Hello everyone. Just thought I'd pop my head in. SW diet is on hold for me at the moment as have been ill with depression. Consultant has been very kind and said that she will put me down as a "shift worker" so I can go to group when I have a better day. Told her I don't want to give up and will go along when feeling brighter. Keeping an eye on "you lot" so you'd better be good. xxx

Hi Sparkler - just to let you know I'm thinking about you and hope you get better soon. You had so much to cope with last year. Take good care of yourself. {{{{{{{{{{Hugs}}}}}}}}}}}

Demented · 23/01/2005 21:29

Hugs Sparkler, hope you are feeling brighter soon.

Demented · 23/01/2005 21:42

Can I just have a bit of a rave about the SW plan?

I have been starving today and realised this evening I didn't have a HE left for toast so had (it's a red day) three slices of bacon and an egg all done in fry light, wonderful! I can't believe I am allowed this!!!

Downside is I am still hungry and I think my body is craving the food a green day offers, I am on my fourth red day in a row (just the way things have worked out), looking forward to some serious pasta in the next few days!

Loobz · 23/01/2005 23:21

Must admit I find that too Demented - I am never full on a red day but always feel satisfied on green days. I normally stick to green and just go red at weekends to fit in with the rest of the family.
I have just eaten a big bag of dates - before I checked the sin count - and am horrified - 2 syns each!
Have been good apart from that today too!

DecafArabica · 24/01/2005 11:48

Hey Sparkler, hope you're feeling better soon. I have also suffered from depression in the past so I know a little about where you're coming from. Glad your consultant's being so understanding.
I have put on 6lbs since discovering am pg but nothing is getting any tighter so I think it's water retention. But my consultant suggested I might have been relaxing my food choices a little more than normally and said I should fill in a food diary this week just to be sure. So, that's what I have done, but it's all going to be a bit up the spout as have got mild fluey bug, and only ate a sandwich yesterday. So far she has forgotten to bring me the pg SW book but I think official policy is eat as normal for first six months, no extra healthy extras, you only get them when you are bf.

Twiglett · 24/01/2005 12:41

{{{{Hugs}}}} Sparkler .. hope your back soon

Twiglett · 24/01/2005 12:41

Demented · 25/01/2005 08:51

3.5lbs off last night! Checked my book and the woman has wrongly recorded my gain for last week as only 1lb when she told me it was 2lbs. They are so disorganised it is unbelievable. Glad to have made the decision not to go back, they couldn't even find my sheet at first, then she had everyone clapping for my "first loss" when it is my fourth class, then she picked up my sheet which had been found by one of her helpers and announced I had lost my first half stone!

That being said the class wasn't so cringeful last night and I could see that I could probably get used to it. I know it's always there for me just down the road and if I am struggling I will go and rejoin. Sill following the plan, still think it's great!

How are you all?

BethAndHerBrood · 25/01/2005 16:54

Does anybody know the syn value of Uncle Bens Rispinos - yoghurt and apricot flavour? They're like snack a jacks. Hope you can help - i'm going to eat them anyway!!

choclover · 25/01/2005 19:54

My sw consultant was really good but has now left, the class i've now joined is really unfriendly and they seem put out by me and my friend going. For this reason i know nothing about this new mixture red/green day. Can anyone help??

Kittypickle · 26/01/2005 08:25

Hi ! After having toyed with the idea of joining SW before Xmas, wimping out and going to WW instead, I finally decided that I would try to cope with the clapping business and joined last night. Really glad I did, the woman is brilliant and has dry sense of humour which is hilarious. I came out feeling that I can really do this. Choclover, I'm sorry I have no idea about this red/green day yet.

choclover · 26/01/2005 17:31

well done for joining kittypickle, i find it a brilliant diet, and once you've got to grips with it you can make it part of your life. ive been doing it since june, and although only lost just under 2stone, feel that ive got a life still. i eat out loads and eat chocolate on a frequent basis. Good luck

Demented · 26/01/2005 20:51

Help! I've just been on the SW webside and checked the syns for my favourite flapjack (which DH lovingly bought for me, it is currently calling to me from the fridge) and it is 26.5 syns !

I keep having thoughts of well, it wouldn't matter too much would it? Tell me not to eat it!!! When DH comes back in I'm going to ask him to eat it or hide it but I'm not sure I can last 'till then!!! Arrrrrghh!

BTW I had a look for the Rispinos in the Directory but couldn't find them, sorry!

BethAndHerBrood · 26/01/2005 21:55

I ate the rispinos anyway - weren't that nice tbh!!!

choclover · 26/01/2005 22:16

Don't eat the flap jack, bet there's loads of other stuff you love that you could eat 3 of for the value of 26 odd syns. But if you have eaten it, just have syn free food all day tomorrow to compensate!

The best bit about loosing your first half stone and then a stone, is that you have to go out and buy new clothes, cos lets face it baggy trousers just don't flatter the new figure! It is definetly the most satisfying thing going in a shop and getting the next size down and them actually fitting. Well done everyone, keep at it! This forum gives far better support than you tend to get at sw classes

BethAndHerBrood · 27/01/2005 18:29

How much do you think you need to lose before your clothes are too big then? I haven't noticed any difference in my clothes yet, is this normal! I don't think i look any different, so have no idea where the weight has gone from, IYSWIM!

BethAndHerBrood · 27/01/2005 18:35

P.S. slimming world meetings are dire, aren't they??!!
