Last year a few of us decided to aim for smaller amounts of weight loss and found the four pound goal much more manageable than a bigger goal. We did a couple of months focusing on just four pounds at a time.

We all had different ways to reach our goal and different end goals.

I’m aiming to start again after having to have a (forced) break.

Anyone interested in focusing on 4 lbs?

Trying this slow method too.

Porridge w berries seeds cinnamon for breakfast. Black coffee. Water.

Lunch is a simple sandwich plus miso soup, a few radishes, apple, fruit bar. A few nuts or a plain yoghurt. That actually adds up (can get to 700cal plus( so I have to be careful!

Dinner -same as usual just no carbs, extra veg. Dark chocolate. No booze.

Main thing is no snacks. I really miss crisps! But it's working

I'd like to join too :) have had a number of health issues and want to be physically as well as I can be. Want to make sustainable changes, so whilst it might take longer, it should be more effective. This week am focusing on walking 10,000 steps each day, keeping under 1500 calories and drinking lots of water. Then in a couple of weeks want to start Couch to 5k.

Today I've had
B: x3 boiled eggs and half an avocado (344 calories)
L: Tuna salad (355 calories)
D: Salmon and roasted veg (500 calories)
S: fruit

Am aiming to eat lots of veg, wholefoods and protein.
Now going to watch Bergarac on the telly whilst walking on my treadmill :)

thrifty24 · 04/03/2025 19:03

I will join too! Holiday early May so having a goal is making me more motivated. I was very good at walking for an hour every lunch time until January and I've really noticed some creep around my tummy and hips from not doing this. I need to get better at nutrition, I'm not a terrible eater but I have been slipping into bad habits.

Pitstop1986 · 04/03/2025 20:27

I've had a rough couple of days, and March has only just started! My calorie count was about 2000 yesterday and I've just ended tonight with 4 biscuits and a crunchie!

I've just felt drained- i went to bed at 7.30pm last night- and just need a sugar hit. I don't usually have caffeine after 12 so instead of opting for a coffee, I went for the chocolate coated almonds instead!

I've meal prepped for tomorrow, so hopefully will get back on track then and the last 2 days haven't set me back too much

Ameliepoulainandthephotobooth · 05/03/2025 08:25

Excellent to see more people!
My day wasn’t too awful yesterday. I naturally fall into a 16:8 way of eating but would like to decrease the eating window again. I might try for 18:6 next week.

I’m a daily weigher (happy scale) but I’m going to do my main check in on Friday. So far so good although tracking daily means that you see every little loss and every little gain.

@Pitstop1986 one bad day is ok. Chocolate covered almonds sounds lovely!

Well, it was 2 bad days, but I'm back on form today! 1100 calories eaten today. It's been pretty easy as I've been at work and busy.

Got breakfast and lunch prepped for tomorrow and just have to worry about dinner tomorrow night

I weighed myself this morning and I had gained a pound since Sunday! Hoping that it's just water and food weight and it'll shift without much effort

Ameliepoulainandthephotobooth · 05/03/2025 20:59

I finished on 1388.

Lunch wasn’t great (marmite sandwich)
Dinner was piri piri halloumi and rice.

I've had another good day today and even managed a 15 minute incline walk on the treadmill

How's everyone else getting on?

@Ameliepoulainandthephotobooth did you say that you are doing a main weigh in tomorrow? Should we all do a weekly Friday weigh in tomorrow track our progress?

TheFirstTimeEverISawYourFace · 07/03/2025 06:56

I'lll join!
Have been low carbing.
Down 2lbs this week but have 42 to lose.

I made it to the gym this week on Weds for a PT session and now have terrible DOMS.

Will aim for more exercise at the weekend.

Goandygo · 07/03/2025 07:09

I'll join @Ameliepoulainandthephotobooth and thanks for the thread.

I started Saturday, 1st March ( 13st 12 ).
I naturally eat 16 : 8, too.
I'm not a snacker, eat quite healthily but finding it harder as i get older ( late 50s).
I can't exercise much either as my knee is sore 🥴.

