Stone in 6 weeks support club!

Restlessinthenorth · 09/08/2024 13:26

Hey

I am looking to shift around 1.5 stones. Going to start by focusing on moving the first stone over the next six weeks. Starting the thread for accountability and if anyone would like to join for a bit of support?

I weighed in last Sunday, so will see what week one results are like soon.

Not following any particular diet, although doing an intermittent fast, and focusing on two high protein balanced meals daily

So the scales haven't shifted much this week but had to come and say that I bought a size 14 pair of jeans and vest in Next today as my aim to slim into and they only bloody fit!! Inspired me to try on some of my 14s and the t-shirts and jeans fit, some of the dresses and a couple of tops. Burned an extra few calories doing happy dances 💃 🤣

Official weekly weigh day for me is a Monday, so hopefully see a loss in the morning. My birthday is a week on Tuesday so aiming to be under 196 for that.

Bought tons of fish yesterday at costco, have meal planned the week and have a long walk and an exercise class planned in for this week too.

Glenthebattleostrich · 18/08/2024 19:02

@Restlessinthenorth Fantastic loss there, well done.

Tomatojuiceandvodka · 19/08/2024 07:49

Morning everyone. Today is my weigh day and I’m 4lb off! So pleased with how it’s going.

well done everyone!

Glenthebattleostrich · 19/08/2024 08:05

Well done @Tomatojuiceandvodka that's a brilliant loss.

I'm 2lb off this morning. Cleaning the house today then a long walk planned for later. Need 2.5lb off this week to hit my target of under 14st for my birthday next week.

chalkyc2 · 19/08/2024 08:26

Ok - I start today! Weigh in this morning wasn't great. I actually need to lose 10kg and my goal is to do it in 10 weeks. So I'm not strictly adhering to the thread rules but I'd love to hang around for some company!

Off I go to work with my breakfast smoothie and lunch packed and ready. And a big bottle of water!

Restlessinthenorth · 19/08/2024 10:18

Great to hear of everyone's successes!

I'm under so much pressure at work this week and my normal way of coping with that is to eat biscuits. This thread is absolutely making me more mindful not to do that!

Hope everyone’s day went well. I was back at work after some time off. Took my shakes, apple, carrot sticks and banana. My two work best friends went to the chippy at lunch! I don’t know how but I managed to resist!

finished the day having had:
two shakes, an apple, carrot sticks, (didn’t even get to my banana I was so busy) prawn and fennel risotto. No gym today but 10k steps done.

Rosemaryandolives · 19/08/2024 21:13

Are you happy if I join in this chat too. I have joined Mumsnet specifically!

My Weight has been creeping up past few months as I massively reduced my Diet Coke intake. I was expecting to put on a bit of weight as I kicked the habit but I now need to focus on losing the gained weight.

I won’t be able to lose a stone in now 5 weeks but i hope i can lose half a stone.

👋

Tomatojuiceandvodka · 20/08/2024 07:53

Welcome rosemaryandolives. I’m really annoyed with myself. I went and weighed myself this morning and I KNEW I shouldn’t until actual weigh day. I have gained a lb from yesterday. And I know it’s all the usual fluctuations and that the overall trend is downwards but I’m so annoyed with myself for even looking because now I feel really disheartened. Anyway I’m off to work with my two shakes, banana, apple and celery.

Radyward · 20/08/2024 09:30

Loosely doing the 16/8
Cutting down on sweeties and chocs.
Not got on the exercise bike yet bit il noticing a reduction in my waist. Keep going all
This thread is brill for motivation.

2Early4Breakfast · 21/08/2024 00:05

Got moving a bit more at the weekend, and felt much better for it. I was down one pound this morning. When I lose one more pound, I’ll be down one stone from the end of June.

It’s very motivating to read all the posts. I’ve yoyo-ed all my life, and it’s now or never for defeating this. Thank you for starting it, @Restlessinthenorth

Biscuitburglar · 21/08/2024 06:31

I’d love to join too please! I have lost very nearly half a stone since June but have another half to go. I keep losing 7lbs, which takes huge effort, and then as soon as I stop watching it goes back on again! So this time I need to take it off and then change my eating habits to keep it off.

Restlessinthenorth · 21/08/2024 09:39

So happy that this thread is feeling useful to so many of us!

