March, nice and easy 4 pounds.

Last year a few of us decided to aim for smaller amounts of weight loss and found the four pound goal much more manageable than a bigger goal. We did a couple of months focusing on just four pounds at a time.

We all had different ways to reach our goal and different end goals.

I’m aiming to start again after having to have a (forced) break.

Anyone interested in focusing on 4 lbs?

@Doyouthinktheyknow that's brilliant, well done.
My days of the gym are over unfortunately but it occurred to me this morning that nothing is stopping me from walking before work.
And, I'm going to really try these next 5 days, so Saturday weigh in is rewarding.

Keep going, everyone ❤️

Goandygo · 10/03/2025 09:38

@Doyouthinktheyknow we have the same amount to lose. Your present weight is my target, but it's so long since I was 12st 7 even. I look so trim and good at that weight.
A loss of a pound a week would take us to roundabout July, I think 🤔
I have a long awaited walking holiday in August and to be 12st 7 or lower is my goal.

Doyouthinktheyknow · 10/03/2025 11:52

@Goandygo You’re absolutely right, I’m hoping I’ll hit my target by my birthday at the end of July.

It’s so good to have a goal to work toward and a walking holiday is a fabulous goal.

Definitely think slow and steady is the way forward. Walking is excellent exercise, gentle on the joints and now spring is definitely on it’s way, it’s more enjoyable😎

@Doyouthinktheyknow well done!

How are we all doing ?
We're at the top of the mountain 🤣.
I'm having a really good week, much better than last week when I wasn't strict enough really.

I've only had 1 diet coke, not many treats, and I've been getting used to brunch and tea, so just 2 meals a day. I don't need 3 anyway.

Doyouthinktheyknow · 12/03/2025 12:09

Well done @Goandygo, sounds like great progress. Feeling positive is half the battle isn’t it?

I’ve been to the gym every day. Only a swim after work yesterday but it’s creating new habits which is what I’m intending. I’ve stuck to my fasting times so feeling okay about things.

No gym for me the next couple of days because I’m working back to back shifts but I’ll be back Saturday morning.

Goandygo · 12/03/2025 13:30

@Doyouthinktheyknow you sound very much in control, well done.
That's actually what I like about eating properly - feeling in control. And yes, a positive mindset is most of the battle.

Ameliepoulainandthephotobooth · 12/03/2025 22:07

You are both doing amazingly.

I do feel that this week has been much better. I’m more motivated and I’m not as hungry.

I’m awake at the moment and making good choices while enjoying the food.
I’m not going to be weighing this week so will be interesting to see what happens when I’m back.

Hi all! It sounds like we're all doing amazingly well! @Doyouthinktheyknow well done making the effort to go to the gym!

I've been calorie counting and doing between 1100 and 1500 per day, although went out for a meal on Monday and had starter and a main (no dessert though!) so my calories were probably much higher that day. I didn't even try to estimate the calories, I just tried to enjoy myself.

Weighed in this morning 1 1/4 pound down, added to the 3/4 pound from last week puts me at a total loss of 2 pounds, so I'm bang on track for 4 pounds by the end of the month

Goandygo · 14/03/2025 12:29

@Pitstop1986 well done for being on track.
Also well done for not being a slave to it and enjoying your meal out.
I've been an angel all week. I've enjoyed some new recipes and I've walked more.
We're eating out for tea. It will either be Nandos or Pizza Hut, but like you, I'll enjoy it.

Ameliepoulainandthephotobooth · 14/03/2025 17:29

Just realised that in my tired state I said that I was awake. I meant away 😂 mostly eating well and walking lots.

Knew you meant away !
Great that you're eating well and walking lots. Not easy when you're away ( or even awake 🤣).

Goandygo · 15/03/2025 08:41

Morning, all.
2lb off this week so 3lb in total.
13st 9.
2 more weigh ins til end of March so I'm on track. (Believe me, I need that 'safety cushion ').
I'm actually enjoying my healthy eating and it's great to check in here.
Hope you're all doing OK ?

