Sparkler, I'm sure you'll be feeling stronger next week.

Kittypickle · 08/02/2005 11:17

I think it takes a bit of time to work up to going back Sparkler, I reckon don't put pressure on yourself and go when you are ready. I have found your picture in the SW magazine (at least I'm pretty sure it's you !)

Demented, I'm far from an expert but I think you can use both your "B" choices on the chicken etc - what you're planning to do sounds like a good plan to me, enjoy it Thanks for asking how I did - I lost 4 lbs so was very happy with that. I'm off to night for another WI and hoping I've lost another pound or two seeing as I was so virtuous on the MN meetup I went to last week With the syns, my consultant said as you're allowed 15 syns a day then eat them, "no point turning down food" I think were her precise words (A woman after my own heart !) I am really enjoying this free food business after ages of trying and failing to stick to my WW points.

Yorkie Girl, 3 stone is amazing How is everyone else doing at the moment ?

Demented · 08/02/2005 13:53

That's great Kittypickle, although I know how you felt when you were wondering if you were going to lose I'm still like that (although I have put on twice since starting SW but it seems to come off again) there is so much to eat, I still can't get over it!

Thanks for the info about the B choices, if I am well behaved and stick to boiled rice and smallish portions of meat (chicken, prawns whatever looks nicest) could probably get away with counting 10 or 15 syns for any sauce? Obviously avoiding satay. That sounds too good to be true!

I'm querying the 10/15 syns thing again. Kittypickle, I notice you mention that your consultant has given you 15 syns, is there any reason for that? I'm just curious as to why people are given different amounts. My consultant (who was pants anyway and I don't go to her classes anymore) seemed to dish out 10 syns to everyone without question. I like your consultant's style . How long did you do WW?

Is the new magazine out?

Demented · 08/02/2005 13:54

Sorry that's a bit of a garble!

Kittypickle · 09/02/2005 13:34

I would think that would be OK Demented. I guess it might be an idea to look at the Syn values in the book for all the Chinese dishes and get an idea what's lowish. I went last night and lost a pound, but that was after Chilli in the Mexican, a takeaway veg curry and a couple of bits of chocolate, so I'm more than pleased with that I can' get over it either, I wish I hadn't faffed around with WW for so long - I've been on and off it for the past 3 years, before and after I got pregnant with DS. I have done SW in the past but absolutely hated the groups and didn't want to go back. But this woman is brilliant and totally hilarious with some of the things she comes out with ! With the Syn bit, as far as I can tell she tells everyone to have 15 - says that it says 5 - 15 in the book so you might as well have 15, which I'm not going to argue with

Kittypickle · 09/02/2005 13:35

Sorry, meant to say that the new SW magazine is out

Demented · 09/02/2005 20:32

Well done Kittypickle, still losing after having a Mexican!

I will look at the syn values in the books first. Will look out for the new mag with Sparkler in too!

Interesting about the Syns, I won't be too hard on myself if they creep over the 10 Syns my consultant recommended then, thanks.

SPARKLER1 · 09/02/2005 20:33

Kittypickle - who is your consultant?

Haven't got the magazine yet - but will pick one up next Monday at group. Will let you know if I'm there.

Jo at Parley First School Sparkler. You can autograph my copy at the next meetup I was a saint at that Mexican Demented, I really impressed myself. I was so hungry when I got home that I had to have something to eat before I crawled into bed.

BethAndHerBrood · 10/02/2005 14:05

I've got the new magazine, how do i know who SPARKLER is??

SPARKLER1 · 10/02/2005 19:22

Beth when I get the magazine I will let you know.

M155PIGGY · 10/02/2005 21:22

you guessed it - another newby!
still a bit bemused by how much it seems I can eat on this plan but willing and excited to give it a try - just gotta convince hubby too!

Demented · 10/02/2005 21:51

I've just had three!!! slices of wholemeal toast with cheese, and all within my Healthy Extras, haven't had any milk today (apart from a splash in a cup of tea), so figured it was OK to add another 10g of cheese to the usual allowance, and no B choices. I love this plan!

2lbs off this week too!

Kittypickle · 11/02/2005 12:13

Hi MI55Piggy ! I know what you mean about the amount you can eat. I did SW years ago in the dim and distant past and knew you could eat all the free foods. But I was not happy when I went to my first WI as I was convinced I would have put on (mainly because I tried it last when I was pregnant and put on 1.5lb the week I did it despite really sticking to it, must have been my hormones)I couldn't believe it when I found I'd lost 4 lb.

Demented, I love this too. I've got horrendous PMT but am coping with it fine food wise whereas on WW I would have severely blown my points by now. I'm going to have a plate of spagehetti with carbonara sauce for lunch, veggie chilli for tea and 6 mini creme eggs this evening. I'm going to have a go at those lasagne dorito type things this weekend and see if they work. The only downside to the whole thing is I find myself sneaking round the back of the playground to avoid my friend who is a WW leader - I had to own up that I had joined SW the other day and felt like a naughty school girl !

Demented · 11/02/2005 14:19

LOL Kittypickle.

Last year I was very kindly given a list of WW points (I lost 1.5 stone with them so am very grateful) but find SW far more suited to my appetite. Agree about coping with PMT better, my AF arrived today and yesterday I was able to cope with the cravings yet when on WW points I would blow about half if not more on chocolate and then having no 'real' food left to eat.

Demented · 12/02/2005 20:35

Having a bad day today, don't know whether it is delayed pre-menstrual cravings or just a bad day. Didn't help that it started without breakfast and has gone downhill sharply since then.

SPARKLER1 · 12/02/2005 20:37

Evening Demented. Well I'm definitely heading back to group on Monday night. Am making the most of eating everything I shouldn't before then. Tut Tut I know I shouldn't but what the heck. Will be interesting to find out how much I have put on as I haven't been weight in five weeks.

OP posts:
Demented · 12/02/2005 20:41

All the best for Monday Sparkler.

SPARKLER1 · 12/02/2005 20:45

Thanks Demented. Don't worry too much about your bad day. There's a new day tomorrow you can be good then.

OP posts:
Demented · 12/02/2005 20:48

I dread to think how many syns I've had today, only plus point is that I haven't eaten much in the way of free food or healthy extras so maybe caloriewise it balances out? [hopeful emoticon]

I am thinking about a bar of choc that is in my fridge, debating whether it is wise to just get it over with today (life's tough sometimes ) or whether to leave it for tomorrow, when I would be allowed it in my syns, can't decide!

You're right YG, that would be best, otherwise I might end up eating that one tonight and buying another one tomorrow ! Why oh why did I think it was a great idea to buy a multi-pack of chocolates this week anyway? I should know by now I can't cope with it, grrrr!
