week's gain and back to 11st 8lbs. 21 days until my holiday...2lbs away from my (initial) target of losing a stone.

All very slow and steady (and a bit up and down) but getting there bit by bit.

Hope everyone is doing well?

First day of the summer holidays today, so I'm hoping to stay on track and I plan to up the exercise as there are less work commitments.

Well done @happysnail12! I'm sure you'll be able to stay on track. I find when I exercise its easier to stay motivated.

I'm back from Paris now and afraid for tomorrow's weigh in. I walked a lot but also ate a lot and just enjoyed my holiday. I'm thinking I'll be back up a kilo and will just begin again.

Summersunshinebliss · 23/07/2025 21:04

Well done 👏 @happysnail12

Hope you had a good time in Paris @WolfMother326

I've had a bit of a mixed week and went over calories at the weekend. Not looking forward to stepping on the scales tomorrow 😕

Littletreefrog · 23/07/2025 21:10

Well done @happysnail12. I'm still steadily losing despite not being able to exercise, I think I would have healed quicker if I had broken a bone to be honest. Sprains really suck. Also school holidays are here and whilst my youngest is old enough to look after himself I have promised some days out to do fun things and unfortunately for me his idea of fun is easting a lot of food.

WolfMother326 · 25/07/2025 11:14

I totally fell off track this week between Paris and then a stressful job interview yesterday. But I have only gained 0.5kg. Going to try to stay on my calorie plan today and then maybe tomorrow get back to exercise too. I don't want to quit which is what I'd normally do at this stage. I have lost 3 kg and want to get under 70kg by the end of summer (2 to go).

Summersunshinebliss · 25/07/2025 12:37

Weight stayed the same this week. I was expecting a gain due to lack of exercise, going over calories a few days and also have time of the month bloat. Ive felt a bit rubbish this week nothing major just the usual monthly hormone doom and gloom. So ive focused on early nights and self care. Plan for this week is 3 x exercise and stick to calories. Food shop coming this afternoon this week's treats are jelly tots and buttons ( I still have treats left over from last week also)

This week's weight is 12 stone 4 pounds

Good luck everyone Flowers

happysnail12 · 25/07/2025 19:22

Well done @WolfMother326and @Summersunshineblisssounds like you've kept going despite the stresses and strains of life. We all have "off weeks" and hurdles along the way, but what I've realised is that as long as you refocus and get back on plan, things generally continue in the right direction.

My issue in the past has always been that as soon as I "go off the rails" I throw in the towel and give up. I've had a few blips since restarting but essentially, I have managed to get back "on it" which is good.

Keep going. You've got this 💪🫶☺️

Thanks @happysnail12 I've gotten back on track but going to have a really tricky week as my husband is away and I'll be solo with my two very little ones. Going to focus on maintaining rather than loss and just try to keep it in mind rather than stressing about fitting in exercise as it will be hard to.

RaraRachael · 27/07/2025 13:47

After 3 weeks of healthy eating and lots of walking resulting in no loss, I was very dispirited this week and did no eexercise and didn't take care with what I ate.
So I couldn't believe I've lost a pound and am back to 10.13. Makes no sense at all.

Well done to everyone who's still persevering 😅

Littletreefrog · 27/07/2025 15:35

@RaraRachael and this is exactly why I usually fail at diets because of things like that and I just thing what's the point.

I currently have my injured foot/ankle and now a stinking cold and H (I'm dropping the D for now) being particularly unsupportive but I am trying very hard not to throw the towel in because then I have let the shit things win.

happysnail12 · 28/07/2025 11:31

Well done @RaraRachael and @Littletreefrog for all of your perseverance! Glad you are finally seeing some movement on the scales @RaraRachael (despite the fact it makes no sense! 🤣) Hopefully it's the start of a bit of a whoosh. Sorry to hear you're having a tough time @Littletreefrog sending positive and supportive thoughts your way xx

Thank you @attitudemax yes, I'm definitely trying to do things sensibly, with the hope that I can make lifelong changes rather than quick faddy diets that I can't maintain. It's been slow and steady, but I am on track to meet both my short and longer-term goals. It's not been perfect but the overall trajectory has been downwards, so that's positive. I definitely won't be going down the route of any surgery. I am able to lose weight, it's the maintenance that has always been the issue, and I think that is more psychological than anything. Stress and comfort eating (and a love of food!). I'm really hoping I can make long-term changes as I move through my 40s and beyond. I want to be as healthy as possible as I get older and actually feel good about myself both physically and aesthetically.

Wednesday weigh in....2lbs this week 😊 which means I've just met my initial target of losing 1 stone before I go away. It's taken 3 months and been a little bit up and down, but I've got there! 😁 Now to keep going....

Long-term goal is to reach 10st and a healthy BMI.

Next mini-goal is to move into the next stone bracket.

I am going to keep going with aiming to lose a 1lb a week. 20lbs to lose - 21 weeks until Christmas. Let's go!

Hope everyone is doing okay?

Glad I checked in here to see everyone's inspiring positive posts! Well done @happysnail12 for meeting your goal and that's exciting @rararachael

I'm sticking to plan but definitely feeling uninspired. Husband is away for another 4 days so can't run which really helps me stay motivated but I've been trying to walk and do a bit of strength training at home with the baby. I'm maintaining at around 72 kg but hoping to be under 70 by end of summer/September. Like @happysnail12 I'm going to keep going through the autumn! Would love to get to 65 kg.

happysnail12 · 31/07/2025 08:23

Well done for keeping at it @WolfMother326 it must be difficult being on your own with 2 young children. You're doing great 😊