Doyouthinktheyknow · 15/03/2025 10:52

Well done everyone for staying on track and losing steadily, excellent work. Really does feel good doesn’t it?😍 It’s lovely to check in here and to be able to share this journey♥️

I normally weigh Monday but I’m off to Venice stupidly early Monday so weighed in this morning before my night shift tonight and I’m another 1lb down which is fab. Slow and steady.

I’m going to aim to stick to my fasting periods while I’m away and we will be walking loads so I’m hoping I can continue steady loss!

Been at the gym again this morning so that’s 4 times this week. Won’t be as regular next week because I’m away for 3 nights but I’ve got a few classes for booked when I return so I’m determined to keep up the momentum.

I definitely feel better mentally and physically which is what it’s all about!

Goandygo · 17/03/2025 11:05

Does anyone weigh daily?
I used to hate the scales, but since weighing daily, it no longer bothers me.
Yesterday I had a fried breakfast, a piece of carrot cake and 6 large glasses of wine. Nothing else.
Today I'm 2lbs lighter.
Obviously, not healthy yesterday and I won't be doing that again, but if I hadn't have weighed myself today, I'd probably be feeling bad about myself.
As it is, I'm going to keep trying.

Ameliepoulainandthephotobooth · 19/03/2025 16:33

@Goandygo I do. I use happy scale. I like that I can see trends and that I might go up and down slightly but that there’s a downward trend.

I haven’t weighed in a week but will check in on Friday.

Ameliepoulainandthephotobooth · 21/03/2025 06:52

One pound down.

So 3lb in total for the month which isn’t too awful considering I ate lots of cheese and drank lots of wine while away!

Doyouthinktheyknow · 21/03/2025 07:08

Well done @Ameliepoulainandthephotobooth, good work.

Goandygo · 21/03/2025 08:32

@Ameliepoulainandthephotobooth well done. That's good considering you were away.

Ameliepoulainandthephotobooth · 21/03/2025 10:20

Thank you. I think next month I’ll try for again for 4lbs!
My appetite has definitely improved (as in I’m not eating every thing in sight).

OP posts:
Goandygo · 22/03/2025 04:51

(Early !) Morning to you all.
I can't sleep so I've weighed myself.
13st 8, so a loss of 4lb, with one last weigh in to go.
I'm pleased with this. I've had a few self doubt moments but overall, a good week.

I think deep down I want it to come off quicker yet I know I'm being realistic with this approach and 1lb a week will soon mount up.
I haven't gone hungry either, so all good.

Have a great weekend everyone. I'm busy with grandchildren at 2 family events - it's good that I'm in charge as it means I won't be drinking wine or sitting round a table with my sisters mindlessly eating cheese 🤣😇

Doyouthinktheyknow · 22/03/2025 07:23

Well done @Goandygo, that’s awesome👏
I think slowly is the way to go, I’ve lost weight more rapidly before but I’ve never kept it off!

I stuck to my fasting this week but we did spend 4 days in Venice with lots of beautiful pasta so I’m keeping everything crossed I’ve lost another pound but we’ll see.

My jeans are easier to do up so I think I’m losing girth anyway.

Spinning taster class at the gym for me this morning followed by a swim🤩

Ameliepoulainandthephotobooth · 22/03/2025 10:56

@Goandygo well done! That’s what I like about 4lb goal for a month, it seems much more manageable and realistic.

@Doyouthinktheyknow amazing! What method of fasting are you doing?

OP posts:
Doyouthinktheyknow · 22/03/2025 11:16

@Ameliepoulainandthephotobooth I’m doing something between 16/8 and 18/6 intermittent fasting depending on how I feel and what time I eat my evening meal. I’ve cut out snacking which was always my downfall.

I never really ate breakfast anyway, maybe a couple of biscuits🫣 so I don’t notice it that much.

I feel so much better for it. I stick to the fasts religiously, black coffee, fruit tea. Gave up milk. I’m trying to cut out sweeteners in coffee, think I’m finally getting there. Was having a few granules but nothing for the last week.

Years ago I lost 2 stone doing 5:2 fasting but I can’t do 24 hour fasts these days so intermittent fasting works better and my mindset is that this is for life.

Ameliepoulainandthephotobooth · 22/03/2025 16:44

I used to really like fasting (weirdo) just so much easier!
