I’ve finally come to the end of the road with being a fatty. I’ve had enough of being a size 20/22 and I’m finally going to actually do something it once and for all!

I plan on starting tomorrow without fail..

i will weigh myself in the morning but I’m roughly 17 stone! Which at 5.4 is massive… I’m fed up
of feeling shit and tired insecure unhappy and embarrassed by my size I avoid most social situations.. I want to be fit healthy and be able to run around walk up hills and play with my small children without feeling like I’m dying after 2 mins of running…

I know it’s going to be a long hard slog and there will be slip ups along the way no doubt but I’m determined to do it this time.

im going to use this as a journal kinder thing and something I can look back on.. I will weigh myself every Monday and update.. if anyone wants to join feel free and if no one does at least I can read back haha..

my plan is low carb and calorie count having about 1400 calories a day roughly.. While also trying to get 10k steps in a day which might be a challenge as I’m so unfit…

i wish myself and everyone luck :) xxx

Well I’ve so far had today

a hule protein drink and a banana for brekkie
some grapes and a fish finger for snack (kids left one and I couldn’t leave it on its own would be criminal to waste )
2 yogurts
mackerel and a bowl of salad
and 6 slices of chicken ham
will be having vegetable soup for tea.

also drank 2 litres of water so I’m peeing all the time.

@rahlikeatiger if it’s any consolation - I’ve done 5 weeks on mounjaro and stopped it - I couldn’t hack the heartburn and waves of nausea for 3 days every week - Im using herbal appetite suppressants with a GLP1 component once a day and am losing at same rate as I was on mounjaro by doing a1200 cal a day max 5 days a week and 1400 at weekends . I have good willpower so didn’t really need the constant suppression thing of the jabs .

@Crikeyalmighty I'm watching here and joining all of you in the weighloss journey. Seems like that's my 50th attempt Confused Can you recommend a specific herbal product which is helping you Blush

Crikeyalmighty · 04/06/2025 20:36

@eoneI use a Berberine based one one from sensilab called GLP1 - it does have a mild GLP1 effect , just not as much as mounjaro - you take 2 30 minutes before main meal - I find they do kind of give me that ‘full quite quickly’ feeling. There’s lots of similar ones about, usually berberine based - works for some, not for others - but for me it takes the edge of appetite and personally that’s all I really need as I’m not a food noise person to be honest . I’m all for people using the WLI injections if they don’t get side effects that hamper their life- me personally I found I could only eat really bland diet or got heartburn and that got me down somewhat - others don’t get this though . However if I struggle further down the line I may use them again

Thank you so much. For me it is stress eating and writing days off food wise as soon as I eat any snack. Have been good today and ate what I planned. Fingers crossed tomorrow will be equally as good

Crikeyalmighty · 04/06/2025 21:32

@eone yep I know that feeling - well I’ve had a piece of cheese on toast , I may as well have a bag of crisps now etc - I think the way I get round this is I will have a very small portion of something I really fancy - so if out and my H has say a brownie - I will have a 1/4 of it - I like taramasalta as an example but it’s quite fattening - so I will spread 2 crisp bread with it very very thinly and top with hard boiled egg or cucumber - rather than just sit and eat a whole tub with pita. I’ve got several very slim friends and I learnt a long time ago they can kind of make not much look a lot - so will have say 2 crisp breads with hummus quite thinly spread - then a pile of chopped peppers and cucumber , a few olives and half a dozen grapes - it kind of looks a lot but isn’t. It does require you to keep a lot of good fresh food in so you aren’t tempted to grab cakes/biscuits/ salty snacks

rahlikeatiger · 05/06/2025 09:06

Hi everyone. I’ve been away and so struggled to get back on it. Currently getting told off by my Apple Watch 🙈 for less exercise and I’m so bloated and tired. I’ve started by upping my water. With the bloating and poor food choices I’ve put on 3lbs. I’m on it now though. Just off shopping for some healthier choices! I have to be honest here and say that I’ve been eating a lot of chips etc whilst away and need to knock sugar and takeaways on the head. Also fizzy drinks. I’m going to attempt intermittent fasting - not snacking at night and no breakfast - as that really helped last time. Once again it’s a reset!

Miraclemuma03 · 08/06/2025 04:40

Im down another 400g and it's not quiet my officially weigh in day. I have been naughty today and have eaten some Cadbury almond chocolate. But I have absolutely not stopped and barely eaten for 3 weeks. Maybe only eating dinner, so not exactly the healthiest but I dont really eat take out so I dont it for myself while im out and about so I just go without all day and come home and eat dinner which is usually meat and veg.

rahlikeatiger · 08/06/2025 13:49

I need some of that motivation @Miraclemuma03 I have not been eating well. I have struggled massively. Sleep, stress, kids. I thought I had lost 3lbs. Weighed again. Not true. Sobs. I’m going to reset this coming week.