I'm going to weigh a day early this week as have a good and drink heavy day on Saturday which I intend to enjoy! My goal will be to have maintained when I weigh the following week!

So far, I’m sticking to my food and exercise every day. Sometimes I can’t even be bothered sitting still to watch telly!

I’m down one more pound this morning, and have reached a half-stone point on the scales which always feels good. If I keep this up, I should reach my target by the October holiday and fit into a smaller size.

Hi all, please could I join too? @Biscuitburglar’s post mirrors my experience exactly! I need to lose 1.5 stone in total to get back to where I was a couple of years ago. It’s great to have some support via a thread like this, and hear about what everyone is up to!

2Early4Breakfast · 23/08/2024 21:59

I’d like to do a short post-and-boast, if that’s allowed.

This morning started busy and productive, then suddenly we were in an urgent situation for hours this afternoon. I did not binge. I got coffee and baps, and ate like a normal person. I haven’t bought ten quid’s worth of garbage or ordered from any app.

The scales might twitch upwards a bit over the weekend, but I am so happy with what I achieved. And all within my IF window.

Ellie8370 · 24/08/2024 11:03

Hi, a bit late to the group but could I join to please?
I've been on and off with my weight loss journey for goodness knows how long now but a long weekend away with many meals and the subsequent weigh in brought me to the quite shocking realisation that I'm a now the heaviest I've been since I was pregnant!

I know what I need to do but I struggle to stick to it and find a group chat for accountability essential for me. Realistically I need to lose about 3 stone but I've no target set to shift it although I am due to have surgery next month and I'd like to be in a routine food wise and have prepped meals and snacks for when I'm off my feet to help me not fall off the wagon 🤦🏻‍♀️

Restlessinthenorth · 24/08/2024 23:15

Well won to our new joiners! Hope you find this thread as useful for accountability as many of us have so far. Well done @2Early4Breakfast that sounds like you abashed that situation!

I weighed in a day early. Shocked to discover I lost 3.5lb. Flabbergasted but that makes a 9lb loss over three weeks. I've been out eating and drinking today then out with a friend for a curry/drinks on Monday so at best my next weigh in will a maintain if not a little on, but life is for living and all that, and trying to get straight back on it. We walked home from the train tonight (40 mins) rather than get a cab, so every little helps.

Still a stone from my ideal weight, but if 3 weeks ago anyone would have told me I'd be 9lb down already I wouldn't have believed it! So thanks all for the shared motivation. I really think it has helped

Thanks restless! and nine pounds in three weeks! Awesome! !

The tricky part for me is when the adrenaline rush is over. I’m okay, but my choices are not particularly healthy today. Focussing on salad and lean meat for the next few days.

Tomatojuiceandvodka · 25/08/2024 18:48

Restless that’s incredible! Well done!

Ive been struggling more the past few days. The initial huge drop i had in week one has levelled off (as was expected to be fair) and without seeing huge impact on the scales, motivation dips and I’ve started to feel hungry. Sticking with it though and getting plenty of exercise in so hopefully tomorrow’s end of week two (for me) weigh in brings good news. I’ll let you know in the morning.

Biscuitburglar · 26/08/2024 09:14

It’s really hard when your weight stagnates despite trying your best and after a good drop at the start. But I’m finding a free app called Happy Scale really helpful as it puts the focus on your trended weight instead of your latest weigh-in. I’m no expert at this! I’m losing weight very slowly, just saying to posters just above, keep going! And you might like Happy Scale…

Tomatojuiceandvodka · 26/08/2024 13:56

Thanks I’ll look at that app.

todays weigh in shows just one pound off this week but I guess it’s all going in the right direction!

2Early4Breakfast · 29/08/2024 08:22

I’m down another pound today, and it feels so slow! But it’s what I expected - one pound every four or five days.

I’ve had to go to the supermarket twice in the past few days, and have avoided all the temptations which barely register with me now. I always make sure my next meal is planned and ready in the fridge for microwave or whatever.

Total lost since posting here is three pounds.

Restlessinthenorth · 29/08/2024 12:22

All progress is good progress! And three pounds off is better than on

I've not made great choices this week. Trying to pull it back now but not expecting the scales to be kind on Sunday
