14 weeks until beachy summer holiday. If I can lose a 1lb a week that's a stone by August.

As the title says. Hoping to lose a stone by August so that I am feeling better about myself on holiday.

The reality is I have 2.5 stone to lose all together but thought this would be a good first target.

I've just had a look at my fitness pal and I've literally been yo-yoing between 15.5 stone and 11.5 stone for over 5 years!!! I follow the same pattern. Get to 11/12ish stone. Feel better about myself. Begin badly eating again. Gain weight. Repeat.

I am currently 12 st 6lbs but this time last year was a stone lighter.. I don't want to be getting back up into the 15s so I'm determined to get myself back on track.

Therefore I'm going to weigh in here every Wednesday until August (to start with). Anyone is welcome to join me along the way.

@LittletreefrogI was always a MFP kind of gal, until I saw my friend using Nutracheck! No, I've not done any Park Runs. We have a running club at work now so doing that and then hoping to sign up for an event around October time! I will check out Parkrun, I know others who do it.

happysnail12 · 06/06/2025 07:27

I tend to weigh in daily (as well as my official Wednesday weigh in). Moved into the overweight category this morning. Still a long way to go but still a mini victory. Next mini goal is to move into the 11 stone bracket 😊

Weigh in today. 1 whole stone down since I started middle of April. But I didn't start using the Nutracheck App until I had already lost a pound or two so no fanfare or badge or anything to show for it which I was strangely disappointed about.

happysnail12 · 06/06/2025 13:24

Wow that's amazing! @Littletreefroghere's a big fanfare from me 🎉 you're an inspiration ✨️

@happysnail12 thank you very much, strangely motivated this time round which I haven't been before which definitely makes a difference I've normally given up by now.

RaraRachael · 09/06/2025 13:22

I haven't lost anything this week but have been away from home so not able to control my food intake or exercising as well as normal.

Trying to get back on track by walking 2-3km every day and eating sensibly again.

happysnail12 · 09/06/2025 22:30

Hi,@RaraRachaelIt's so hard when away from home, but sounds like you have got straight back on it which is brilliant 😊 x

Chocolateeggsarebetterthannormalchocolate · 10/06/2025 18:35

Well done @RaraRachaelI've always found it hard to keep on track when away from home! Hopefully not now I'm calorie counting though!

happysnail12 · 11/06/2025 07:35

Wednesday weigh in....just under 2lbs lost this week and officially overweight instead of obese!

Hoping to lose at least a lb next week to reach my half stone milestone and move out of the 12s and into the 11s.

9 weeks until I go away 😊

Hope everyone is doing well.

Well done @happysnail12 🥰

Littletreefrog · 11/06/2025 08:35

Brilliant @happysnail12

I've been bad at getting out for my walks this last week, walking in the rain just doesn't have the same appeal. We do have a treadmill in the garage so I should have done that but I'm just feeling a bit lazy at the moment. This is why volunteering at parkrun works for me because once I've put my name down I have to go!

Still stuck to my calories but we have a father's day meal out on Sunday so that's not great.

RaraRachael · 15/06/2025 19:22

Third week with no loss. I really want to crack the 11 stone barrier so quite disappointed.

Looks like a nice week of weather ahead so hopefully will get some long walks in

thenewaveragebear1983 · 15/06/2025 21:04

Wow @happysnail12youre smashing it, well done 👏
I’ve had an ok few weeks but my weight bobs around and this week has not been good. I’ve run a half marathon today so yesterday I was carb loading and today post race I’ve eaten nice meals and a magnum and a few glasses of wine. I now have 8 weeks until holiday so need to knuckle down now

happysnail12 · 16/06/2025 10:56

Keep going @RaraRachaelkeeping everything crossed for you for a loss soon.

I too, am fighting to get into the 11s and know the same frustration! I unofficially weigh in daily and after being so close to the 11s (literally 12st 0), came on my period on Friday (weirdly early...I'm blaming hormonal changes now I'm 40) and immediately shot back up to 12st 2lbs again, which I've been stuck at since 😭 I'm trying to stay rational and recognise fluctuations and see it as an added bonus to tracking on here that I'm also noticing patterns and changes in my menstrual cycle but still so frustrating! I've done nothing different but 2lbs back on and back to being obese!!

Fingers crossed it will quickly come back off but we will see.

Thank you@thenewaveragebear1983 I'm trying my best 😊 and wow, a half marathon that's amazing! You definitely deserve a glass of wine after that! Keep going and I'm sure you'll feel amazing by the time you are on your holiday 😊

Well, as expected a gain this week - 1/2lb back on (not quite as bad as expected as I was still 2lb heavier yesterday!). However, I am very aware that this is what my body does when I'm on my period. I have continued to eat well and move more so fingers crossed that next week I finally see the 11s! 🤞

Hope everyone else is doing well 😊

I’m in the same situation. I’m trying to get to 10st by August for our family beach holiday. I started in January at 15st 8lbs and today I am 11st 5lbs. Progress is getting slow and I’m finding I’m having a few more cheat days than I should be. I really need the accountability to stay on track.

Chocolateeggsarebetterthannormalchocolate · 18/06/2025 09:59

Well done @AronaBlueyou've done amazing!

I completely forgot to weigh in last Friday, because I was too busy doing a pregnancy test (positive but still going to try and behave!)! Then had a big tea Friday so didn't want to weigh in on Saturday!

RaraRachael · 18/06/2025 11:03

@AronaBlue well done, that's brilliant! My target is also 10 stone from 11.4. I made good progress in the first few weeks but have stalled on 11 stone for the past 3 weeks. Getting a bit despondent now as I can't think what more I can do.

happysnail12 · 18/06/2025 13:34

Well done everyone 👏 wow @AronaBlue that's amazing, you must be feeling great. Having you been following a specific plan? 😊 @Chocolateeggsarebetterthannormalchocolate(I hope I'm correct in my understanding that you have a positive pregnancy test?) If so huge congratulations 😁 such lovely news.
Keep going @RaraRachael we've got this 💪

MrsSkylerWhite · 18/06/2025 13:37

Good luck. Try your fit in as much walking as you can. Will make a noticeable difference in muscle tone in 14 weeks.

RaraRachael · 18/06/2025 13:48

How much walking per day will actually make a big difference? I aim for 2 to 3 km per day.

Chocolateeggsarebetterthannormalchocolate · 18/06/2025 13:50

Haha yes that's right @happysnail12.. just started outdoor running with work too! Will be keeping it up though! Thank you 😊