Tibby2024 · 09/06/2025 10:17

Well I’ve lost 2lbs on week 1 :) I would of probably lost more but I had 2 days where I had Pizza Hut and a whole tub of Ben and jerrys and another day where I had a large family areo chocolate bar with coke and 4 bags of crisps and 4 cheese sandwiches all in one go :0 so yea I slipped up a few times… but I’m happy I’ve lost 2 lbs..

my aim for this week is to try not to have any more slip ups…

so stats are
starting weight 17 7
c w 17 5

also I want to drink more water ive slacked on that.

It sounds like you head is in the right place, and that is the first hurdle jumped. Low carb, I agree with 100% I lost over 4 stone in 9 months on high protein low. I still maintain to this day 4 poached eggs and 2 slices brown toast for breakfast every day (without fail) kick started and help me lose the weight (egg are the number one superfood by a country mile). The best of luck. If you need any further advice, don't hesitate to ask.

Can I ask how long you feel full for on that breakfast? It sounds very filling which I need.

babasaclover · 09/06/2025 19:28

@Tibby2024how do you find the huel ? I love the idea but tried one and hated it like couldn’t even take another sip what flavour and is it pre made?

Tibby2024 · 10/06/2025 08:26

@babasacloverwell I won’t lie I don’t particularly love it like you say quite sickly sweet with a cardboard taste I find ha, I use the pre-made bottles I don’t have everyday as prefer to have actual food but when I’ve not got much time or in a rush out and about etc then will have one either for brekkie or lunch.. so about 3/4times a week just one a day as got high protein… I did try to have 2 a day but needed actual food lol.. they good as a backup but yea not overly loving the taste.. x

Miraclemuma03 · 10/06/2025 09:02

No weigh in this week. I had a house full and have been running around like the mad hatter. Had 2 days where I wasn't watching my points so god knows what that has done. I am bloated and feel a bit upset in my stomach so there is that. Back to tracking tomorrow and then il start the weigh in again as of next week.
@Tibby2024 good job with the start of the weight loss, small changes to start and dont allow yourself to get too down about slipping up, just correct it as you go

I know exactly what you mean. I really like slim fast as a protein shake but I only like the stuff you mix at home in the blender. I find the premade disgusting. Wish there was something I could grab on the go that I like would rather have a shake than crisps snacks et cetera which is what I do go to!!!

It keeps me feeling full until around 11 am then I start to feel peckish, but I see this as a good thing. I now see hunger for what it is, the bodies way of telling you the tank needs more fuel, however the problem with that is if you simply just add more fuel every time you feel hungry you will never dip into your reserves. So my theory be right or wrong is, if I’m hungry an hour before my next meal then that’s good, my body will use its reserves. I also find if I don’t give in to the temptation to snack and wait half an hour, I don’t feel that hungry. I still have a light lunch (as I don’t want to feel ravenous at 3 pm then dip into the biscuit box) just enough to keep me going until 4ish then I’ll feel a little peckish again an hour before tea.

That’s really good and I do think your logic is accurate. Let’s do this 💪💪💪

Tibby2024 · 12/06/2025 08:41

Well I’ve been good past few days, night times are my worse as that’s when I think of food constantly!! So I’ve got to use all my will power not to scoff. I do find the days go so slow when dieting, I guess early days.. I have a hot chocolate when I get cravings as it seems to satisfy the sweet cravings and nice to have something..

OP posts:
rahlikeatiger · 12/06/2025 13:31

I agree. Nights are def worse. I’m trying not to buy anything sweet in. If it’s not in, I can’t eat it :)

I’ve starting to see a small loss again after watching and logging what I eat (aiming for a deficit) on nutracheck. It’s very early days though!

how’s everyone else doing?

Tibby2024 · 12/06/2025 20:32

@rahlikeatiger well it’s been a good day today :) another one down, I’m doing it day by day at the moment just trying to do a bit better each day.. do need up my water though I’ve only had a litre I want to aim for 2 a day x glad to hear you are moving back on downwards every lil bit counts, just keep dreaming of when you are slimmer lol keeps me going all the things I can do and how I will be healthy again not on the brink of so many health problems. @Tibby2024 I am same height as you and was 116.2kg last Friday. I have started on weight loss jabs to help kick start but I am.also making sure that I keep a low carb diet and up my steps.

Good luck!!! Definitely sounds like you are taking a sensible approach.

My wedding dress arrived yesterday and I couldn’t get the darn thing on , well and truly stuck on my chunky butt and thighs

13st 5LB 5ft 4 bmi 33.3 iirc

wedding in October 🙈 , had a good cry and decided I will not be defeated and will fit my dress ! , will be weighing daily and posting update weekly

so far I’m averaging 20k daily steps , 1400 calories first week properly tracking every thing

bluebellsandspring · 14/06/2025 04:11

20K daily steps is a lot! How do you find the time?

I'm not doing so well. I've been focusing on changing my diet away from convenience foods and sugary carbohydrates, but have been eating far too many nuts. Not lost any weight at all and if anything I've put some on.

Cazs818 · 14/06/2025 04:54

@bluebellsandspring finding it relatively easy atm , busy mum sahm to 5 ,minimum 3 30min dog walks when it’s not raining 🤪its longer, 30-1hr treadmil , then I do 30 minutes weighted hula hoop , 30 minutes boxing , normal mum duty’s add the rest of the steps in
