April, nice and easy 4 pounds.

Anyone fancy joining us for a goal to loose 4lb in April?
A few of us have found that no matter what the end goal is that breaking this down into smaller 4lb monthly chunks is much more manageable (and less scary).

We all had different ways to reach our goal and different end goals.

Anyone interested in focusing on 4 lbs?

@Ameliepoulainandthephotobooth Eeeh three stone due to meds - are you still on them?

@Gingerwarthog same here, I work over full time and have children. I do weights and run but still gaining weight. I’m actually contemplating stopping exercising and resuming binge drinking as I was skinny back then!

Doyouthinktheyknow · 16/04/2025 08:10

Morning all, sounds like everyone is working really hard👏

I blame the menopause for my weight gain @WeAreBorg, I was never really slim but gained the best part of 2 stone over the last few years with the menopause and it’s been so hard to shift!

Well done @Ameliepoulainandthephotobooth, that’s an excellent loss!

I am 4lb down this month as of this morning. Currently 11st 11lb, starting weight was 13st 1lb so I’m getting there. I want to get to 11 stone or thereabouts which would take me to a healthy BMI!

I have been going to the gym regularly and can feel it in my dodgy knee somewhat. It’s not getting worse so I’m carrying on and I definitely feel fitter and stronger! I am hoping losing the excess weight will help my knees too!

Ameliepoulainandthephotobooth · 16/04/2025 09:23

@WeAreBorg no, thankfully! They did the job though and despite the weight gain I would take them again if needed. It was over 6 years.

@Doyouthinktheyknow well done, that’s amazing progress!

@WeAreBorgno! Keep on keeping on.
Will report back on Friday morning (weigh in day) as to whether any weight has been lost. Like you though I am happy sometimes just to maintain.

YourOnMute · 16/04/2025 11:48

Sorry I'm unable to track who has said what 😂.
But I was on steroids during COVID and absolutely piled the weight on. When I stopped I lost a good amount but have been left with ten kilo (currently 7) that I just couldn't shift.
My GP has told me that not gaining weight is important too. So that is a win.
It's common for people at the gym to walk backwards as exercise to recuperate knees. Doesn't have to be much.

YourOnMute · 16/04/2025 11:49

And well done to all losses and maintaining. It's not gaining!

WeAreBorg · 16/04/2025 19:35

When do people tend to weigh themselves? Like a set time and day each week?
Im avoiding the scales atm but must be brave haha

Ameliepoulainandthephotobooth · 16/04/2025 20:25

@WeAreBorg I weigh myself daily to see any trends but my ‘proper’ weigh day at the moment (while doing this) is the 1st of the month and then weekly from there. Whatever works for you!

Btw, time wise I do it after my morning bowel movement!

Lost 3lbs. Happy Easter!

Ameliepoulainandthephotobooth · 19/04/2025 16:35

Thank you!
hard work - loads of walking/running and limited carbs

Hey, late joiner here! I think losing 4 pounds monthly is a great goal.

I’m 10stone 4, down 3 pounds in two weeks . I was 10st 12 earlier this month but I’m sure about 5 pounds of that was period weight. So I’m counting the loss from the 10stone 7 I was shortly after my period ended two weeks ago.

I’d be so chuffed if I can lose another 2 pounds before my period starts again.

10stone 2 would be my lowest weight since 2018 and would give me great motivation to lose another 4 pounds in May which would give me a BMI of 25/26 as I’m 5ft 2.

I’m finding intermittent fasting and 2 meals a day with a couple of healthy snacks works best for me. Today I’ll have coffee with some dark chocolate, and apple with peanut butter for a snack. Then stir fried beef with one tortilla wrap and sweet potato for my main meal. And a kind of oat smoothie for my lighter meal in the evening.

My eating window is usually from 12 to 8pm but today I’m going to try 10am-6pm. Just hope I don’t feel too peckish later on in the evening.

I had one too.. oops!

Ameliepoulainandthephotobooth · 21/04/2025 10:57

I’m another 3lb down this week! (Despite the hot cross bun breakfast!).

Doyouthinktheyknow · 21/04/2025 11:24

Well done @Ameliepoulainandthephotobooth, that’s amazing!

I’m another 2lb down, less than a stone to go until I’m a healthy BMI!

Welcome @Loseitrr, I’m intermittent fasting too, don’t find it too arduous and it seems to be working!

Ameliepoulainandthephotobooth · 21/04/2025 17:35

@Doyouthinktheyknow well done! Almost there.

@Loseitrr well done! I love IF, don’t have to think!

Oh dear...I had a shocking virus 2 weeks ago that made me want to eat nothing but carbs, then Easter. A few too many coffee shop visits and family gatherings had meant I've fallen magnificently off the wagon.
Climbing back on today to try and salvage the rest of the month.
Well done to everyone who has managed to keep off the chocolate and hot cross buns.

YourOnMute · 22/04/2025 11:22

Don't get disheartened @mamaduckbone , remember life happens.
I'm back from holiday, slight gain of .6kg from my lowest but I had been gaining in the days before I left. I definitely notice the gym equals gains in weight for me. I walked the legs off me on holidays, at least 20k steps must days. Unfortunately we went for a cycle and I was knocked off my bike by another cyclist and took a bad fall. My left leg is badly bruised and cut. Still sore.
Lots of lovely losses here! Well done!
I weigh every day so I can see fluctuations. That helps take away the "oh I haven't lost, best throw in the towel" mentality for me.

Ameliepoulainandthephotobooth · 22/04/2025 11:30

@mamaduckbone don’t worry. Life happens but you are back! Hope you feel better?

@YourOnMute ouch! Are you ok?

OP posts:
mamaduckbone · 22/04/2025 14:32

Went for my first run in 3 weeks this morning (finally feeling better) which felt good and motivated me to come back and have almond milk porridge, banana and blueberries for breakfast.
I've been gardening all morning and had salad for lunch, with a little bit of cheese and a couple of wheat crackers.
I may have accidentally eaten a mini maltesers bunny and a teeny tiny cookie, but it's certainly an improvement on the absolute crap I've been gorging on for the past 2 weeks.
Hoping the 3lb gain is mostly due to carbs and wine yesterday rather than a permanent backslide - I'll weigh again tomorrow after a healthier day and hope it's only a pound or so.
