Wanting to lose close to 10kg in time for Christmas

MangoLove · 12/09/2024 13:24

Hi, Looking for anyone that would like to join for support

Height: 5'3
CW: 87.7kg
Christmas GW: 80kg

So, I know 80kg is still high in BMI - but this will be a huge achievement for me and my body shape. I'm pretty fed up of not feeling comfortable in my clothes when seeing so many family and friends over the festive period. A bit shallow - but I want to look better!

Plan

  1. Intermittent Fasting - keeping my eating window between 1-7pm
  2. 15k steps a day - a morning walk and then walking in front of the TV after the kids have gone to bed.
  3. Water Water and more Water
  4. Choosing low calorie treats and letting myself have 1 a day!

Really trying to keep this is simple as possible so that if i fall off for a day, it will be easy to get back on track. I'm also not falling victim to the stacked high piles of chocolate tubs in the supermarkets. I will not buy a tub till December!

Would anyone like to join? We have 11 full weeks till the start of December, and at 0.5kg a week - an opportunity to be at least 5.5kgs lighter.

I'll come back every Monday to share my new weight but will obviously be here in between to muse and hopefully share some nsv's

Welcome - it's a tricky time, too many cakes and chocolates in the shops 🙄

Waiting9 · 19/11/2024 03:06

Thought I’d update too. I last posted on 06/10/2024 weighing 63kg. I weigh 58.4kg now, so almost 5kg down, maybe the full 10kg before Christmas is doable. Or maybe not as that’s almost 1kg per week!

Wehaditsogood · 19/11/2024 14:48

SW 98.8kg
CW 90.8kg

So another half a kilo lost. Yay! DH is mystified how I can lose weight while eating his dinners. He cooks very healthy foods and we cut my portions down a little bit. Breakfast is plain porridge, lunch oatcakes and two apples to snack during the day.

As you all pointed it out, it will be hard to keep this up at Christmas. DM is very worried about me only eating one slice of cake a day. I told her I stopped eating chocolate, so she only bought one box of chocolate for me 😂

3luckystars · 19/11/2024 15:34

I have lost loads of weight on BodySlims and feeling great but I’m glad it’s not forever, I’m glad it’s only 10 weeks!!

my sister has lost 18lbs too and has signed up for the next course in January, I would highly recommend it.

Penguin89 · 19/11/2024 16:43

Hey everyone!

Just a quick update from me. I'm down 7kg in total, hooray! I didn't lose anything last week, so wonder if I've reached a plateau. I will see how this week goes. I've managed 2x 20min runs on Sunday and today, to gently get back into running...but DS is poorly and off preschool, so I haven't been for my morning walks 🤦

Hopefully I'll lose a bit more this week as I'd really like to shift those last 3-4kg... however what with breastfeeding/sleep deprivation with a 3 yo and a 3 month old, I'm not sure I can handle cutting any more calories. It's already a bit miserable not having any snacks! Plus I think I need to protect my milk supply. So I'd maybe have a bit of a break, and focus on not gaining + getting fitter.

Hoping running short distances might give my metabolism a boost but I think I've just invented that theory 😁?

okayhescereal · 21/11/2024 09:41

How's everyone getting on?

It's been a struggle here the last few weeks. I've had a virus which has meant missing my regular exercise class and left me feeling rather dizzy so haven't wanted to fast in the usual way. I've put 0.8kg back on, which I feel could have been much worse. The more annoying thing now is that I'm back to being hungry in a way I wasn't before. I'm trying to get back into the rhythm (eating window 9-3 then total fast every 4th day) and today would be day 4, but I woke up ravenous and not quite sure if I'll make it all the way to breakfast tomorrow!

SW: 90.2kg
CW: 85.6kg

With Christmas in 5 weeks it's feeling unlikely I'll be in the 70's bracket anymore, but perhaps we'll get close to the 10kg off. Overall still hoping to be around 74 by March. Final goal is 70, I don't really mind when next year that happens. Slow and steady.

RedHotChilliPreppers · 23/11/2024 12:48

I’ve got 2.9 kg to lose before Christmas. Not sure if that’s going to happen, but could get close. I’m planning on having the week of Christmas off dieting, but not going mad, then picking it up again 01 Jan.

RedHotChilliPreppers · 26/11/2024 06:51

Weighed in yesterday and I lost 1.4 kg last week. Not sure how!

I’ve 1.5kg to lose before I pull out my new Christmas outfit, which is getting worn everywhere 😝 Luckily in very different places, with different people, so getting my moneys worth.

Woohoo!!! Suddenly that goal seems more achievable huh! Go you 💪🏼

ChubbyBubbyBoo · 26/11/2024 08:05

Oh I’m going to join in! My plan is 16:8 intermittent fasting, cutting out sugary snacks and desserts (of which I consume many), and walking.

