March, nice and easy 4 pounds.

Last year a few of us decided to aim for smaller amounts of weight loss and found the four pound goal much more manageable than a bigger goal. We did a couple of months focusing on just four pounds at a time.

We all had different ways to reach our goal and different end goals.

I’m aiming to start again after having to have a (forced) break.

Anyone interested in focusing on 4 lbs?

I would love to join. I did well this time last year and lost about a stone in weight. I have managed to keep this off but would like to tone up a bit and maybe lose 3 or 4 pounds this year. I find the spring is the easiest time for me to lose weight.

I am missing a bit of motivation so hopefully this thread will help with that!

Ameliepoulainandthephotobooth · 23/02/2025 16:33

@ProgressIguess amazing! Well done on keeping it off!

I have had lots of health issues and the medication made me so hungry!

I’m off of it and waiting for the hunger to fade.

In the past I did one meal a day which was really effective and also low carb but I’m not sure if I can commit to anything like that right now so I’m exploring what to try!

I also couldn’t exercise so I’m going to start gently with getting my steps in and some Pilates and yoga.

My total goal is 12 lbs but breaking it into smaller chunks seems more doable!

I'll join! I started on Monday trying to lose 7lb as none of my jeans fit me anymore! By the time that March comes around, I may only have 4lb to go. I've lost 1.5 pounds this week by eating between 12 and 1400 calories per day and I've started exercising again (easing myself back in gently with that!)

coco111 · 23/02/2025 21:38

I'll join! I've been 12 stone 6 for the past year even though I've been trying! I was 11 stone less then 2 years ago but had a baby and now really struggling to lose it. Would love to lose 4lbs in March.

Ameliepoulainandthephotobooth · 24/02/2025 06:28

Welcome more people!

@Pitstop1986 well done on your loss! My scale is sadly going up still so think I might have to get tough in March!

@coco111 congratulations on your baby.

@coco111 how old is your baby? How are you getting on with motherhood?

maria2bela1 · 24/02/2025 13:50

Love to join. Had 3 babies and cannot shift the weight these days. Currently 10 months PP. I'd love to get 4lbs off!

She is 15 months. She's actually my third baby. found it pretty easy shifting the baby weight the first two times but it is a whole different story third time round just struggling to lose anything. I am still breastfeeding so I don't know whether that is playing a part in just holding onto the fat. It's tough though and summer just seems to be creeping in and I don't want to feel uncomfortable all so I really need to try.

Ameliepoulainandthephotobooth · 25/02/2025 08:51

My youngest is 20 😂 mines medication induced.

I’ve reintroduced gentle exercise but even 20 minutes of Pilates yesterday was too much apparently. Grrr! So I’m going to have to rely on fixing my diet rather than movement for the time being.

I am in! Thank you for the thread.

I got on the scales at the end of Jan and I was 11.9 which is my heaviest. I’m quite short so this is not great. I will weigh in today or tomorrow.

I’ve massively upped my exercise in Feb after the physio prescribed it. I called it ‘Fit February’ in my head 😂. Really pleased with how it ‘s gone for my fitness but it does not seem to have made any difference at all to my size. In fact I struggled even more to get into a pair of trousers yesterday. WTF?!

So, it’s got to be food that changes my actual weight. Will do TRE and am considering good old calorie counting. I think I will try to take a leaf out of @Pitstop1986 ‘s book and go for the 12-14000 calories a day. I may ask for menu ideas if that is OK?

I’m trying to think of a snappy title for this month. 😀 it’s daft, but I found that it helps. March Madness? Motivated March? Or Four Pounds in Four Weeks?

Pitstop1986 · 28/02/2025 18:43

4 for 4... 4 pounds in 4 weeks!

I've dropped just under 2 lb since last Monday, so another 4lb during March would be amazing!

