Human Being Diet Reset 2025 - HBD Reset 2025

I’ve had a lot of success with HBD but have really gone off the rails with a holiday and then Christmas. I’m planning to start a reset on 7th Jan - anyone else planning the same? X

I've ordered a bed tray! I really miss my black coffee in bed first thing (see also: bowels) so am going to try eating at the same time (in bed).

I'm also missing hot drinks through the day although luckily I never had caffeine during the day.

(today has been a bit hard I think!).

yes I was reading about the cascara compound!

I don't fully understand about fruit - you're allowed 100g of fruit after a meal are you? (I didn't see this before, and can't really make sense of the book on this).

I couldn't find fish stock in waitrose today so will have to use (shock, horror) a stock pot thingie. I made the salmon parcel for lunch out of the recipe book and it was very tasty!

Fruit in p3 and you can add 100g to a meal but no mixing fruit -

HelenHywater · 13/01/2025 20:29

But not P2? It says in the list in the P2 section that you are allowed 100g.

I find it confusing too.

HelenHywater · 13/01/2025 20:43

My googling seems to suggest that you are allowed it in P2, but not mixing your fruits and only 100g.

Justhere65 · 14/01/2025 07:03

Not to be to indelicate but Im not sure how Im going to lose much weight if Im not going to the loo?

HelenHywater · 14/01/2025 07:47

You won't (and neither will I!). She even says that in her book, that weight loss will stall if you're constipated. And I weighed myself and in fact my weight is higher today!

I'm in the same position. I took 4 magnesium citrate capsules yesterday! Donna Ida (who appears to be a celebrity fan) says that she takes magnesium after breakfast and dinner in order to speed things along. I will also look at cascara I think.

She also says though that your body will adjust - it's the lack of gluten (or dairy, I forget) which is causing it and as your body adjusts your digestion will get back to normal. So maybe we just need to trust the process a bit?

I have a problem in that I have a reversed stomach so am going to continue but take Senna and hopefully that will help!

girluwant2 · 15/01/2025 16:13

So I’m not having any bowl problems but I’m missing my bacon… if I get traditional bacon made without nitrates/nitrites and just pork and water and salt, does that fit within the rules do you think??

I’m looking forward to P3. I have 7 more days to go!

Fluffywithteeth · 16/01/2025 07:30

Yes me too @Justhere65 !

How’s everyone getting on?

I don’t naturally eat 3 meals a day so forcing myself to eat sometimes gets overwhelming… I never feel hungry.
However, I’m totally committed to this no matter how hard it feels for whatever reasons… and I’m looking forward to P3 which starts on Wednesday for me 🥰

Oh that’s great - you’re nearly there!! Yes I was the same. Hadn’t eaten breakfast in about 20 years. Often did have proper meals but grazed. Ate at random times …. Someone told me that feeling hungry in the morning is a sign of metabolic health…. Who knows!! X

I always have breakfast and am missing my porridge and yoghurt with granola. I also find cooking without olive oil hard (probably why I am overweight)! I start P3 next Thursday so looking forward to that.
This diet is so good for me, tough at times but I am sticking with it as it is working. I struggle to lose any weight now I am in my 60s so am thrilled I have lost 6lbs!

Justhere65 · 16/01/2025 09:58

Senna tablets have worked for me.

HelenHywater · 16/01/2025 11:01

I've had to start P2 again - did so many things wrong and then went completely mad yesterday.

I'm sticking to the rules this time.

I also don't eat breakfast usually so this is new to me. My morning black coffees in bed (2 of them) are a ritual I don't want to give up. So I brought up some eggs and avocado with them this morning ! I read that Petronella ordinarily only has 2 black coffees for breakfast and then fasts until 1.30 - this is my normal(ish) pattern (with snacking).

I have a question: The apple triggers my IBS - is there anything about this in the book or elsewhere? (It also triggers my raging sweet tooth too, so I'd be better leaving it alone really - does the book say anything about what to do in this case? )

I find that apple skin gives me problems so I peel them and sometimes stew them for a few minutes with cinnamon as she suggests. This is lovely. You can also microwave them with a few drops of water.

How is everyone doing? Any tips or thoughts? I discovered Jemimas.table on Instagram. She posts lovely HBD recipes.

They’re great aren’t they… although I am usually in such a rush I stick to the basics . All going ok although am really looking forward to P3 on Thursday! Now I feel a it sorry I didn’t weigh at the beginning although jeans are fitting / fitting better! I am a bit hungrier now though. I found this 2nd weekend the hardest first time around as well . How about you? X

I’ve stuck to the basics mostly too but have got a little bored. I find it hard cooking without several glugs of olive oil! I start P3 on Thursday too so looking forward to it. I also feel a little slimmer which has inspired me to carry on. I can’t believe how good I’ve been!

Fluffywithteeth · 18/01/2025 18:08

Have you got any favorite basics?
for breakfast mine are egg frittata which I do 3 - 4 portions of in the oven or cherries and walnuts with some ginger, cinnamon and rosemary
lunch my absolute favourite (partly because it feels like a properly big satisfying meal) is smoked mackerel salad with the apple chopped into it as well with avocado and acv dressing
dinner soup with 160g chickpeas or chicken and steamed veg ….

OP posts:
HelenHywater · 18/01/2025 19:36

I didn't know smoked mackerel was allowed!

I like the burger with the portobello mushroom. Or the chicken ginger stir fry. I've bought a spiraliser so I can try the salmon and courgetti.

Quite often I have smoked salmon with broccoli/asparagus/avocado for breakfast.

I had to re-start because of a blow out on Wednesday and have decided not to weigh myself daily this time.

Justhere65 · 18/01/2025 20:25

As I discovered we are allowed yoghurt, I had 2 spoonfuls with blueberries this morning but have also been having smoked salmon which I love. I don’t eat meat so have struggled a little with dinner. The aubergine curry is very good though.
The mackerel salad sounds lovely so will be making that next week.

girluwant2 · 19/01/2025 08:27

I weighed myself (had to buy scales!) and I don’t want to weigh myself again until the morning of P3, but on Friday I wore jeans that I haven’t been able to wear for over a year, and people are commenting that there’s something different about me… I see a brightness in me that was duller before. 🤩

I am learning what my body wants though.. e.g. doesn’t like too much chicken and prefers it roasted.
I’ve always been a red meat/game and eggs girl and that isn’t changing 😂.

wishing you all good HBD today xx
