14 weeks until beachy summer holiday. If I can lose a 1lb a week that's a stone by August.

As the title says. Hoping to lose a stone by August so that I am feeling better about myself on holiday.

The reality is I have 2.5 stone to lose all together but thought this would be a good first target.

I've just had a look at my fitness pal and I've literally been yo-yoing between 15.5 stone and 11.5 stone for over 5 years!!! I follow the same pattern. Get to 11/12ish stone. Feel better about myself. Begin badly eating again. Gain weight. Repeat.

I am currently 12 st 6lbs but this time last year was a stone lighter.. I don't want to be getting back up into the 15s so I'm determined to get myself back on track.

Therefore I'm going to weigh in here every Wednesday until August (to start with). Anyone is welcome to join me along the way.

I’m pms central this week and have put on the KG I lost! But I’m learning better habits and how many calories are in what. Slow and steady right?

happysnail12 · 02/07/2025 22:12

Slow and steady all the way 🐌 you're doing great x

As you can see from my log - every time I come on my period (marked with the little 🙄), the scales go up. However, overall the numbers are going down. Keep going, you've got this x

WolfMother326 · 02/07/2025 22:39

I'm trying to stay slow and steady with my calorie counting, been doing it 12 days every single meal which I'm proud of. Not losing a ton so far but I feel better. Hoping I can stick with it, even if I lose a kg a month I would still be down to the 60s by my big event in late autumn.
I went to my local running club tonight and will try to have a run tomorrow too.
Congratulations @happysnail12 great progress 👏

Littletreefrog · 05/07/2025 08:49

Whoop whoop I did it! Reached my goal of losing 10% of my body weight.
Started 19th April on 12 stone 13lbs
Today's weigh in is 11 stone 7lbs!
I never get this far I normally give up after about 2 weeks. I've set another 10% goal which will take me to 10st 4lb but I think getting there will be a lot harder now the initial weight has come off. Also still can't walk properly after spraining my ankle so that's not great.

Summersunshinebliss · 05/07/2025 17:36

@Littletreefrog congratulations 🎊 👏

I've lost one pound this week happy with that.

4 pounds off in total now

happysnail12 · 05/07/2025 22:18

Well done @WolfMother326@Littletreefrogand @Summersunshinebliss. You are all doing amazingly! Well done 👏 Thank you for sharing your successes 😊 I've just got back from a London gig weekend with my best friend. Stayed mostly on plan and did lots of walking and dancing so hoping the damage won't be too bad!

OP posts:
Summersunshinebliss · 07/07/2025 18:37

Thanks @happysnail12 what gig did you go to? Pretty sure all the walking and dancing will have helped in loads of different ways.

Finding this week a bit meh 😕 got some kind of lurgy I've no energy and feel not 100%. Went a bit mental in the Supermarket last week not sure what came over me but I bought cheesecakes slices and panna cotta pots 😞 done zero on the exercise front but still sticking to 1400 on Nutracheck a day. Will see what the scales say later in the week but my diet has been pretty poor with cola, crisps and all that unhealthy stuff 😕

Hope everyone is getting on well

happysnail12 · 07/07/2025 19:53

@SummersunshineblissI went to see the Stereophonics 🤘🎸 we had great fun but I did have fish and chips for lunch and jerk chicken and rice for dinner and then had a hotel breakfast the following morning! 🙈 I did try to be fairly sensible (avoided snacks and booze) but also wanted to enjoy myself.

Don't feel too bad about the supermarket choices. We are only human and it's so hard to stay motivated when feeling unwell. It sounds like despite everything you are continuing to track and stay mindful of calories, so you should be proud of that. The most important thing is to rest and recover and then when you are feeling better the exercise can resume 😊 (I'm rubbish at getting my exercise in even without the lurgy!)

Summersunshinebliss · 07/07/2025 21:07

Sounds like you had a brilliant weekend. With balanced food choices. Love the Stereophonics and hotel breakfasts! Well done on dodging the booze and snacks.

