Nice, easy four pounds in September. Who's with me?

MaxEye · 02/09/2024 10:51

I want to drop four pounds in September - a nice, easy target of a pound a week.

Yesterday, I was 8st 4lb. I want to get down to 8st. I'm a short-arse so this would take me into the 'healthy' BMI range.

I'll be:
Calorie restricting (1,500 a day at maximum)
Abstaining from alcohol
Limiting puddings to one a day after tea
Aiming to work out twice per week but definitely managing one time

Would anyone like to join me?

I would love to join, another shortie weighing in at 8st 12. I would love to be 8st but it just doesn’t happen for me so 8st 7 is a good compromise:

I need to be strict with weighing and tracking my food.

Welcome newbies! And congratulations to everyone who's already lost weight in 2024!

Today's a weird day. I got a tofu chilli out of the freezer for tea as a hearty, wintery meal but now it's gone quite bright and sunny. So I might keep the chilli for tomorrow and have some fiesta rice with chicken breast tonight. Unless it starts up raining again then it's back to chilli 🤣

Hi everyone!

Amazingly I have lost 2 pounds this week!. I am amazed because I have not completely cut snacking out but I have improved my diet and I have upped the walking.
Well done to everyone for persevering.

MaxEye · 09/09/2024 13:11

@TheSparkling Amazing news - well done!

I hope everyone's up for a really productive week 2. I'm weighing in tomorrow and will update then.

Tonight's tea is the tofu chilli I didn't eat yesterday.
I've just had pizza pockets (250 calories) and some cookies (100 calories) for lunch which were shit (the pizzas, not the cookies) but they've been hanging around in the freezer since Christmas so was time to bite the bullet.

I need the scales to go back down by tomorrow. I am on my period but have also drunk a few too many glasses of wine at the weekend (we will just blame the period though).

HarrietHillbilly · 09/09/2024 17:14

I am fully expecting to be fatter tomorrow. Work do AND a party at the weekend so it was a total disaster week to be honest. Also LO is teething and has been off his milk, and at the moment breastfeeding usually makes my calorie deficit! Never mind, plenty of time yet. I will have to up the exercise for the rest of the month!

MaxEye · 10/09/2024 07:14

Morning all - I was 1.5lb down today. Woohoo.

I hope everyone's weigh-in goes well.

Well done @MaxEye !
Started at 127lbs
Initially lost 2.5 lb which must have been a blip.
Now I’m 126.5 so marking it as half a pound!

Not too bad considering I’m on my period and no IF over the weekend. I will get my act together for the rest of the month though!

TerroristToddler · 10/09/2024 08:52

SW - 136.5lbs
CW - 134.5lbs

So a 2lbs loss last week, whch I'm thrilled about. I weigh daily and did get to 134 and even 133.8lbs at the weekend, but did a big peloton bike workout and then some resistance training and have been sore since and as a result the scales shot up again 😂

I'm expecting losses to be slower this coming week as a lot of first week weight loss is usually ditching water weight. But aiming for 1lb loss if possible.

Cantbesure · 10/09/2024 09:06

I'm also very short and sadly now very fat. Joining in the Tuesday weigh in. I've lost .65kg this week so approx 1.5lbs. I'm delighted as I didn't seem to be able to move the number on the scales.

I'm calorie counting using MFP, IF 16:8 (weekdays mainly), increasing exercise including a long walk at the weekend. Reducing alcohol but prob not as much as I could.

Hope everyone is seeing a loss this morning.

neverendinglauaundry · 10/09/2024 09:19

Can I join? I need some accountability!!

HarrietHillbilly · 10/09/2024 09:26

Well done those who lost weight this week! 👏

I am 2lb heavier, as suspected, though most is probably water weight. It was probably the piggiest weekend I've had all year! I'm just in the luteal phase of my first cycle following breastfeeding and I'd forgotten how very hungry progesterone makes me! But a from next week it will subside so I'll hopefully have a better month from now on.

OlivejuiceU2 · 10/09/2024 11:38

I’m 2lbs down! Very happy with that as had a bad weekend.

did an 18hr fast yesterday followed by healthy eating and then the gym.

MaxEye · 10/09/2024 15:26

Well done to everyone who lost this week. If you haven't lost, no worries. It's four pounds over a month so plenty of time left.

Welcome to newbies. We're keeping a chatter going to keep each other motivated and then weighing in on Tuesdays. Join us!

Tea this evening for me is salmon and cous cous with Zhoug dressing. This recipe. It's really delicious.
Then I'm off to the pub for book club but it'll just be a Diet Coke for me.

Lunch was biscuits and cheese because I left it too late to cook or prepare anything decent. It wasn't huge calories but kind of disappointing and now I'm hungry again.

I've lost half a pound (!) since last Tues. It's hard to know if that's a real loss as my weight seems to really fluctuate each day.

Well done everyone (whether you've lost or not). It's really helpful to have this thread.

Dolliesdisasterousdayout · 10/09/2024 20:48

Well done everyone!

We just booked a holiday for 5 weeks time so I need to get strict!

I’m going to have to cut out my beloved wine and carbs.

Well done OP! My weigh in day is Friday morning! 🤞🤞

MaxEye · 12/09/2024 09:50

Hope everyone's doing well and staying motivated.

Food today is falafels and salad for lunch, then tea is a vegan chilli.

It's suddenly gotten really cold here in Yorkshire so I'm looking at switching to more hearty, autumnal meals that are still low calorie. Any ideas - low/no meat if possible!

Hi all,

Jumping onto this late but you all seem a lovely kind and encouraging bunch.
I have a holiday mid October that i really need to get into shape for.

Height 5'3

Weight on Sept 1st - 198.4lbs
Weight on Sept 12th - 192.68lbs (down 5.72lbs)

As you can tell - I'm pretty heavy and have a long way to go to get to the 'healthy bmi' My technique so far has been IF using 18:6 and trying as much as possible to keep to one snack a day - but a good soul fulfiling one 😁. As much water and black coffee as I want.

I'm also a big walker - so at least 12-15k steps a day.

So far its done me good, but assume that it is a alot of water weight. I'll just keep going and see what happens.

HarrietHillbilly · 12/09/2024 12:35

@MaxEye I love tomato based stews with butter beans, celery, aniseed flavour (from fennel if you like). Baked potatoes are really cosy too. Squash, roasted or stuffed and baked? Lentil soup, minestrone, pea and ham soup (or just use meat stock but skip the ham for low meat). I love using feta in things like the stuffed squash as it's so salty and full of flavour you don't need much for loads of taste.

goingdownfighting · 12/09/2024 17:05

@maxeye I'm having the same issue for lunches. I normally have a cold lunch and need something warm and hearty. I don't mind repeating the same lunch so next week I'm going to have 2 poached eegs or smoked mackerel on some hummus or tahini or whipped feta and salad on some warburtons super seeded bread. Probably sprinkle some seeds/chili.

poptake · 12/09/2024 17:10

I seem to have brought back some kind of bug on holiday so I suspect that's going to help my next weigh in 😩 it's been a week now, I can still eat but really painful stomach, why does it take being ill to realise how much we should cherish our health and body?!

2Early4Breakfast2024 · 13/09/2024 05:49

I’d like to join in, if it’s not too late in the month. I can probably lose one pound a week.

It’s been stressful since school went back here in August, and I need to reset my plan, which is Intermittent Fasting window 10am-7pm, no sweeteners and low sugar. Trying to cut down on lattes. Also eat too much cheese. Need to eat more salad and berries.

Dolliesdisasterousdayout · 13/09/2024 08:05

@poptake hope you feel better soon!