@AMouseWithValour I tend to have either a homemade almond milk latte, small portion of overnight oats or 2 egg omlette for breakfast, home made crustless Quiche, salad or a sandwich for lunch, then dinner is just a sensible portion of something cooked from scratch with lots of added veg- bolognese, curry, traybake, stir fry, etc. Then I usually have 200 calories or so for an evening treat, so i have a bar of chocolate, a couple of biscuits, a glass of wine, etc and then if I'm still hungry, I eat a peice of fruit.

Good luck ladies! Let's get those scales moving!

AMouseWithValour · 28/02/2025 20:25

Thank you @Pitstop1986. That’s really helpful.

i have bought a new battery for the scales and reawakened MyFitnessPal ready for tomorrow.

But tonight I may have a glass of wine!

Pitstop1986 · 01/03/2025 10:37

Managed to make a 200 calorie bacon sandwich this morning! I used a sandwich thin instead of bread and 2 slices of bacon was 126 calories, but I cut the fat off, so i reckon that comfortably got it to below the 200 calorie mark. Added an almond milk latte to make a 300 calorie breakfast.

Planning on making a soup today, so that's low calorie lunches for the next few days.

How's everyone's motivation today?

AMouseWithValour · 01/03/2025 11:12

So 11.9 on the scales this am. I’m not thrilled.

I presume the exercise I have been doing has turned some far into muscle, but I may be kidding myself!

Still, I’ve had an omelette for brunch and am resisting the really nice scone that is sitting on the side

Ameliepoulainandthephotobooth · 01/03/2025 12:06

1st March and I’m 130 lbs which is a lot for me… but the sun is shining and I’m going to go for a gentle walk later.

OP posts:
Pitstop1986 · 01/03/2025 20:24

I've done well today, ate about 1400 calories (which i managed to get to despite having a glass of wine this evening)

My husband has the flu and has spent the day in bed, I got him to watch the kids for 45 minutesas i told him that i needed a break from them and took myself off for a workout. I have some 2kg and 4kg dumbbells and followed a YouTube workout and I'm feeling the muscle aches already. I'm dreading tomorrow!

Ameliepoulainandthephotobooth · 02/03/2025 08:34

@Pitstop1986 well done! How are you feeling?

I managed to stop at 1434 calories but it was very unhealthy! Some of that was wine!
My walk was very short as I hurt but I’ll try again today.

OP posts:
Pitstop1986 · 02/03/2025 08:58

@Ameliepoulainandthephotobooth good job! It's ok if some was unhealthy, you can build in healthy habits as the month goes on. Maybe do a bit of meal prep and have some salads or soup ready to go in the fridge?

I had a glass of wine, as I always do on a Saturday night. One glass is about 150 calories, so easy to squeeze it into your calories

How did everyone else get on with day 1?

Ameliepoulainandthephotobooth · 02/03/2025 10:29

I think that you are right, meal prep is definitely the way forward. I rarely drink now so I’m not going to be too hard on myself for having two glasses of wine.

I managed twenty minutes on the treadmill which is nothing compared to what I used to do but it’s a start. I’ll aim for another twenty later although might venture outside.

Tonight’s dinner will be homemade fish fingers, potatoes and some greens.

Ameliepoulainandthephotobooth · 03/03/2025 18:25

Yesterday ended at 1365 which I happy with.

Today I managed a short walk and should be under 1400 calories.

A few days late but can I join? Lost a stone and a half around this time last year with 16:8 but it has slowly crept back on… planning to start 16:8 again and up exercise, hoping this thread will help with motivation! Well done to you all so far!

Ameliepoulainandthephotobooth · 04/03/2025 18:45

@Bibliophage, welcome! Well done!

I’m in

Doyouthinktheyknow · 04/03/2025 18:52

Hope you don’t mind if I join, I’m late but I’m already doing 16:8 and I’ve lost 9lbs since I started toward the end of January.

I’ve just joined a gym too and have started swimming regularly. I’m 50 and was the heaviest I’ve ever been at 13 stone 1lb so it’s slow but I’m determined to get back to a healthy weight! I’m menopausal so weight loss isn’t easy but I’m really trying!

I used to think anything over 11 stone was too heavy and now I dream of being 11 stone🤣
