Nice, easy four pounds in September. Who's with me?

I want to drop four pounds in September - a nice, easy target of a pound a week.

Yesterday, I was 8st 4lb. I want to get down to 8st. I'm a short-arse so this would take me into the 'healthy' BMI range.

I'll be:
Calorie restricting (1,500 a day at maximum)
Abstaining from alcohol
Limiting puddings to one a day after tea
Aiming to work out twice per week but definitely managing one time

Would anyone like to join me?

Can I join?! I started IF before the summer holidays which suited me and I lost a couple of lbs, but I’ve massively over indulged all summer holidays and need to lose quite a bit. Weighed yesterday and I was 11 stone 9 but I think hope at least 3-4lbs is water weight. I was 11 stone 2 end of June and I need to be under 10 stone 10 really (10 stone 7 would be ideal but not sure I’ll get there). I’m 5”7 and when I was 10 stone I was a very slim size 8-10.

So my plan is to carry on with the IF (except for on long run days when I have to fuel first!) and regular exercise. No breakfast, Healthy but filling lunch, ONE high protein snack in the afternoon then dinner. Dont drink much alcohol anyway. Snacking is my downfall.

MaxEye · 02/09/2024 14:25

@afreshbouquetofpencils Absolutely. Welcome!

I'll join - embarassingly starting yet again!

I'm a super slow loser, but like to do it as a group as find it much more motivating!

I'm currently 9st 10.5 but need to get down to 9st really and giving myself between now and Feb to do so - but starting with 4lbs would help!

MaxEye · 02/09/2024 15:08

@TerroristToddler Nope, no such thing as embarrassing here. Stop with that nonsense. You're here. Let's do it. Welcome.

Hi , I'm way heavier and 5'4 so I got a fair bit to lose! Im 13.13 atm and would like to lose at least 5 pounds this month or more I've lost 21 pounds so far since July , hope I lose at least 10 pounds but I might just lose 5. How tall are you if you don't mind me asking?

I'm 13.12 today so 22 pounds down 34 to go

MaxEye · 02/09/2024 15:35

@Accbabymom1994 Here's to getting 4 of the 34 off in September!
22 pounds off so far is an amazing result, well done.

Can I join please?

really need something to hold me accountable.

Not sure how much I weigh, will do it tomorrow but I know I’m piling it on at the moment.

just tried to go for a run but my hip pain would not allow so just did a walk.

my problem is consistency, always start the week off really well with good intentions and end the week emotionally eating (cheers work/life stress)

MaxEye · 02/09/2024 15:49

Of course @OlivejuiceU2 Welcome! A walk is good, even if not what you intended.

I would love to join!I am trying to fast.(I don't eat after 7pm until 12 the next day)I can't afford the gym so do home work outs of pilates.
I am also going through menopause and that does not help.

MaxEye · 02/09/2024 16:17

Can I join too please? Sadly I have a lot more than 4lb to lose, probably 2 stone, but it’s a good start and hopefully being accountable in this group will help.

I need to find a way to quit sugar as peri menopause has created a sugar monster!

WafflesOrIceCream How have you found the fasting? I have always eaten breakfast but would like to try fasting so thought I would try having breakfast later, about 11, and see how I get on. Currently don’t eat after 8 due to HRT.

myhappychappy · 02/09/2024 20:38

Yes this sounds great! I am 5 foot 4 and managed to get down to 10 stone 7 from 13 11lbs this past year. Have thyroid disease, so it was very hard. I plan to do :

  1. Joe Wicks Meno weights twice a week
  2. Lucy Wyndan Reid 7 minute challenges every day
  3. walk my dog twice a day for 15 minutes
  4. Fasting 16/8 1200 cals low carbs
Magnolia82 · 02/09/2024 21:21

@MaxEye I'm actually a similar weight to you (I seem to be fluctuating between 8st2 and 8st4). I'm also quite short and I definitely feel/look better around 7st10ish. I would love to lose 4 pounds in Sept. I think it is so hard when we're short/don't have much to lose. I will weigh in the morning to get my starting weight.

Whaleandsnail6 · 02/09/2024 21:23

I'm similar to you op... I'm only 5ft so really notice weight gain. I'm heaviest I've ever been at 9stone now (I'm heavier than when I was pregnant with my first!), would love to get to 8 stone but for now I'll settle for 4lbs off!

Its my 40th in November and I'd love to feel comfortable in my jeans by then...at the moment my thighs feel massive in them.

I'm stopping eating after 7pm and not eating again until 11-12pm depending on how busy I am at work. I'm also being strict with logging on my fitness pal and getting back into running with couch to 5k.

I find the diet coke helps as a treat mid afternoon and also some natural yoghurt. I slump a bit by 3pm and need something to pick me up a bit.

Rubyandscarlett · 02/09/2024 22:29

I'm in.
4lbs is doable and won't overwhelm me.

Dolliesdisasterousdayout · 03/09/2024 08:29

So starting weight for me is 127 lbs (thought it would be easier in pounds if 4lb is the goal).

LazyLeopard · 03/09/2024 09:25

MaxEye · 02/09/2024 19:40

@LazyLeopard She's stunning. I love new notepads 🥰

Thanks @MaxEye - me too! A good notepad can be LIFE CHANGING I think!

LazyLeopard · 03/09/2024 09:30

I'm weighing every day, I have those scales that link to my phone, as I find it keeps me motivated even if I go up and down, it helps me sort of settle my thoughts!

So I've lost 0.8lbs since yesterday, it will go up and down over the week (and I need to be strict as the weekend is where I lose it!)

Gym tonight, so trying to up my protein for the day.

tinymoon · 03/09/2024 09:50

Morning! So I did my weigh-in this morning. 130 lbs (9 stone 4 I think). Have started tracking my food today with the calorie counter app. Hope everyone has a good day.

Morning and hello to all the joiners!

And a special morning and hello to all the other short-arse ladies who know the pain of slight weight gain on a 5ft-ish frame 😩
