14 weeks until beachy summer holiday. If I can lose a 1lb a week that's a stone by August.

As the title says. Hoping to lose a stone by August so that I am feeling better about myself on holiday.

The reality is I have 2.5 stone to lose all together but thought this would be a good first target.

I've just had a look at my fitness pal and I've literally been yo-yoing between 15.5 stone and 11.5 stone for over 5 years!!! I follow the same pattern. Get to 11/12ish stone. Feel better about myself. Begin badly eating again. Gain weight. Repeat.

I am currently 12 st 6lbs but this time last year was a stone lighter.. I don't want to be getting back up into the 15s so I'm determined to get myself back on track.

Therefore I'm going to weigh in here every Wednesday until August (to start with). Anyone is welcome to join me along the way.

Well done @happysnail12. It's so good to break the barrier into the next stone down 😄

MsAnnFrope · 25/06/2025 16:59

Yes well done @happysnail12 i need a new battery for my scales but I’m a week in and keeping to my nutracheck calorie limit and moving every day

happysnail12 · 25/06/2025 17:59

Thanks everyone ☺️ sounds like you are all doing great too 👍 xx

Summersunshinebliss · 25/06/2025 15:33

That's fab @happysnail12 we'll done.

I am craving a slice of sponge cake 🎂 😩 apart from that stuck to my Nutracheck calories and have been exercising daily.

What is your nutracheck calorie limit? Mine is 1400 but I’m trying to get under that and not eating my exercise calories.
I’m not very tall so my calories should probably be 1200 but then I would end up savaging someone!

Summersunshinebliss · 26/06/2025 13:35

@MsAnnFrope my daily calories are same as you 1400. I sometimes save some daily calories for the weekend to use on having a few drinks. I don't add in my exercise to Nutracheck, I use another app to track my exercise time/distance.

Littletreefrog · 26/06/2025 15:57

My Nutracheck calories are 1384 and I don't eat my exercise calories unless it's a special occasion. I actually find it's an ok amount to stick to but some things have been a surprise calorie wise. My absolute best find is a Freddo a Curlywurly or a Time Out are roughly the same calories as one of those Skinny Whip bars and far nicer and feel more like a treat.

MsAnnFrope · 26/06/2025 16:31

@Littletreefrog yes it’s been interesting to see where I’ve been “spending” calories! I’m trying to keep slightly under this week so I can have cake at the weekend as it’s a family birthday.

Summersunshinebliss · 26/06/2025 19:56

Agree calories have been an eye opener. Went to Tesco today and picked up black pudding it was around 360 calories for two slices. Put it back on the shelf.

The Bury Black Pudding Company (available in ASDA I'm not sure where else) is 70 calories per slice. I was craving a fry up and managed to do one for not that many calories by just having one of everything.

Summersunshinebliss · 26/06/2025 23:02

Amazing thanks @Littletreefrog will go on the hunt for it. Love a fry up on a Sunday morning.

Summersunshinebliss · 28/06/2025 09:00

First weight in this morning and I've lost 3 pounds.

RaraRachael · 28/06/2025 09:39

Well done @Summersunshinebliss that's amazing.

I'm away for the next 2 weekends so not too hopeful of losing much 😪

happysnail12 · 28/06/2025 11:09

@Summersunshineblissthat's brilliant 👏 well done! 😁

@RaraRachaelthe weekends are definitely the hardest part aren't they. My July is packed with weekends away, birthdays and eating out. I'm obviously excited and looking forward to spending time with my family and friends but another part of me dreads the lack ability (or willpower) to have control over my eating when I'm not in my normal routine.

Off to watch the Stereophonics next weekend so maybe I'll burn some calories dancing 🤷‍♀️

Yes how are people dealing with weekend events/travel and keeping to calories because I am stuck! No free time to burn off and lots of going out to eat 😭

I am trying to adjust my other meals so I don't have to be too restrictive at events. Also make some changes to what I eat when out. I had lunch with a friend the other day and got an unbreaded chicken burger and didn't eat the bun i also had wedges rather than skinny chips and didn't eat all of them. Also for example on Tuesday DH and I are going to the theatre usually this would involve going to an Italian restaurant beforehand but we are eating in and just going into town just for the theatre.

MsAnnFrope · 28/06/2025 21:56

Thanks @Littletreefrog trying to do that too. Hopefully over a week/month it will balance out

Littletreefrog · 28/06/2025 22:07

@MsAnnFrope yes I work on a weekly basis so if I know I have something on where I want to be able to eat above my daily calories I try to be under my calories the rest of the week.

WolfMother326 · 30/06/2025 21:33

Hey how is everyone doing in this heat? I find it so difficult to get steps in and definitely not up for running. Makes me want to eat less but also want to drink wine!
I've been sticking to it for about 10 days and lost 1 kg so far. Hoping to ramp things up a bit when I can be more physically active later in the week, I'll have some childcare and it will be a more reasonable temperature!

Littletreefrog · 30/06/2025 22:07

@WolfMother326 well the heat has hampered my exercise but not in the way you would expect. I went paddling in the sea and managed to stand in some sort of hole and sprained my ankle. So I've spent the last two days pretty immobile with people offering me ice creams or beer. I've been pretty good though but I'm desperate to get back to my walking.

Summersunshinebliss · 01/07/2025 12:32

Thanks all 😊

@Littletreefrog hope your sprained ankle gets better soon.

@WolfMother326 finding it difficult to get out exercising in the heat. I think will wait until early evening when it's slightly cooler and then I can't be bothered 😕

@MsAnnFrope I think of my calories as a weekly amount rather than daily. Would that help?

happysnail12 · 02/07/2025 06:34

Wednesday weigh in....Just shy of 3lbs this week which is unheard of for me! Haven't really done anything different, so not sure why the bigger drop, but I'm not complaining! Maybe I've sweated it off! 🥵

Sounds like everyone is doing really well. Thank you for sharing all of your experiences and advice. I don't always manage to reply to everyone but reading your post really helps me stay on track x

That's fantastic @happysnail12 well done 👏

I am all bloated and puffy this week 😩 aiming for at least half a pound off 🤞

RaraRachael · 02/07/2025 11:41

We done @happysnail12 amazing loss.
I'm not at home for 2 Sunday weigh ins so I'll be delighted if I've lost 3 lbs over 3 weeks!

happysnail12 · 02/07/2025 12:46

@RaraRachaelThat's my usual rate of loss to be honest! 3lbs is definitely an anomoly. I'm sure I'll have some fluctuations along the way, but taking the win this week ☺️ I'm away 3 weekends in row from this Friday but am going to try my best to stick to healthy options as much as possible.