I think I'll have lost a pound this week but it's a start.
Gone are the days when it came off quicker.

Have a great day, and remember slow n steady wins the race.

Goandygo · 07/03/2025 07:13

@TheFirstTimeEverISawYourFace well done on the 2lb loss. That's great.

At least the weather is getting better so we can get up n out.
I swear I hibernated in Jan and Feb.

Ameliepoulainandthephotobooth · 07/03/2025 07:26

@Pitstop1986 I’m going to weigh today, completely up to others what they do (I know for some Friday is a bad day!). I’m just waking up 😂

@TheFirstTimeEverISawYourFace well done! I do like low carbing.

@Goandygo I have definitely been hibernating!

Just over 2lbs loss! I’m quite surprised!

That’s definitely given me motivation to try harder!

Goandygo · 07/03/2025 07:42

@Ameliepoulainandthephotobooth that's brilliant, well done!

I think I need to try low carbing. I tried keto once but I just felt sick all the time, and life's too short to be miserable.

Definitely the sunshine has given me a spring in my step! ☀️☀️☀️

Ameliepoulainandthephotobooth · 07/03/2025 08:26

Thanks @Goandygo. When I tried low carb previously I remember being ravenous for a few days but the results were quick and good.
I think that I would find it quite hard at the moment unless I can get Dh on board as I’m supporting him in eating better (he was a full on junk monster). I think low carb would be a bit too much for him.

Pitstop1986 · 07/03/2025 09:36

@Ameliepoulainandthephotobooth that's amazing! Well done!

I'm down 3/4 pound, which isn't too bad considering that I fell off the wagon for 2 days.

Ameliepoulainandthephotobooth · 08/03/2025 07:53

Well done to you too @Pitstop1986 ! And thank you!

I’m waiting for a new dress to arrive but although it will fit it’s going to need less belly to look really nice so that’s my motivation.

Goandygo · 08/03/2025 10:57

Morning!
One pound off, as predicted.
I've tried hard this week and I'm actually OK with a pound a week.

Ameliepoulainandthephotobooth · 09/03/2025 09:23

@Goandygo well done! A pound a week is what I’m aiming for, no rush and I think more likely to keep it off and to keep it up!

I’ve got 12lbs in total to my ‘goal’ but prefer to break it down rather than focusing on the whole 12lbs. I don’t want to beat myself up if I don’t achieve it quickly. I’ve definitely been guilty of rushing it before and sabotaging my weight loss. I’m not actually overweight, I’m just not happy with my weight gain.

OP posts:
Doyouthinktheyknow · 09/03/2025 13:48

I’ve got 20lb’s to reach my goal but I’m taking it a 1lb at a time too!

I’ll still be at the top end of a healthy bmi when I hit my target weight but it needs to be a sustainable weight for me!

Weigh in tomorrow for me!

Just watched my niece and nephew run a half marathon♥️

I used to run loads a did a marathon until I buggered up my knees and then the weight piled on! Miss running so much but I just can’t risk it!

Well done everyone losing, hopefully I’ll have lost something tomorrow ♥️

Bibliophage · 10/03/2025 06:28

Checking in! My scales were broken and wouldn’t turn on so had to get a new set, so my starting weight is as of this morning… but I’ve been already been doing a few days of 16:8, walking more and adding some low impact strength training YouTube workouts, and feeling good… I definitely think the sunshine has helped!

Ameliepoulainandthephotobooth · 10/03/2025 07:30

I agree, the sunshine is such great motivation!

I overdid it exercise wise over the weekend, it’s really frustrating. My body and brain aren’t communicating well!

OP posts:
Doyouthinktheyknow · 10/03/2025 08:05

Another pound down, 12 stone 5lbs, probably the lowest I’ve been for a couple of years.

Off to the gym today, hopefully 4 times this week.

I like this slow and steady approach, definitely feels more sustainable.

The sunshine is wonderful😎
