Anyone else out there with 5 plus stones to lose? Who fancies doing a weekly weigh in with me?

I have got really overweight in the last couple of years and would love to meet some others who might be trying to cut down but not exactly dieting. Where do you start when there is so much to lose? Any tips on evening snacking? TIA

PinkChick · 07/06/2008 21:39

DONT!..onight is the first time ive wanted any this full week!, i didnt intend to cut it out, i just did but not ill feel like im letting myself down if i have any.even though ive had nothing really naughty all week!!??

RGPargy · 07/06/2008 21:41

if you've been good all week, then why not treat yourself to a small chocolate bar (i.e. a freddo!) on a Saturday night?

i haven't had chocolate all week either, if that's any consolation!

chocolatespiders · 08/06/2008 11:39

hi all just reporting in.....

yesterday went to strawberry fair in cambridge...

had chicken wrap for lunch

tea was fruit salad off a carabian food stall..

dinner was a kebab at 11pm... but it was only a small one when i would normally have a large with chips!!!

hope you all have a great day...

jaz236 · 08/06/2008 16:45

well we are having a BBQ - any sign of sun and my hubbie has the bbq out,

off the wall i know but has anyone here had more than one cesarian?

reason i ask is that i had one, in dec, adn iw as told by my friend that if i was planning to have another babby to wait a year as ive had a cesarian - is this true? as my uterus could rupture and it would be painful and sore.

jaz236 · 08/06/2008 16:46

and i rem freddos they were gorgeous - i have to amke do with mini crunchies now

PinkChick · 08/06/2008 19:47

sorry Jaz, no idea, but if you have had two already i would suggest speaking to someone(doc/midwife) to clear that up..i WOULD say you would prob need to leave time to 'heal'??

Well...i didnt go for the choc last night..i had a hi-lights hot choc instead and it totally hit the spot!..was lovely and felt so good this morn knowing i didnt give in

today has been a bit...breakfast this morn of cereal and a low fat yogurt, then at lunch time we were out, called at aunties then friends...before we knew it it was 4pm and had had no lunch(dd had had something at friedns with her dd)..so dp wanted to go to pizza hut and dd wanted to go to macdonalds..but i said NO...although what i had wasnt fab, i had already missed a meal so i kind of condoned it to myself esp as we could have had a big fat pizza..i made fish in bread crumbs with oven chips and mushy peas..i was stuffed and it was nice and im glad i didnt eat pizza or macdonalds and i spose i have done better than i thought i would over weekend???...am going to walk into town tomorrow, as i can tell ive had no excersiaze this weekend, so will burn a bit off on the walk...hope you all had lovely day (ooh and CS other than choc, kebabs with laods of salad and garlic sacue are my idea of heaven

PinkChick · 08/06/2008 19:55

oh and i was so annoyed this morning, i was sat on step of french doors eating my cereal, dd was on her trampoline and dp in playroom near me eating his breakfast..dd having aversion to flys at minute and shouts theres a bee..i say calmly trying to not panic her, its just a fly, hell go away now..but that doesnt work, dp jumps up and says "you just sit there on your fat arse"...........he has been worming round me all day since and when he asked (when out shopping today) what gym clothes i was going to buy i said "im not buying gym clothes, why would i go to the gym with you?, i was worried about other people mocking me, but why go to a gym when i can get that done at home"..and walked off..hes tried to talk, but not apologised and my only word for him right now is WANKER..am so p*ed of as we've both bee chatting all week about how i feel about my weight, what im doing/would ilike today etc and he comes out with this crap

jaz236 · 08/06/2008 21:14

naaaaaaaaaaa ive only had the one cesarian!

oh my gawd its starting diets cause arguments with your partners!

just go and tell him where to jump and he is in the wrong and should be fully suporting you! shame on him!! Just remember you are doing really well!

superdrug do these diet drink well its in some little cup thing ive seen it advertised on tv, something fiz or evervesant or soemthing anyone heard of it?

RGPargy · 08/06/2008 21:16

Jaz - i've not had a c-section, but have heard that you have to wait a year to get pregnant again because of healing time. Best check with your HV/Midwife tho.

Pink - Well done on resisting temptation!! That's deffo the way forward!! As for your DP, what a bloody cheek!! Men can be arses sometimes cant they.

jaz236 · 09/06/2008 07:31

all men are arses!

PinkChick · 09/06/2008 12:35

thanks girls..ive not let it get to me tbh, i know he said something stupid c'cos HE had to get up off his lazy behind for once..he KNOWS hes in the bad books...he went up to bed last night and when i got in he tried to give me a cuddle and i blocked it!..none of that thankyou my fit fat arse might get in the way

Jaz, sorry wrong end of stick, id think two scars would be fine? again tho, check first to make sure there ahs been enough time for this one to heal properly

well today, i didnt have time for breaky as after school run i went into town...about 10.30 i started feeling hungry/woozy..but managed to carry on till 11.30 as i didnt wnt to mess my meal times up..got a jacket potato withn plain tuna and cheese(no butter) from stall in town and could only eat half..got on scales this morn(my official first week but nurse will only weigh me every 2 weeks!) and theyre about the same as end of last week..dont know why it stopped..i was still very good????..but anyway..IIRC what my scales said last mon morn, ive lost 6lb

PinkChick · 09/06/2008 12:36

that should have said 'big' fat arse..LOL at it being fit

RGPargy · 09/06/2008 12:45

morning girls!

Got weighed today and i've lost 4.5lbs!!!!

The only thing i've done differently is cut right back on the booze, beer in particular. If it's a sunny day, it's an excuse to have an ice cold beer or two and even tho they're included in my points, they just bloat me out and make me retain water. not good!!

i've updated the list:

PinkChick · 10/06/2008 08:15

i dont like my scales..got on the morning and it said (something) 0 (a rounded stone), was dead chuffed got back on and it said (something) 3lb!!???..hadnt moved them, put more clothes back on or anything???????????(something 3 IS what i was but i thought id lost the other 3lb then

RGPargy · 10/06/2008 09:23

La Tasca is the most ADORABLE tapas restaurant. They do food there to DIE for. And the Rose wine is fabbie too!!

Pink - i'm like you and weigh myself daily, however, i only take any notice of my weight once a week on the same day at the same time (in my case Monday mornings at WW). My scales also fluctuate by the minute, so dont worry about it lol.

jaz236 · 10/06/2008 09:36

spanish tapas

Ags · 10/06/2008 13:57

Hello everyone. I have skim read the bits I missed. Hello to the newcomers. Welcome.

I have had Mum and Dad staying for 2 weeks and have not managed to put finger to keyboard for the entire time!

Sounds like everyone is doing really well. Even if the scales are fluctuating a bit everyone has such great intentions! Well done y'all!

I am on a bit of a go slow at the moment. I think I may need to do a kick start (weight watchers) to get my body losing properly again. But it is not too bad. I lost 1.5 last week and 1 this week. So I am happy enough but it is scary pants getting on those scales at the meeting when I feel they could go up or down! Up to now, I have always been fairly confident that they will go down!