CW 51.1 kg
GW 47.6 kg

Wehaditsogood · 27/11/2024 11:51

SW 98.8kg
CW 90.4kg

It is getting very real now. So happy!
Although I know I have a long way to go even after Christmas.

Swearwolf · 28/11/2024 08:13

Dipped out of the thread for a while - I've been travelling for work so been eating out a lot and my exercise routine has completely gone out the window. I'm home now and back on it (as much as you can be in the run up to Christmas).

Now this may be just because my body always delays any weight gain or loss, and I see my eating habits reflected a couple of weeks later, so it could be temporary. But I braved the scales this morning and I've lost 0.4kg - this meets my first mini goal as I'm now 63.2 which is 9 stone 13!!!! I haven't been under 10 stone for a while and now I've broken that barrier I'm determined not to cross back. Next little goal is 62.5kg, which is 9 stone 10 and the top healthy weight for my height. I've been losing roughly 0.4kg every couple of weeks, so I think I can hit that by Christmas. For now I am feeling pretty good!

okayhescereal · 28/11/2024 14:41

3rd week in a row of zero movement.

If I was trying to maintain this would be thrilling.

Wehaditsogood · 02/12/2024 15:20

SW 98.8kg
CW 88.9kg

I am not sure how I lost 1.5kg in a week. (Probably made a mistake last week.) But that means I am on 9.9kg weight loss.
Now comes the hard part to get to healthy weight.

PrincessofWells · 02/12/2024 19:41

I have another 1lb loss to report.

Sw 13st 9
Cw 12st 11lb.

It's slow, but the cycling is helping. I haven't been this weight since 2005.

Does anyone else know exactly how much they weighed at significant times in their life, or is it a bit weird? 🤨

RedHotChilliPreppers · 03/12/2024 06:50

I haven’t weighed myself yet this week as I had a bad weekend. A lot of wine got sloshed about and the next thing I knew I was surrounded by empty chocolate wrappers and ice cream.

Not good when I’m nearly at goal weight.

I wasn’t very happy yesterday though as someone commented on my weight-loss very negatively. Apparently I’m now too thin and if I carry on I’ll look dreadful. I’m not sure how this has happened as at 5ft 3”, clearly I was overweight at 11 stone 8 lbs. I’m now 10 stone 5 lbs which is still a lot for my height. I’m a size 12. Thats not exactly bordering on major skinny is it? I was quite taken aback by the totally loaded and a bit malicious comment.

TBH I don’t like people commenting either way. I’m doing it for me, my health, and to improve my sports performance which my weight was affecting.

Swearwolf · 03/12/2024 06:52

Nice to break into a new stone bracket @PrincessofWells, well done!

I know exactly what you mean about knowing how much I weighed. Particularly for the last four years as I've been tracking weight on my Garmin watch, but before that I have certain weights I want to hit based on what my usual weight was at times. For years I was 8 stone 10, then 9 stone 3, then 9 stone 10. Now for the last eight years I've been hovering around 10 and a half. I'm just back down into the 9s!! I doubt I'll hit the 8s now, but I'd love to be 9.3 again, that was such a comfortable weight for me.

RedHotChilliPreppers · 05/12/2024 07:55

I lost 0.5kg, so 1 kg to go before Christmas. So near yet so far.

Swearwolf · 05/12/2024 09:02

@RedHotChilliPreppers that's amazing, you're so close! Even if that last kg doesn't come off before Christmas, you're still in a much better position than you were right? There is so little in it. Don't be discouraged!

RedHotChilliPreppers · 05/12/2024 10:21

I’m not, don’t worry.
Not sure what to do if/when I reach it. Go a bit more or maintain it.

I don’t want to have to choose between my face and my arse.

Penguin89 · 08/12/2024 08:59

@RedHotChilliPreppers goodness who said that to you? So weird making an unsolicited comment like that.

SW 67.15kg
CW 57.6kg

So I'm basically there. The last few weeks have been sloooow though and I've also been eating my way through my son's selection pack in the last 2 days 😐 oops. Is anyone else apparently unable to limit themselves to just 1 or 2 small pieces of chocolate? I used to be able to have just a couple of squares after dinner, now if I start eating sweet stuff I find it really hard to stop. Will I eventually be able to break the habit? I think I just can't buy it at all, ever.

Wehaditsogood · 08/12/2024 17:11

@Penguin89 I had to give up chocolate altogether. I can't ever have just one 😫

Penguin89 · 08/12/2024 18:56

@Wehaditsogood 😱😱😱

Waiting9 · 08/12/2024 19:00

Wow you have all made such incredible progress. Any tips?

I’m currently 6.3kg down. Don’t think I’ll get to the full 10kg before Christmas so will probably be a new years goal for me!