Thanks for your wise words Flowers your right I should be positive that still measuring/weighing and recording on Nutracheck. The exercise will be for another day Grin

RaraRachael · 07/07/2025 21:13

You did better than me @happysnail12 . I was at Wimbledon and ended up eating rubbish like Popeye's 😪

WolfMother326 · 07/07/2025 21:13

At least you haven't given up completely @summersunshinebliss that's a big thing. Everyone has wobbles you just have to keep going. And building in treats is important to long term success I think.

I'm still doing noom and been running a lot. It always feels so slow to get the weight off. Juggling my little ones is the hardest part but I'm focusing on eating tons of fruit veg and protein and healthy grains when I have them. I weigh every day for noom but it would be nice to have a weekly check in, so I'll join you on Wednesdays @happysnail12 Glad you had fun at the gig!

happysnail12 · 09/07/2025 07:42

Wednesday weigh in....Just shy of 2lbs this week, which is great considering I was away at the weekend. 2lb to go until I reach my 1 stone lost! 🤞fingers crossed for another loss this week...but very aware from my log that it's time for the period gain! We will see!

I have 2 more busy weekends coming up - my son's birthday is this weekend (bbq and cake! 🙈) and then back to London the following weekend. Hopefully, I can resist too much temptation!

I hope everyone else is doing okay x

Great stuff @happysnail12 . I'm hoping to get some decent walks in the nice weather to make up for last 2 weekends away.

Not looking forward to Sunday weigh in though.

happysnail12 · 09/07/2025 14:12

Thanks @RaraRachael 😊 walks sound like a good plan. Good luck for Sunday 🤞 x

WolfMother326 · 09/07/2025 20:32

Great job @happysnail12 and good luck with the walks/weigh in @RaraRachael

I've been feeling a bit wobbly, like the progress feels slow and I'm discouraged as I've been stuck in the mid 73 kg range for about 5 days. I'm not sure weighing daily is good but I promised myself I'd do noom for 3 months as I got a deal and paid for it. Looking at last week, I am down about half a kg. I hope I can stay consistent as I have a work conference this weekend. I plan to drink the wine but avoid the biscuits! Been running a bit and staying on my plan counting calories and eating whole foods.

I thought this might help me:
Starting weight at Christmas: 80kg
Starting again weight 20 June: 75.2 kg
Current weight: 73.4 kg

Littletreefrog · 09/07/2025 21:09

Well done @happysnail12!

I'm still on a bit of a go slow at the moment due to injury but it has highlighted that actually the calories I was on won't work without the exercise. So I think I need to drop the calories until I'm back on my feet.

Anyone find that they use food or drink or both to celebrate everything? DH suggested we do something to celebrate me reaching my first target but neither of us could think of something that didn't involve eating or drinking 🙈

happysnail12 · 09/07/2025 22:04

Don't be discouraged @WolfMother326 you are doing so well. My progress has been pretty slow too but it does all add up eventually.

And @Littletreefrogyes! Food and drink for everything! Celebrations, meeting friends and family, days out, bit of sunshine. Any excuse 🙈 Maybe you could treat yourself to a pamper day or a new outfit?

I’d love to join you please ! I’m a bit older than the rest of you (56) my holiday is in October and I’d like to be about 10st 7lb by then (I’m 5ft 4)
I started back in May with giving up alcohol which I’ve done successfully as I figured this was the root of my late-night snacking and following - day carb cravings, so far I’ve lost a stone and now weigh 11.12lb. I’m struggling with sugar cravings at the moment so allowing myself the odd biscuit after meals as I really miss puddings. I’m shocked at how little I must eat now in order to lose weight compared to when I was 10 years or so younger.

RaraRachael · 10/07/2025 13:31

Welcome @imold you're younger than me 😃

happysnail12 · 10/07/2025 13:44

Welcome @imold sounds like you've done amazingly so far 😊 x

Thanks for the welcome @happysnail12and @RaraRachael
Is it just me or does anyone else find it harder in their 50’s ? I lost a serious amount about 10 years ago for my sons wedding and I swear I was eating way more than I am now and easily losing 3lb each week

happysnail12 · 10/07/2025 21:55

Oh, don't tell me that. I've just turned 40 and it's hard enough now! 🙈
