April, nice and easy 4 pounds.

Anyone fancy joining us for a goal to loose 4lb in April?
A few of us have found that no matter what the end goal is that breaking this down into smaller 4lb monthly chunks is much more manageable (and less scary).

We all had different ways to reach our goal and different end goals.

Anyone interested in focusing on 4 lbs?

Welcome @WeAreBorg, I work in kilos too!
The inexorable gain has continued. I've put on slight amounts since Tuesday and overall now .6kg heavier. I've been following my usual plan (calorie deficit, walk, gym) so I'm trying to keep the faith. I have been doing quite well...better than I have in ages.

Goandygo · 11/04/2025 17:16

Hi, everyone!
Will take me some time to catch up on posts ❤️
The March thread was great for me.
Lost 6lbs, but I've been so busy this month so far ( looking after a relatives dog, working extra hours - though that's been ok - I'm a cleaner, so really burnt those calories).
I've put 2lb back on ( bloody Mother's Day), but I'm still trying 🥴

Nice to see you @Goandygo !

Slight loss today. Hope it continues after a week of gains.
I've been so busy this week renovating a bedroom which was like something from a hoarder's show...have to finish it today. That should keep me busy!

Ameliepoulainandthephotobooth · 13/04/2025 17:17

Well done @YourOnMute ! Well done on the hard work too! My whole house looks like a hoarders dream!

Keep going @Goandygo, that 2lb probably isn’t real gain, it’ll come off again quickly I’m sure.

Well done @YourOnMute, good work on both fronts!

I have missed a gym visit today due to an extra long ‘long day’ shift at work😩 but I will be back there tomorrow and my diet has been okay so hoping the scales will continue to shift in the right direction!

Ameliepoulainandthephotobooth · 13/04/2025 20:43

I had a bit of a big weekend and haven’t been weighing daily so it will be interesting to see what happens tomorrow.
On Friday I was 121.5 (a loss of 3.5lbs on the Monday) but I bet I’m not tomorrow!

Yes, I would like to join this. I have put on about 13 pounds over the past few months and I would like to try this out. May I join you? I just joined this site today and I am Maria in the USA. 😃

MariaUSA · 13/04/2025 22:17

I just joined today and I have had no response from anyone to any posts (4) that I have posted. Is anyone reading them? Thanks, Maria

Ameliepoulainandthephotobooth · 14/04/2025 06:57

Hi @MariaUSA, sorry, most of mumsnet is uk based (not all) so I think a lot of posters have been tucked up in bed.

No change for me this week!

Hello @MariaUSA and welcome.
I finished the room last night and got a takeaway. Up .4 kg but hope I will continue down after continuing increases last week.
In the office so brought in lunch and little stroll. Gym tonight

unicornsaremagical · 14/04/2025 14:58

Hi everyone, hope it’s ok to join. I started my journey in january on mounjaro and lost 42lbs, i have 10lbs left to lose naturally now (after stopping) and feel this way sounds easier and less mentally exhausting.

EastCoastDweller · 14/04/2025 16:56

A bit late but would like to join. I’ve been dithering in case it set off my inner rebel and I end up putting weight on. I started a low carb/sugar programme (refuse to call it a diet) a couple of days ago as a friend has had a huge success with this. Not sure I will manage 4lbs but am hoping for a good loss.

MariaUSA · 14/04/2025 19:23

Hello East Coast Dweller...I, too, am new...joined yesterday. I am looking forward to meeting everyone and losing a few pounds, too! Maria in SC, USA.

Ameliepoulainandthephotobooth · 14/04/2025 19:24

I must have misread my scales this morning! I’m 2.5lb down this week so 4.5 this month in total!

@YourOnMute enjoy the gym!

@unicornsaremagical wow, that’s amazing. How are you finding it now?

@EastCoastDweller Sounds like a good plan!

Hello Amelie....Sorry I forgot about the time difference...It sounds like you are doing fantastic! Maria in USA

MariaUSA · 14/04/2025 19:31

Hello to Your On Mute...sounds like you have a wonderful plan for the day...that .4 could be just muscle weight added. Wishing you a wonderful day! Maria in USA

MariaUSA · 14/04/2025 19:33

Hello Unicorn...wow, congrats to you on your progress! You are almost at your goal! 42 pounds since January is quite commendable!!! Maria in USA

YourOnMute · 15/04/2025 10:47

Well done @Ameliepoulainandthephotobooth .
And to you @unicornsaremagical .

I exercise a lot so I doubt it was muscle, just greedy piggies after spending the weekend sorting out the bedroom, which wasn't easy... I enjoyed it.
Haven't compared my weight yet today but I am off on a little break tomorrow! To Spain.

unicornsaremagical · 15/04/2025 10:56

@Ameliepoulainandthephotobooth its definitely slower than when i was on mounjaro. But in the last week ive lost 2lbs without, i feel like its a good way to naturally adjust my eating habits etc without the jabs. @YourOnMute i also exercise a lot and find after an extra hard work out i sometimes gain for a few days then it drops off again with extra it could be an inflammatory reaction.

YourOnMute · 15/04/2025 11:53

Yes @unicornsaremagical if I don't train, I lose weight. Holidays I lose weight.
I was losing slowly the last few weeks, (but last week appeared out of the blue with slight gains every day) so would like to keep that up. I'm not happy with my bodyweight.

Gingerwarthog · 15/04/2025 14:12

It’s a nightmare @WeAreBorg
i run, swim, dog walk and eat (fairly) healthily. I rarely drink alcohol these days either but all the things that worked in my 40s are no longer ensuring I stay at a good weight.

It’s just so baffling. And my comeuppance for a lifetime of finding it easy to stay slim haha

I’m actually just hoping I don’t put on weight in April, realised it’s been a pound a month gain so no loss is a win (I think)

Ameliepoulainandthephotobooth · 15/04/2025 20:23

I never appreciated being naturally skinny until I put on over 3 stone due to medication.

@YourOnMute enjoy your holiday!

@unicornsaremagical that must feel really good.

Gingerwarthog · 16/04/2025 07:17

@WeAreBorg
I am going to try to up the running and eat less carbs but it isn’t easy. I used to be able to eat more or less what I wanted as long as I exercised. Not any more. I’ve been told doing weights is good too but I have a family, full-time (demanding) job, dog and am doing additional studies so don’t know how I can fit any more in. Still have energy but not quite as much as when I was younger.
