Stone in 6 weeks support club!

Restlessinthenorth · 09/08/2024 13:26

Hey

I am looking to shift around 1.5 stones. Going to start by focusing on moving the first stone over the next six weeks. Starting the thread for accountability and if anyone would like to join for a bit of support?

I weighed in last Sunday, so will see what week one results are like soon.

Not following any particular diet, although doing an intermittent fast, and focusing on two high protein balanced meals daily

Bumping in case anyone wants to join! First weigh in, 3lb off. Was hoping for 4, but not a bad start!

I’ll join. I have 1 stone to lose, already 16lb down since the start of June but it seems to go in fits and starts. I’m trying not to “diet”, just less complex carbs and more protein and veg proportionally, smaller portions and not eating unless I’m hungry. 3lb in one week is amazing! How long do you fast?

hayal · 11/08/2024 10:57

I'll join you. I weighed myself this morning, so know my starting point.
I think I'll calorie count and try to complete 8-10k steps a day.

Restlessinthenorth · 11/08/2024 11:11

Oh glad to have two people join! I'm trying g similar strategies to you both in terms of food and steps. I'm roughly eating in a window from 11am till 7pm. Not a massive breakfast eater in any case so this works for me.

This week will be more of a test...three heavy working days where we will be fed by work and the choices won't be the best! But will be extra careful in the run up and see how I do. 2lb off this week is my target I think!

Hello, can I join you?

I did really well on the see how much you can lose in a month thread recently and need to refocus.

I'm 200lb and it's my birthday in 3 weeks, would love to be half a stone down by then.

I'm fasting until at least 12 and aiming for at least 10000 steps per day. Also doing 15 minutes of strength work per day. Aiming for lower carb diet and more Mediterranean style meals.

Restlessinthenorth · 11/08/2024 12:34

Welcome @Glenthebattleostrich ! Your goal sounds realistic!

I've just done a very warm 8000 steps round my local park! The hot weather seems to make the eating g and getting water on board so much easier!

Glenthebattleostrich · 12/08/2024 07:22

Thank you and good morning!

It is horribly humid today. Need to menu plan for this week and go shopping today. DD is joining me with the healthier attitude and will be coming for lovely walks on an evening.

Did anyone stay up and watch the meteor shower last night?

Restlessinthenorth · 12/08/2024 10:45

@Glenthebattleostrich it helps to have someone on board with you doesn't it?!

I didn't see the meteor shower but really wish I had!

OP posts:
Glenthebattleostrich · 12/08/2024 10:53

It definitely does. The meteors were amazing, my teen was actually quiet for a good ten minutes watching them!!

How are you getting on this morning?

anon2022anon · 12/08/2024 10:54

I joined another one of these and then fell off within days 🙈 I'm not sure whether I'll hit a stone, but I'd love to join you. High protein, lower carb here, and I'll try and throw in a fast day a week too. I'm using the meal plan on Food for Fitness as a starting guide, high protein handbook as a good recipe book (though I prefer some of his online recipes). Meal plan for week 1 is done, and a stupidly expensive food shop this morning- meat is so expensive!

I don't know how much I weigh currently, but I know that I was 89kg in July. I'm next at the nurses in September, so that will be my next weigh point.

I am in London for 3 days at the end of next week, so I've got 10 days to have a good start on this, 3 days off, then prob 3/ 4 weeks back on. My downfall is late night snacking, so I need to get that in the bin.

Glenthebattleostrich · 12/08/2024 10:59

Hi @anon2022anon, what kind of things do you have on your menu? I'm thinking steak and salad tonight, fish curry tomorrow, burgers and halloumi fries, chicken fajita bowl and a keto lasagne this week for dinners with some omelette and salads for lunches. Don't usually have breakfast, usually fast when I'm not working.

Aiming for 2l of water per day and cutting out the wine (although will still have a g&t).

That's the rough plan anyway!!

Restlessinthenorth · 12/08/2024 11:07

Welcome @anon2022anon no pressure to hit the stone! Glad you have joined us

That meal plan sounds lovely! I did fish curry last night and plenty of left overs, so that's my dinner this evening! Lunches for the week I've prepped protein bagels filled with an egg and cottage cheese mix, topped with slices chicken and salad. Really tasty!

anon2022anon · 12/08/2024 13:47

Meal plan this week is:
Turkey Bolognaise
Chicken Pilau
Brazilian coconut chicken curry
Spanish Meatballs
Honey sriracha Gyoza & rice
Burgers with no buns
Nothing decided for Sunday

I've just had crackers topped with sliced chicken, cheese and a side of reduced fat hummus for lunch with a boiled egg, still hungry though! Have to weigh the pasta tonight and no garlic bread 😞

Restlessinthenorth · 12/08/2024 14:13

@anon2022anon they sound delcious! Can I come round!? Smile

I need to lose about a stone - My BMI is currently just over 27 and I need to get mtch fit for an operation in a few weeks. My plan is cut down on processed sugar and go to the gym.

Restlessinthenorth · 12/08/2024 16:24

Glad you have joined us @Willowkins

Already got 11000 steps in today and plenty of water! Feeling positive for the week ahead

Thanks. So far I have politely turned down the offer of a cream cake.

Tomatojuiceandvodka · 13/08/2024 15:19

I’m a bit late but can I join? I have 12lb to lose. Currently a healthy weight but has crept up and nothing fits. Plan is meal replacement shakes for calorie controlled diet plus increase in exercise. My weigh day is Monday so I will let you know how I get on next week!

Restlessinthenorth · 13/08/2024 18:13

Welcome! @Tomatojuiceandvodka love your username....my favourite holiday drink!

For those who are calorie counting, are you using an app?
I'm using Nutracheck, I have just subscribed after the free trial, so I had best stick to it!!

anon2022anon · 13/08/2024 21:32

@hayal I've also just downloaded nutracheck for the free trial, compared to my fitness pal it's a dream

Restlessinthenorth · 13/08/2024 21:44

I haven't used an app, hadn't thought to actually. Interesting to hear how you get on.

Been another on track day today. Definitely in the zone at the moment and long may it continue! Hope everyone else has had a decent day

OP posts:
Lastminuteisinit · 13/08/2024 21:46

Do you think the steps really make a difference? Need some motivation here!

hayal · 13/08/2024 21:54

Nutracheck is so easy to use compared to MFP. I tried MFP earlier in the year and gave up because it was time consuming finding foods. I also thought it was quite expensive for the premium service. Nutracheck is £35 for a year, which I felt was good value. Just the ease of using the scanner is worth the price.
I'm struggling to hit 8-10k steps, I'm working from home this week and walking at lunchtime, but I'm only hitting about 6k. I'll change my route tomorrow and see how I get on.

Raaraab · 13/08/2024 22:05

I would love to join you. And I would love to lose a stone.
