April, nice and easy 4 pounds.

Anyone fancy joining us for a goal to loose 4lb in April?
A few of us have found that no matter what the end goal is that breaking this down into smaller 4lb monthly chunks is much more manageable (and less scary).

We all had different ways to reach our goal and different end goals.

Anyone interested in focusing on 4 lbs?

I'm in. I stuck in a rut of off on off on off on

1 stone down but need more gone

Insidelaurashed · 02/04/2025 14:10

ooh yes count me in please. I'm recovering from some health stuff which has meant eating well and exercising has gone out of the window the past 3 months and I'm really ready for a reset. We are away (Portugal) Sunday to Tuesday so I'm aware that won't be perfect food wise, but I don't drink much, will be sensible and we will walk a lot. Then I will be totally on it when I get back.

Ameliepoulainandthephotobooth · 02/04/2025 21:02

@ThisUniqueDreamer and @Goandygo well done for not giving up. I had a hot cross bun for pudding 😂

@reversegear I usually work in kg too but lbs felt easier 😂 if I can see 1lb come off im going to be more motivated than seeing 0.5kg.

@willitevergetwarm same here, losing the same few pounds over and over.

@Insidelaurashed have a lovely holiday! I did this last year in the run up to my holiday in November but put it all back on due to poor health. I’m back on the eating but waiting for the all clear to start moving again soon.

Todays food was a mozzarella salad for lunch and gnocchi with tomatoes, spinach and courgettes for dinner and a hot cross bun which accidentally fell into my mouth

Thanks for the new thread @Ameliepoulainandthephotobooth, lovely to have so many joining.

Im officially a stone down. 12st 1lb on 1st April so hope to be below 12 stone for the first time in years in a couple of weeks.

I’m working a lot so diet hasn’t been amazing but I’m sticking to my fasting periods and 3rd gym visit this week is this morning.

Goandygo · 03/04/2025 07:29

@Doyouthinktheyknow that's great you're in a new Stone Zone, or will be. I think it's important to recognise these victories, as it keeps you motivated. Keep going - you'll get there.

I wasn't great yesterday but I did do lots of exercise and I did drink 2 litres of water, so even though a cinnamon hot cross bun fell into my mouth ( @Ameliepoulainandthephotobooth 🤣), I'm still optimistic I can do it.

I've sorted my wardrobe for Easter weekend away, and even though I could obviously do with losing a stone, the clothes look really nice ( some new bits, some old favourites). I'm glad I did this as I don't feel 'panicky' about clothes for holiday. No pressure - even if I don't lose weight, I know I'll still look OK.

Ameliepoulainandthephotobooth · 03/04/2025 08:11

@Doyouthinktheyknow well done!

@Goandygo glad I’m not the only victim of cake attack!
It’s so good just to feel a bit more confident and comfortable about yourself.

Thanks guys♥️

You’re right @Ameliepoulainandthephotobooth, it feels really good to feel a bit more confident and not have to worry whether clothes are going to do up!

Part of my problem I think in terms of weight gain was the almost 5 years I lived in scrubs during covid! Wearing what amounts to pyjamas is very comfortable but you don’t notice creeping weight!

I changed job last autumn and for the first time since Covid I’m back to wearing my own clothes. I still avoid fitted waistbands but my dresses and trousers are definitely looser and look and feel so much better.

Hope you have a lovely Easter weekend away @Goandygo, the weather is really lovely, long may it last😎

We have booked a cheeky night away next week for dh’s birthday so my diet will slightly go out the window but we will walk loads and I might try for a sea swim🥶

Ameliepoulainandthephotobooth · 03/04/2025 12:16

@Doyouthinktheyknow same here re scrubs! Absolutely like putting on pjs! I’ve been off the ward for 3 years and the only thing that I miss is the scrubs (and unsociable hours pay).

OP posts:
Ameliepoulainandthephotobooth · 03/04/2025 12:16

I love a sea swim but haven’t been in yet this year!

OP posts:
Doyouthinktheyknow · 03/04/2025 15:59

@Ameliepoulainandthephotobooth, I was a ward manager and I stepped back to band 6 so although I’m off the wards, I am back to doing weekends and nights so whilst on paper I took a pay cut, in reality I earn a bit more. For so much less stress, a real win for me🤩

I did like the scrubs for comfort but they really did me no favours at all🫣

I haven’t been in the sea yet this year either, feel like it’s time🥶

Ameliepoulainandthephotobooth · 03/04/2025 22:25

@Doyouthinktheyknow I don’t think that they did anyone any favours!

Hi, can I join too? My weight often goes up and down by 6-8lbs or so, then none of my clothes fit and I lose it again. Here I am, wanting to lose around 8lbs. 4lbs for April sounds achievable. I’ve got a 2 day hotel stay though to manage.

TealSloth · 04/04/2025 06:45

I have messed up last night ended up eating popcorn. Home made. Nibbled on kids food which I shouldn't have.
Yesterday was a day where i just wanted to relax and unwind myself. But messed up with the food.
Need to get myself back on it again. Today il be back on track.

Goandygo · 04/04/2025 09:30

@Zanatdy hi and welcome. My weight goes up and down similarly. 4lbs is definitely achievable - it's hard when you're away ( is it work ?). I'd just make a few small changes - no pressure, either. We only do what we can do.
@TealSloth I wasn't brilliant yesterday either, though I did do lots of exercise. My problem is rewarding myself with wine and cheese ! I'd worked more hours than usual, so need to change that mindset.
I'm back on track today, too.

ThisUniqueDreamer · 04/04/2025 10:07

I went to the gym after work. The problem is it makes you hungrier. So i ate a huge amount of pasta bake. Hopefully it will offset

Sorry, just saw IF! That’s what I’m doing ish. Small eating window most days but omad where I can. Previously I was omad with a weekly 36 hour fast which worked well but I need to work back up to it!

I've not had a great week. So i might delay my weigh in and try better next week

Last week I had a loss and if I have a gain I find it demotivating. Id rather not know

Yes, somewhere between 16:8 and 18:6 most days, never less than 16 hours fast! I have supper by 8pm, earlier if I’m not working and don’t eat before 1pm generally. I’m trying for 4 gym sessions a week, a mix of cardio and weights plus swimming. I work long shifts so struggle to go on working days but I’m doing my best.

Your fasting period is hardcore, very impressive!

How are you finding it?

Doyouthinktheyknow · 04/04/2025 19:46

Lovely to see so many new faces♥️
Lets hope we all finish the month a bit lighter and fitter💪

Sounds sensible to delay your weigh in @ThisUniqueDreamer, I made the mistake of getting on the scales after returning from a mini holiday and the scales were not kind! I knew from my clothes I hadn’t gained but it still dented my confidence! We’re in it for the long haul and it’s a bumpy road, that’s what I keep telling myself!

I am finding it hard in the evenings as I feel hungry sometimes but I just drink water go to bed earlier , I keep on imagining looking bomb and fitting in size medium which is helpful 😂, but yh I have a SEN child and am a housewife but other than walking I don't have that much excersise, ur excersise routine is impressive

Sighthoundsforever · 05/04/2025 01:27

Hi there. Could I please join too. Well done everyone on your journeys. I had a good January, February and first half of March and lost a stone and a half. Now it’s slowly going to pot. Today I had 4, yes 4 bags of crisps. They are my downfall. I used to give myself the treat of 1 pack per day and need to get back to that. Reading all your messages is giving me great motivation. I think if I do it slowly and steady it will be more achievable. Enjoy the weekend everyone
