weightwatchingwaterwitch · 11/01/2005 14:23

Puddle, I like those marmite flavoured rice cakes too. Am eating one now. Today so far:

1 piece wholemeal toast, scrape olive spread and marmite
50g smoked salmon, handful of capers, 2 tomatoes, a small apple, 2 mini boxes of raisins, 1 sesame snap (50 cals, others in packet), 3 rice cakes @ 31 cals each.
Tuna and veg for supper, may have some apple/banana this afternoon. Day 7 of no booze. I do find it's helping to be obsessed like this, thanks for listening everyone!

Puddle, yes it is but I don't like brown rice anyway so can easily forgo it. And I love bread with lots of butter so for me, it's easiest to buy bread I don't like that much (Asda organic wholemeal sliced) and only have 1 piece. I can resist bread that way. If we had a lovely soft fluffy newly baked organic white loaf and a slab of cold butter in the house (see how I'm fantasising?) I'd be in biiiiigg trouble. And even bigger skirts.

tentunturq · 11/01/2005 14:29

What are we counting about?
I eat the odd slice of bread, try and avoid pasta and rice (family won't eat brown rice, can't be bothered to do seperate for me) have the odd spud.
Do bagels count as bread?

weightwatchingwaterwitch · 11/01/2005 14:30

I reckon bagels count as bread. I wouldn't worry, it's calories that count surely? Cod?

iota · 11/01/2005 14:31

puddle - according to my GI booklet Rice (brown, short-grain and white) is high GI, basmati and wild rice and cous cous are medium GI and Bulgar wheat is low GI .
The GI rating is affected ny the level of proceesing of teh carbs somhow

puddle · 11/01/2005 14:34

Sorry - don't understand GI at all Iota - can you enlighten me if you have a minute?

weightwatchingwaterwitch · 11/01/2005 14:34

My bump was as big as one of those 39 weeks with twins babies on that belly gallery! She was 9lb 8oz though and some of it was lard and is still there

weightwatchingwaterwitch · 11/01/2005 14:34

Sorry, wrong thread!

iota · 11/01/2005 14:34

according to the GI booklet:
Bagels are v bad - high GI,
granary is medium GI and, wait for it
